Your right I shouldnt of acted like that I let my anger get the best of me and then realized it and that is why I shook mikes hand and thought it over at that until I get on here and read kel1234 post

At least you admit it, and acted mature enough to go shake his hand. Sounds like everything was settled between the 2 of you at the track, and that's all that matters in the end. Let the rest go.

Well that could be but he was running high and i made the pass on the inside and if i did slide up why not use the brakes to keep from us hitting the wall

accidents happen when you race.... maybe he didn't have enough time to apply the breaks there's a million things that could of happened, as the saying goes.... sh** happens... both of y'all walked away from it with no injuries and thats the really the only thing that matters......

watchin from the stands how do you get that dustin caused the wreck. when 01 went high, he went low and was hit hit in the rear and was put in the wall...end of story! you are an 01 fan so of course your going to say dustin caused the wreck. everyone has a right to their own opinion, but to get online and start talking trash is kind of ridiculous don't you think? all you're doing is starting something that doesn't need to be started.

and what are you solving by getting on here and posting your reply???

practise what you preach.....

Not only did dustan not cause the wreck but he wouldn't have done it on purpose (thats not what he is about). You might tell mike that the middle pedal is called a brake and he might try using it sometime

maybe he wouldn't hit everything or everbody next to him!

Why don't you put who you are. It looks like you joined just so you could bash Mike. The rest of us on here pretty much know who is who no one is hiding there name.

"All this bad attitude is playing a major role in the bad car counts and spectator numbers."

DRIVERS aren't responsible for low car counts, GAS prices are. If spectators knew what went on in the pits, they'd understand a bit more of the drivers side of the coin.

Lanny Edwards has a way to improve car counts, at least in the FS class, but he's waiting on next year. Must be awful exciting watching 10 or so cars battle for the Track Championship.

Dustin Southerland, my good friend, you know I have been driving home 4 1/2 hours to race, since Lanny the ONLY 2 112 inch wheelbased ruled track in the state. My bro in law said pull your car up there with mine and run the Mini class at Crawford County Speedway, they have an awesome car count, awesome competition, and to me its worth driving the 4 1/2 hours, hook up to my car and go racing. Leaving the car there saves on my pulling expense because the track is 45 mins away.

OH and THE PROMOTERS LISTEN TO THE DRIVERS THERE, NOT TALK DOWN TO THEM AS A KING WOULD A PEASANT.

You are referring to my comment. As a matter of fact it does too play a role. There are several drivers who started going to other tracks because of their fellow competitors bs and some of them are still running at a "Lanny" track. As a driver you get tired of being pushed and banged around by the same people every weekend or listening to their mouths that talk more than they should. If you don't get along with your fellow competitors, then what are you going to do? Go someplace else where you feel more comfortable. Chasing off your fellow drivers, chases off their fan base. This has been going on since before the gas prices became a big issue. My opinion, the ones who like to jump and start fights or run their mouths are the ones who can't handle competition.

...........and you drive what?

I'll speak on Dustins behalf, watched him race all last year, and a few weeks this year. He isn't a dirty driver, and surely isn't a driver to go to the track on a weekly bassis looking to have his car looking like it did after the race night Saturday.

As far as, "the ones who like to jump and start fights or run their mouths are the ones who can't handle competition", your barking up the wrong tree here, I live for competition!

Evidently you are getting my posts confused with others on here. Where did I say anything about Dustins driving?

Do I necessarily have to drive something to have an opinion? No, I don't. You don't know anything about me, nor I you. But I will say you do contradict yourself.

He isn't a dirty driver, and surely isn't a driver to go to the track on a weekly basis looking to have his car looking like it did after the race night Saturday.

vs.

your barking up the wrong tree here, I live for competition!

As far as I know, Dustin doesn't leave the track every week with his car looking like that. So are you saying that after one incident that you would quit racing there? But if you live for competition, then why would one incident make you go someplace else? At least that's the impression I'm getting from you. Also if I'm not mistaken, aren't you fairly new to the area? I'm not. I was practically born at Lawton Speedway and have been around racing all my life with pretty much every class of car. I have seen the affects of the bad attitudes over the years.

I was born and raised around racing as well, I ain't going to get into a pissing contest with you over knowledge of the sport. My Big Brother is Nationally known and I'm in my second year of driving, so like you I've been around every class of car from Mini Stocks to Late Models, No I'm not really new to the area, been here over a year, and as you know from being around racing all our lives, we can READ what others say and picture it both ways in our minds.

I wouldn't quit after one incident, I'd fix it or build another if the funds were readily available.

I've probably seen and can match everything you have seen and heard, kind of goes with us kids raised around racing. HEHEHE

I don't dislike you, just stating my opinion as you are. I don't think the area, being new or not has much to do with it, racing is racing, just different drivers and locations is all.

AS FOR.......

""This has been going on since before the gas prices became a big issue. My opinion, the ones who like to jump and start fights or run their mouths are the ones who can't handle competition.""

...........and you drive what?

I was just asking what you drove. Pretty simple question.

Wasn't directed totally at you as you took it, I was just stating my observation. You and I aren't the only one replying to this thread.

I totally agree with you, and have nothing against you. It's actually hard to understand what one means when it's just words compared to a face to face conversation. Gestures and facial expressions tell a lot.

As for my implying about you not from being around here, I wasn't trying to say you don't know anything about racing. Kudos on the racing background! Just that I've been around Lawton and have talked to people and personally seen/involved with what has gone on through the years. Example...I happened to find one of my programs from 2001 and it greatly upset me...

Total of 33 champs sprints listed, mini stocks had 66, mods had 51, and factory had 71. All pretty good numbers except the champs as it was a low year for them. All with a good number of them running consistently. The number of cars running consistently has been dropping over the last few years, and yes this year has been hit hardest. Overall the numbers have gone up and down depending on the class. Of course I'm talking about at Lawton and not everywhere else. Many of the drivers are still running, but at other tracks. Is it only just about fuel prices or getting tired of other peoples crap? Bad blood, favouritism, cooler weather, or just a combo of everything rolled together? We don't know for sure as everybody has their own reasons, and yes right now fuel is a big one. Sadly if we want to keep racing alive, we are going to have to work through it as it doesn't look like there is going to be an end in the price gouging anytime soon. Anymore it seems like if the winds blows, it gives them an excuse to raise fuel prices. There is also the issue of drivers changing classes. Some are trying to move up, and I guess some are waiting for the limited mods to get going. Either way it looks as if it's a season of change for all and it sucks for all at all tracks.

As for what I drive...it's an F150 supercrew LOL!

I would like to start by saying ,yes I did get blacked flagged for tapping the 01 car and I apoligize to Mike if I scratched his car. I have been out there for eight years and have never had the black flag pointed at me, so don't get on the computer and act like me and the  5 car are out there trying to take people out! It wasn't like I took out the 01, I believed he finished third that night. So before you start calling people out for rough driving I think you should sit in the stands and enjoy the raw power of the mini stocks and leave the racing to the racers.

I have passed all the cars out there except you 2N and 01 is the hardest to get around, but  that is his job. He should probley pick a line and stay in it!

No hard feelings towards anyone lets just keep up the hard racing!! Hope to see more cars next week!

Sooner brought you into this with his comments I only told what happend. Sitting in the stands give a person a great view of the track and you see so much more then a driver on the track so with that said good luck to all Sat. night
