Not a fan of 3 identical classes every week. Why not throw in non-wing or modifieds once in a while? Or at the very least, run a 16sq. Ft. Wing on the pro sprints. And change up the track prep so it's not the exact same all the time.

Modifieds? What are you think' for Indy? Swamp buggies? Smile

Non-Wing sprints I could definately get into. But Modifieds!!!!!! Hell to the No!!!!!

I would think the fans at Knoxville would be mortified at the thought of having mortifieds on a Saturday night.

Maybe not mods but he has a point. Three classes of cars that look the same and sound the same can get boring for some. Went to the Rolex 24 this year and the cars all look and sound different not to mention multi-class racing has non stop action.

Identical in appearances only.

Different drivers, different teams, different engines. I think most agree that Knoxville has one of the best track prep crew in the dirt racing world, if not thee best, and now we're complaining about how consistent the track is? Dirt track racing, by nature changes, and can vary week to week depending on the obvious.

Mods? Ya no.

The only thing I'd go for is a smaller wing in the Pro Sprints Class. I think running (3) classes at Knoxville is wonderful. How many tracks can we go to on a weekly basis and watch (3) classes and no fenders? The list is short. Very short.

We can watch three classes of Mortifieds and another three taxi classes almost every night of the week up here in Minnesota.  That's why we sometimes make the 300 mile drive to Knoxville.  I vote with you, it's just fine the way it is.

Speaking of track prep, I just saw a short interview with Chris Duncan where he said they brought in 250 dump truck loads of new black gumbo last fall for the 2024 race season.

Interesting for those who stay in Newton when going to Knoxville? Will it be like this for the Nationals?

Dont remember the year but one year the management decided to cut costs and Duncans were replaced and also cant remember for sure but they added dirt that wasnt right and it didnt take long to appreciate the job that had been done by the Duncan family. Not everyone knows how much time and effort it takes to have a good racetrack. Also a big track takes a lot more time than a bullring. Not much glory in track prep except a good well done

As I recall, After night #1 of the Inaugural "1200lb Nationals" they spent all night scraping off the surface and applying new dirt. Most or all of that bad dirt is now back in the SW corner of the North Campgrounds.
