I wasn't there but I've watched Sammy race since the late 70's. His traction control is his head and his foot............

where are the teams that are running TC hiding it?

and i never said anything about guys running or not running it.

i just asked, since you seem to know so much, what they were running and where they were hiding it.

you seem to be the one that is naive if you don't think the woo knows as much about TC as the teams do.

heck even you know about davis.

Dryslick Willie, thank you! I was starting to give up hope that anyone had common sense on here! Like if he was using it he's going to tell everyone. He is talking about his shocks. Also there are alot of series especially pavement series that allow TC so that's why Davis Technologies is still in business, just maybe?

I'm sure they get a bunch of business from Hendrick Motorsports!

SAMMY SAID IN THE INTERVIEW ON DIRT VISION DIAL IN THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS I THE ONLY ONE THAT HEARD IT?????????????????????/

The WoO should get an overseas factory to mass produce heads off a 1955 Nomad and make them mandatory. This way no car would ever need more traction even on the worst track surface. This would also simplify the rule book since all the valve configuration restrictions could be removed.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

only the controller for a wireless TC devise can be put in the drivers pocket.

you can only control some programmable TC devises by cell phone.

the actual devises still have to be on board the car. they still have to be able to control the ignition.

and i am not the one shooting off my mouth telling people teams are running TC and then can't answer a few simple questions about it.

i never argued if teams were running it. since someone opened their mouth like they knew everything, i only asked what type of TC was being used, where it was located and how it was getting past tech.

all i got was crickets chirping. i take that to mean the person shooting of their mouth doesn't know crap about what they are saying.

Singlefile,

Does WOO have anyone who is in charge of tech?? I've never heard of WOO tearing down and engine or mag, have you? Other than simple visual checks, I think the WOO (and all sprint car racing) rely on competitors to be "honorable & honest".

it appears singlefile is having some trouble answering a few simple questions.

at one time the woo were taking the ignition boxes and tachs from the top finishing cars each night for inspection. also i think from a random car. i am not sure if that is still in effect, but i would like to think so.

now about tearing down a mag, or an engine to specifically look for TC, i have not seen that.

the tech people can get the same info about TC as the teams. they can find out what systems are out there and how they work. and the most likely places they are installed.

the thing is, on a sprint car there are times you need to be able to blow the tires loose. while you can control wheel slip with many TC systems, and i have heard some of them can "learn" a drivers style, i don't know that they are advanced enough to let you warm up tires or blow them loose when you need to.

What's amazing is it sounds like some of you actually believe that every driver out there is perfectly legal. I have news for some if y'all hardly anybody who wins on a consistent basis is legal. Even your favorite driver somewhere someway they have stretched the rules some where.

because most local and lower budget teams can't afford 10K plus. and remember most teams have a back up for everything.

you think maybe the NHRA should run it?

just because you may need to cheat to be competitive doesn't mean everyone does.

also there are gray areas that many teams like to flirt with to see just what is considered legal and what is not.

you seem to think everyone out there is cheating on a consistent basis.

i have found that most top teams are pretty legit. it is usually the people who are trying to keep up with them that cheat.

now do i think that at sometime just about everyone has done something they know they shouldn't? it happens.

First Off to call me a cheater to be competitive when you dont even know me shows me i hit a nerve by calling your favorite driver a cheater. Secondly you proved my point by saying there are gray areas that many teams like to flirt with to see whats considered legal and what is not. There (and as a track official) there should be NO GRAY areas. Also you say that the people cheating are the ones trying to keep up with the top teams, well if those are the ones cheating and they are still not winning what does that say for the top teams??

You say you have found most top teams are pretty legit. Does that mean you have found some of these top teams are not?

When you say top teams, which top teams would you be speaking of. Are these WoO teams, PA teams or perhaps a sampling of teams local to your location?

What method is it that your using that qualifies them as pretty legit, illegal or legal. Are these from tech results you've had access to or just looking them in the eye? Just curious.

you didn't hit any nerve and i never said you were a cheater. all i said was you MAY have to cheat to be competitive. go back and learn how to read.

seems you are the one with the hurt nerves.

just because an official says everything is black and white, that doesn't mean it is. there are some rule that have been written at time that leave room for interpretation.

and if some top teams are beating the teams that have to cheat to try to keep up with them, it just shows how bad some of the cheaters are. just because someone is cheating doesn't always mean it gives them an advantage or it makes them faster. i have seen teams who cheat that can't hit their ass.

everyone is always quick to accuse the fast teams of cheating. the thing is, some teams are just good. period.

i can't speak for every top team, so i can't say they are all on the up and up. i can only comment on teams i am familiar with. my info comes from the years i have been around the sport and what i have seen for myself. so why are you jumping my ass for not making a blanket statement that i can't back up, like singlefile is doing? why don't you tell us for fact what teams are cheating?

here is the deal, none of you couch cowboys can offer any info to me on the questions i have asked.

no one has been able to provide any info on TC as far as what systems are being run, where they are installed and how the teams are getting them by tech. still you jabber jaws have no problem shooting off your mouths like you know something.

Sammy still driving like he 20 something years old and still works his rump off on his car is something to see...maybe not to one of the other drivers out there, but from his T-Shirt sales there's a bunch still watching!

Traction control on a sprint car would be very hard to tune for and hide at the sametime I'd think. I'm sure Sammy was joking.

I read just fine. Your just making excuses for those who cheat to say there are rules that have some areas to be left to interpretation. Just admit it in some small way from top to bottom just about everybody is cheating that's why some lower budget teams are no longer racing. They can't afford to keep up with the jones and that's why all over the world of dirt track racing car counts are dropping.
