It's all good... I don't always agree with the stuff you say, but respect it for the most part! Brown's biggest boost is acquiring strong motors and racing (and competing) with the best (the WoO). High HP + high confidence is what is fueling his fire. I agree that it makes a difference... and I'm not saying Meyers is going to win, or is even a favorite to win. I don't think he'll show up with tired, crappy equipment though and get his a$$ handed to him! He wants to win this race pretty bad and wouldn't even enter if he didn't think he had a shot. I think he'll be just fine... but maybe I'm wrong... guess we'll see!

It's all good. I didn't know I was respectable Smile , it's not a word used to describe me by people I know...

You and a couple others on here are the only ones that don't resort to personal attacks from what I read. I think we both have our opinions and we're both entitled to them.

All I hope is that we have a SAFE week and great racing.

A little early yet to pick 'em in my opinion. Just like Saturday at the Grove it might a while before someone gets over the soreness of a a tumble or two and they still have the 360 week deal to get thru,so lets keep the band aids handy and the smelling salts so everyone gets a shot to be in the big show.Plus,a few last minute runners coming out of the woodwork. So wait and see what happens in the mean time. I just can't believe Jason Meyers is not running yet to get sharper on his hand eye co-ordination.Will he be a real contender, that depends upon if he has that Charlie Garrett rocket motor out from under the bed.Need to clean the lint out of those injectors before you fire it up.

Winner- Sammy, followed by Brown and then Stevie Smith. The rest in no paticular order: Dollansky, Saldana, S. Kinser, K. Kinser, Dobmier, Schatz, Pittman, S. Stewart, W. Johnson, Lasoski, Myers, K. Madsen, Hodnett, J. Johnson, Sweet, Kemenah, Henderson, T. Kaeding, Shaffer, Gravel and Blaney.

Darkhorse- Dobmier

Who I really want to see win- TK, Kemenah or Stewart

Sorry to disagree Chilly.

I'll start with Meyers...

Being in a car on a regular basis makes a HUGE difference. Go talk to Brian Brown or someone that raced weekends only primarily until mid-summer, they'll tell you that you can't just get in one after a lot of time off and run up front (especially against guys at the top of thier game).

The more you race, the better you are. Meyers hasn't been in a car since what, March maybe?

That's a LOT of time off and he won't have a crew of full-time sprint car guys like he has the last 10 years or so (he'll have guys that do it because it's a hobby).

As far as the Rahmer thing goes, I don't remember him in the feature last year (maybe it's because he dropped back or dropped out, he just wasn't very memorable to me) - I know he's struggled for the last 5 years or more.

As far as my Sammy comment goes, it's like this. I think Sammy BY FAR has the best motor, set-up, etc.. But the fact is that he has been pretty much flawless the last 2 years @ Kville (any type of show whether it be the Nationals, 360 Nationals, Outlaws, Regular Saturday Night), and IMO this is gonna be one of those years where he has trouble (maybe he gets into someone else's fiasco during a heat race even).

The Nationals have NEVER been too kind to Sammy (ran over from behind by Mark Kinser in 1997, fuel bladder folding over on itself in 1998 (both times while leading), spinning into the infield at the initial green flag (1980's in the Kodiak car, don't remember what year), blowing a tire with 3 or 4 to go a couple years ago, hitting the berm TWICE last year during the feature which killed his chance at passing Schatz, etc., etc., etc..

I think Sammy or Steve either one winning would be awesome, but I just have a bad feeling about this year being the year for Sammy (especially since he just won @ Eldora, he generally only wins one of the big races in any year (I don't think he's ever won two of them in the same season if my memory is correct).

I left Shaffer off the list too (and he's ran 1st and 4th the last 2 years. I think this year (more than any other year in recent memory), the local teams (from ALL racetracks) have more confidence than ever and will make it very difficult for the 10 Outlaw teams to dominate (heck, I don't think the Outlaws have gotten all their full-time teams in teh feature EVER in 32 years).

All I really hope for is GREAT RACING, a good time, and for those newbies attending the first time to make it an annual stop.

really vande 77 you must have a crystal ball thats cracked..from my undersatanding meyers has the same cars, same motors that won the past two outlaw championships..and from what im told he has a great team backing him, oh and ps they have a full time mechanic that does it for a living not a hobby...put all this together, same cars, same motors, full time crew chief ,great car owners and a few of his old crew guys and to me sounds pretty good...sure hasnt had much seat time this year but i think to two time champ will pick it back up pretty quick..look for him in the A not the middle of the c....

the one id be lookin for at the end would be madsen...great team and they have been quick this year...with rob hart wrenchin and madsens knowlege of knoxville..mmmm...

just hope the track conditions allow great racing with lots of passing just like last year...

I am going to have to side with vande on this one. Meyers record at Knoxville has been very inconsistent and to go in with minimal seat time is going to be tough. Yes, he did start in the 2nd row last year but the year before that the "Championship Team" found themselves in the middle of the C (9th to be exact).

Were you at the Nationals 2 yrs ago when Meyers was in the C ?? On his qual night he timed in 5th and missed the transfer in his heat by one spot. He was racing HARD with Madsen for the final transfer in the B and cut Madsen off to get 4th. Madsen was PISSED, and rattled Meyers' cage on the cool down lap. Meyers didn't go to the scale after the race (likely to avoid a confrontation from Madsen!?), and got DQ'd (think he got credited for last place pts in the B). If he went to the scales and was credited for 4th, he would've started at the back of the A and likely would've locked himself somewhere in the middle of the A on Sat night. I'm not a big Meyers fan... so it feels weird to defend him... but c'mon guys!

Yes I was at the Nationals 2 yrs ago (this will be my 14th strait and 16th trip). No need to defend Meyers. Nobody is saying he can't make the A. I believe what vande and I are getting at is it IS the Nationals. It is extremely tough for anybody to make the A let alone someone who has limited seat time that year. Look at how Sammy did a few years ago while running a limited schedule before he got the Big Game ride.

2005 6th in the C

2006 18th in the A

2007 N/A

2008 11th in the A

2009 7th in the C
