Washington:
1- Skagit Speedway. 3 divisions of sprints plus a nice facility. Also home of the Dirt Cup.
2- Grays Harbor Raceway
3- Yakima Speedway since that is the only other dirt track in the state.

Texas:
Devils Bowl
Royal Purple
Lone Star Speedway
MO:
Wheatland (1st by far)
Pevely
Lake Ozark (when it was open)
|
First of all, in Missouri if Im not mistaken, Lake Ozark Speedway is indeed open.
My Top 3 in Mo is...
1. I-55 Raceway(now called Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55)- you wont find any better racing than what you will see at Pevely!! Every class puts on a show every single saturday night.
2. Lucas Oil Speedway-Wheatland- The finest facility you will ever go to! Home of the Show-Me 100 as well as numerous sprint car races and late model races. Also has a bar on hand as well as luxury suites and a how cool is a drag boat track!!
3. Lake Ozark Speedway- had the biggest scoreboard I believe Ive ever seen other than Knoxville's. Ive seen some really good racing at LOS.
Proudly supports:

LOS is not currently in weekly operation. The website still shows it available for purchase/lease. The LOS sprint nationals in September are scheduled but it is a lease for the weekend deal.

I'm in Cali and when the tracks are on I'll take PERRIS 1), THE THUNDERBOWL at Tulare 2). and CHICO 3).also the three best races of the year are at these tracks 1. The TROPHY CUP nothing comes close. At Tulare . 2 .the OVAL NATIONALS AT THE PAS 2 . And the GOLD CUP at Chico 3 .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

this is one of the best threads on here in quite some time imo.
Pretty neat to read everyone's description of their statewide racing.
I hope folks keep em comin'. By all rights, if hundreds can ramble on about off track incidents - surely the same number could share with the group their thoughts on their local racing. I dig it. great topic sprintcarkelly.
get us back to talking/sharing real stuff about sprint car racing

Williams Grove - Hot bed of PA sprint racing
Roaring Knob - Always good racing
|

My Missouri list would be...
1. I-55 place is just flat out awesome, and Ive never been to a Outlaw show there yet. But like another poster put it, every class puts on a HECK of a show.
2. US36 in Osborn... Wish the Outlaws would run there again. Last time they ran there was slide job city lap after lap between Herrera and Saldana with Herrera sliding in 1,2 and Saldana same thing in 3,4. Probally my favorite race Ive seen in person in the last 10 years.
3. State Fair Speedway (beats out LA bye a hair). This slot should probally go to Lucas Oil by default from what I've heard, just havent been there yet either. Im in Kansas City and usually make races a day trip to either Eagle or Knoxville.

I live in Minnesota but got to Wisconsin for most of my racing because several of their dirt tracks are closer. So few of my races attended are in Minnesota that I don't really have any favorites but if pressed on the issue I'd take Jackson, Elko (when covered in dirt) and Princeton on nights they run Sprint Cars which are far and few between anymore. Deer Creek is also a good track but so close the Iowa border and such a tough nut to crack (for me) that I have removed it from my radar.
Cedar Lake has a good number of Sprint shows and has always been a favorite. The former Kopellah now called Saint Croix Valley Raceway has been completely revamped and I think it's going to open some eyes. They specialize in their regular program of Traditional (non-wing) Sprints and at 35 minutes from the end of my driveway I've gotta' love it. Their July 27 first ever IRA show is going to be a barn burner on one of the neatest little quarter mile surfaces around. I suppose as far as Wisconsin goes Rice Lake might be third but I rarely go beyond CLS and SCVR anymore.
It's an unusual situation to be sure but I'm stuck carrying several thousand bucks of camera gear in a thousand dollar beater and not venturing out very far for at least the next year. Not many tracks within the 50 mile radius that I trust the old beast but the few within that distance are good ones.

Wisconsin.
1. Cedar Lake
2. 141 Speedway.
3. Deer Creak. (they need to get the IRA back)
Honorable mention goes to Wilmot. The oldest track with the highest car counts. The place is getting better again each year.
I tell it like I see it.

Heart O' Texas Speedway- Fast 1/4
Cowtown Speedway-High banked bull ring
Lone Star Speedway- Down sized to a 3/8 mile. Fast with multiple grooves. Last years lone star sprint nationals was some of the best racing I have seen in a while. Especially the final 2 nights.

Oregon
1 Cottage Grove Speedway, Great 1/4mi bullring. Always exciting racing Weekly Sprints In the past they have hosted WoO, ASCS national , KWS and NW ASCS. The track rarely dries out because of all the trees surrounding it. However, things seem to be in the state of flux this season. They won`t host the WoO or ASCS national this season.
2 Southern Oregon Speedway Located in Medford. Another bullring with semi weekly Sprints. Only been there once (5 hr drive for me)
3 Madras Speedway, Just because it`s the only other track in the state that features Sprints on a weekly basis. It`s located in the high desert area of central Oregon.
Honorable mention:
Willamette Speedway, Late Model track that just had a facelift. They have several sprint car events scheduled this year and sprint fans are looking forward to the all new facility.
Sunset Speedway, Also a Late Model track that plays host to a few sprint car races each year. Very small track though. A few years back Danny Lasoski raced there and said it was the smallest race track he`d ever raced on.
Coos Bay Speedway, Plays host to several traveling sprint series like Sunset. Set in a very woodsy area only a couple miles from the ocean. Great seafood before the races! Can`t beat that!
Oregon currently has 4 different traveling dirt sprint series. ASCS, ISCS both winged sprints then you have NWWT and ODSS both non wing. Kinda diluted fields....wish they would do something about that!

Kokomo has the best racing in the country each week as far as I am concerned.
Gas City and Putnamville would be 2nd and 3rd on my list for Indiana

Oregon
1-Willamette Speedway after renovations its going to be one of the nicer facilities in the country
2nd- Southern Oregon Speedway
3rd-Cottage Grove would have been #1 but the recent switch in track crews has lead to TERRIBLE car counts and race conditions the last few weeks, without crockett noone can seem prepare a track here.
