The GOLD CUP dude! If you didn't know, that is a $50,000 to win race in September. The mini gold cup is run in March.
My question is ttwill he GOLD CUP still be a WoO event. The mini gold cup is not as of this week. The past three months it was a WoO event. I am just wondering what happened in the past week (mini gold cup)?

The Mini Gold Cup will still be one hell of a show. For 25k to win… It will as it has in the past, draw talent from up and down the west coast. I'll see the Outlaws in Tulare and have a blast in Chico for the MGC. I'd rather see the Outlaws get schooled by TK at Thunderbowl anyway.

Not $25,000 to win. Mini Gold Cup will pay $4000 to win Friday and $8000 to win Saturday.

Thats too bad.....I wonder why that is Johnny? Did Handy promotions cancel at the last minute? I would bet some money that is what happened. Handy didn't come up with or cancelled the saction fee at the last minute, after all it is in the best interest in the Outlaws to race Chico that weekend rather than go to Texas from Tulare. So let me get this straight, Florida to Las Vegas to Tulare to Texas? Yikes. We don't get the Outlaws for the mini, damn it.
I'll still go to watch either Allard or Kyle win, ok dark horse T-dub in harrold Main's 36a!
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

I wonder if the WoO are still sanctioning the Gold Cup? They will still be running Goodyears!!!
This really screws the fans & the drivers. For the fan, now we only get to see the best sprint car drivers in the world on two weekends this year (Tulare & Gold Cup). It hurts the locals as the Good years they buy can only use for one weekend at Tulare and the $125 membership fee as well. It hurts the WoO drivers as now they are driving all the way out to the West Coast for only three races (Vegas & Tulare). WTF?
One fan that is not happy with Handy Promotions!!!!

why dont all of you just call them at handy promotions. their number are available. non sanctioned...l

like someone stated aboe the woo only started making the mini last year so what is the bfd anyway. the Gold Cup in September has always been a WOO show, go see that one.
and i too believe that the chico show with all the regulars is just as good as any woo show that i have attended. save your money for the gold cup in september imo
and, they won't make the two for just one show, bet on it.

The WoO has practically outpriced themselves in California. If you're looking for another track here you won't find one outside of the SDS's Gold Cup and Tulare. That's about it. No one else can afford them. Besides the local shows are better and more power to Handy Promotions.

Because Chico advertised the WoO Mini Gold Cup for several months now (on their site). Then they pull it just before tickets went on sale Monday.
I hear all different things on the tires. Some say you need to buy new tires for each race. Some say they use them for several races. I have no idea which is correct on this one. I don't think the tires are an issue when you can use them over four nights at Tulare & Chico. I hear the $125 fee does provide over a half million in insurance ... which some local drivers don't have.
|
You would have to spend 1000-2000 dollars for tires, not only that you won't run again until september, but also you don't know anything about. All the WoO teams have tested the goodyear tire and will have 8 or 9 races before they would even get here, not to mention the 180 dollar fee for joining the WoO. Many teams out here just can't afford that. My guess is that if stayed a WoO race, the car count would be very low. I think alan made the right call on this one.

The promoters at Silver dollar speedway pulled the WoO .... replaced with thier own series GSC. Didnt' want to pay the scantion fee and pay the large purse. Now purse much smaller at $4k and $8K to win. Not sure why as the 2009 WoO MGC event seemed to be a success.

fyi...my intent was to state that the show for The Gold Cup is attended by the woo and not a points race. why do you think saldana was so pissed last year, no points for the "non sanctioned" woo show. his win didn't go towards the number of "woo wins".
hopefully that helps. as far as "youngens go" i'm drawing ssi also, maybe that counts eh? lol
PS. i always enjoyed ascot over west capital. lived in fairfield...then long beach....

Last year MGC was a normal WoO points race. Two complete shows each night. This year there will be Zero WoO drivers due to the WoO adding races in Texas the same weekend, after Chico pulled their BS move.
