Sad part is all they have to do is run it like a professional series should be run. Can't they find a leader? Just one would make a world of difference. I thought with HL coming into the game they would step up the quality of their product but instead they look like the new comers.

Start late and still can't have the next event ready to roll out.    Maybe they should go spend some time at  weekly races at places like Plymouth Wi and learn how to run races back to back.

All the talk about taking sprint car racing to the next level.......What does that mean?  Actually running a show like a profession organization with 40 some years of experience should be able to.  WoO needs to figure out how to run a race program.  Don't talk about all the time that the tems need to get the car ready. They are supposed to be professional racers and they are not racing out of an open trailer with only friends to help.  Groups just make up excuses instead of improving things. Maybe HL will. I know my brother went to most of the HL races last year and he said the aura feels completely different than most outlaw shows feel. Hell, they flew to Lernersville and then saw the features at Beaver Dam Wi the same night on the way home.

I have never heard anyone bitch the races got over to early.

I go to Plymouth WI often. They have many problems too but the food is excellent and they have reasonable prices.

Many places seem to have trouble keeping a decent schedule time wise. I wonder if it is the people running the show's fault or the facilities fault?  Yes the weather can come into play but the folks preparing the track should have a good feel for getting the track in shape in a timely manner.  Perhaps they could start track prep earlier?

I wonder what the racers thought about the wind velocity and racing?

The High Limit races seem to be run with the TV viewing people in mind. Minimal down time between things. The WoO do not.

The power problem was a freak happening. Hats off to them for getting the event in but it did seem to take a long time once they got rolling.

The idea that the WoO doesn't know how to run a show is ridiculous.

I don't know who is to blame when an event is like watching the grass grow or paint dry.  It does seem like some WoO events are very slow moving.  Perhaps if they told people what was going on or the reasons for the delays that might help? I doubt they ever will.  It makes watching them on line (streaming) much more attractive from a time aspect often. We still go to the ones that are a reasonable drive. Much better to watch them in preson generally still. My recliner is very comfortable and I can replay portions fairly easily if I desire so this may factor in if the HL and WoO events we attend are dragged out to much this summer.

I had that conversation with a driver one time about a race at the Jackson Speedway before it became the Motorplex and walls put up around the track.  The wind was strong enough to cause cars to change lanes on the backstretch.  Not so good when they're side by side at 120.  It's a legit thing that has happened elsewhere.

Was there that night.  It was wild, the cars were leaning way over the right going down the back stretch.

Give some examples of WoO events that were slow moving that weren't impacted by weather other than Kennedale. And a 3 hour show is not slow moving...

I don't keep lists or waste my memory for useless things like any of this. Maybe they need cheerleaders to fill the holes?

Then don't run your mouth about it. It doesn't take a college degree to know that you shouldn't make claims/accusations without receipts to back it up.

LOL keeping track of silly things keeps the stats folks in business. You don't have to read my comments but most likely your lives are very boring with few things in them. Get an additional couple hobbies is my suggestion. It is raining here so nothing better to do that read this. Maybe go back to school and get your GED for starters . . . . . .

And again, running your mouth with absolutely nothing to back it up. How do you know what someone's education level is unless they brag about it like you do? You could be talking to an astrophysicist right now for all you know. That alone says a lot about your intelligence.

To be fair, when you say things like this, it does just come off as someone shooting off their mouth. Maybe that's not an issue if you don't want people to ever take you seriously.

I live in Sioux Falls SD and don't recall being winded out. Stan mentions Jackson, 90 miles east of here, but maybe it's more of a regional thing, or a track layout thing? Is Oklahoma really windy? Are the tracks out on the flatland where they'd be more suseceptible to wind?

Frankly I do not care what you and other folks like you think. Small simple minds.

Oklahoma is pretty flat just like KS, NB, SD.  It is usually windy from either the North or the South.

There have been incidences of racing cancelled there in the past.  If a car is going on a straightaway with the wind, I believe the wing can get lifted by the wind.

The track in Muskogee is a big flat 1/2 mile.  As I recall, the long straightaways run North and South.  Here in KC that day, the wind was over 20 mph with gusts to 40.

If you don't care what other people think, why are you on a message board forum?

"Some people need to *BE drawn a picture." There I fixed it for ya. I'm very surprised to see someone of your academic pedigree making such a simplistic grammatical error. Do better.

Is Oklahoma windy? Some lyrics from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! may help. "Ooooooklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin down the plain. Where the wavin wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain."
