Whether Jason 'scaled back' or 'retired' is no concern to me. He had young children that he wanted to be around, that's good enough of a reason for me. I have always found it interesting that he decided to leave the WoO tour to be around his family right after he lost the Georgia Boot sponsership, decided not to bring Stevie Smith out on tour and one of his investors from the GLR group was arrested for a ponzi scheme or whatever the heck it was. That had to take a lot out of him. He may have said he wanted to go home to take care of his family, but he may have been the one who needed to be taken care of and having young children to take care of you is a pretty darn good gig too.

Great to see Jason compete whenever he gets the chance. As I recall I never heard him say he was retiring at all, and that he was just not going to be on the road full time. Every interview that he was in he said that he wanted to stay in the sport in some aspect. Hopefully he comes back full-time as I see this being the only opportunity that he probably would come back. Driving for KKR is different than what Jason did in the past which was own/manage a team and drive. Driving for KKR means you are strictly the driver, no other worries other than getting the car in victory lane which he has proven he can do.
