I think I just lost interest in attending ALL races at Eldora. They need BIG MONEY sprint car races there, not Nascar Trucks. It's been happening ever since Tony bought it. All the improvements are finally paying off. Just pave the damn thing and get it over with!

I'm a little surprised at the comments so far about this announcement. To me this is a HUGE deal & one of the coolest stories to come out of Nascar in ages. One of their premier series that runs at big name tracks is dipping into the high banked dirt of one of America's favorite tracks & it isn't a big deal? How about speculating on who will come up with a truck to impress Nascar teams... will a DIRT modified team do it? Late model guys? West Coast guys? PA Posse? I'm a fan of all things racing (favorite type of racing should be easy to figure out) & this is a really cool story... wish more saw it that way.

I'll probably get hung for saying this, but I have a hard time seeing any sprint car guys trying. I could see a late model or modified driver getting in there, but the trucks seem like too much of a different beast for any sprint car guys to go for it. I wouldn't mind being wrong, though.

I didn't realize how cool Thundercars at Lincoln are untill I watched the truck video from Eldora. An all black NASCAR truck with yellow walled tires and black wheels ruins Eldora like the restrictor plate ruined George Elliott's boys and Daytona. Maybe we can bring the Democratic National Convention to Knoxville Raceway while we're at it.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I think that a lot of the guys on here, because of their so called 'hatred' for NASCAR, cannot, and will not admit that this is a great idea, and should be a great event. It will go against their moral code. Just imagine, guys that say 'NASCRAP', or 'ASSCAR', or 'NAPCAR' or whatever other 'childish names they refer to NASCAR as, getting on board with this. BLASPHEMERS...... I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. It's all about dirt, right?

How embarresed will we be as the sprint car community when this show brings in a record crowd? Potentially more than the Knoxville Nationals? Wouldn't that be embarrasing, the third tier NASCAR series can draw and larger crowd on a Wednesday than we can at our premier event.

Or perhaps its an oppurtunity to actually PROMOTE dirt track racing. Hopefully a bunch of the pavement fender folks show up to Eldora, see the best race of their life and decide next year lets go check out the Kings Royal, where they see an even better race, then become sprint car fans for life!

Good luck Tony, I see this as a great thing for dirt track racing and all of auto racing!

Absolutely a very cool deal. This race will probably have the highest number of trucks trying to get in all year, other than maybe Daytona. It's a safe bet that you'll see a handful, if not more, late model guys take a crack at it. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Kraig and Schatz in trucks for that show since they both have at least a little bit of truck experience.

In a dream scenario, Haud would work his way into a ride. Could you imagine him bangin' the RR quarter panel off the wall? I'd give it 5 laps before the spoiler was completely torn off. That would be epic.

I see on twitter, Rico Abreu and Brady Bacon have stated they are looking for truck rides for this race. I wish someone would put Sammy back in the channel-lock 38 truck for Eldora.

I for one, can't wait to watch 60 trucks try to make it in the top 30 to just start the race. Pavement only guys will not make the show.

I think this is huge for everyone. When its all said and done the best drivers will still be on the podium much like the prelude which has been won by Johnson, Stewart and Busch.

The only people bashing this idea are the jealous spring car fans who can and will never accept that NASCAR may just put on twice the show of a sprint car race while drawing thousands of more fans. People who bash NASCAR in favor of F1 only lead me to assume you enjoy rubber down features.

One more thing. you idiots who bash NASCAR drivers about how unapproachable they are. How do you think Outlaw drivers would respond if they had 100,000 + people wanting their autograph week in and week out? Your out of your mind and have slight mental issues.

Pick up trucks at Eldora, rumor has it Danica has a ride in a truck but she must first sell all the left over furniture out of the back before her and Ricky set up house keeping in Charlotte,as far as pavement drivers getting into the race, they will surprise you a good many pavement drivers out there with dirt experience, including Jeff Gordon, both LaBontes,Edwards,Smoke and many more and don't count out Jimmy Spencer if he can get a Bernheisel truck and gets that big stogie all fired up,yahoo!!!!

any word if the Nascar truck fans (never see many of them at the asphalt events) will be arriving early to stink up the reservationsa for the King's Royal?

I certainly don't want to get caught up in sprint car racing going to the next level like it did a few years ago when that was the buzz phrase to raise ticket prices...maybe Tony will let us know where the puker crew from Kville is sitting if we call for reserved seats?

NASCAR has always ran on dirt.See short track series's result every week across this country.

How many win's does the King Richard have on dirt? A LOT!

Now days only the ARCA series is getting there cars dirty, and that's about to change.

What Tony is doing is for the good of racing, and brings excitement about the unknowns of this event.

I see this as a big step back in the right direction, and if they pull this off, get ready to see more of this at places like ILL Mile,Indiana Mile,Syracuse mile in the coming years.

Syracuse could be the race that NASCAR has been looking for cup cars.

I'll watch on tv but you're not prying any hard earned cash from my wallet to get me to sit with a bunch of billy redneck napcar fans. Couple things here: 1) they will stand during the whole god damned race 2) there will be constant mutterings of how "the team must've missed the setup" when they're favorite pavement specialist is getting his ass handed to him by a select group of relatively unknown (at least to them) dirt track racers. 3) the amount of stupid spewing from the announcers on the broadcast will be at an all time high. A spectacle it will be...but then again that's all any of napcar series are.
Cheers!

I'll be surprised if you see much if any dirt drivers from Late Model or Mod division guys get involved in this unless they are already doing some Nascar racing. I would think that Kevin Swindell and Larson would be good candidates, theres a Modified driver named Steve Arpin that's been driving some truck races the last couple years too. My reasoning is that you don't just show up with a car on the day of these races like most dirt track racers are use to. In order to race in any Nascar division the driver has to have a Nascar license which involves medicals, drug testing and paying a license fee, which when I google that it appears that is in the $3000 area, the team itself also has to have a Nascar license which equals paying more money out. And Nascar is only going to register X amount of cars and the series as it stands I'm sure has a good amount of regulars so there not going to allow 20 more dirt track racers come in just for that race where only 30 will qualify for the feature, lets be honest here too, Nascar wants its regulars and point chasers in that feature, not a bunch of dirt track racers that no one knows. Although I could see them wanting to get a dirt track racer into the feature for the storyline aspect of it. In that youtube video of the black RCR truck running around Eldora I was really hoping Tony would go on the track with the sprinter or a Late Model and go flying by.

Also, I am thumbs up on this race, I think its good exposure for dirt tracks to alot of people who most likely have never heard of Eldora.

I wasn't referring to outsiders coming in and winning, I was referring to the guys who've had limited opportunity in the truck series already but who come from dirt backgrounds. These guys will mop up the asphalt "specialists".
Cheers!

I wasn't referring specifically to your post Henry, I actually was typing my post prior to you posting yours, I didn't see yours till after I posted mine. I wasn't trying to correct you or anything so no offense meant to your post, I hear what your saying and agree and thats what I meant with my post as well.
