I think the biggest thing is it's always the same things said and always the same people saying it. So while it shows up on social media, it;s not really showing up in droves. It;s the same handful of blowhards each week who have nothing better to do then complain about Earl.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, but only when streaming became prevalant, did people really start to care about the announcer. If you are sitting in the stands at a track and you can truly tell me what the announcer is saying lap by lap as cars are racing around at full speed you have super hearing and frankly your'e not paying attention to what's on track.

I get people have a certain taste. I enjoy a cold Rolling Rock over a Miller Lite or a Yuengling at the track. That doesnlt mean the other suck. They're just not for me. And that's ok. But he does his job, does it pretty well, gets info out and at the end of the day....he gets people talking. That's a win anywhere.

I know a lot of people from here to California to Canada to Australia and I don't know one person who likes him. Go ask around at the track and I'll bet the majority of people don't either. It's not hard to read the room if you're sitting in the bleachers.

just to clarify for me it is when I'm sitting in the "stands" in my reserved seats at the premier track in PA is when the constant drivel are you ready never any down time between' describing anything going on besides  the races is what bothers annoys "me" not trying to convince others to have same opionion.  Flo i can mute if i so choose.

not sure what pertinent info Earl gives out between the races especially when the ASCoC where there as he had to be heard more than Blake.

my favorite time at the track last year was the world of outlaws as earl was not permitted to be the show.

My opinion is he gets carried away and for me it takes away from the show - let the pit man MC opening cermonies from victory lane so he is ready in the both to start the program.....not going to happen because imho Earl loves to be the show.

Right. I don't watch on Flo so I don't hear him during the race. But any time there's down time, he becomes a complete pain in the ass. I don't know who told him he's funny, but he was lied to. I've never in my life heard someone who can talk so much yet never say a damn thing.

No matter where you are people like to have some to talk to friends without having to yell over an announcer taking about nothing. No announcer has to be talking constantly. What ever happened to them taking a break during down time and playing some not blasting loud music. We are there for the races. If we want to hear a comedian we will stay home and listen to a good one on TV.

Chase was EXCELLENT. Best of luck to him.  Earl Hoon Jr., is a CLOWN. I have been going to the races since the 60's at the Reading Fairgrounds. Been to over 75+ tracks. Earl is the absolute WORST!

Chatti Matti (sp?) with IRA 410 is in the running for the botttom spot.  She screams often when doing the play by play and interviews. I wonder how she keeps the position . . . . . . .

Chase is pretty good and likely to get better.

I didn't have a clue as what to expect, and was a little leary how Chase would be as the main announcer, like most, I suppose.

I thought he was pretty good, no screaming Smile

What did you all think?

While this turned into an Earl thread, I thought Chase was good. Seemed very calm on the mic, I almost forgot who was talking. Though, if I remember correctly, he used to announce at Red Bluff & Cycleland before joining the WoO as a pit reporter? Definitely not his first rodeo.
