Obviously, you haven't been reading all of it. Never said anything along that line maybe. That's what you've got in mind. What I did say is $3000 is more than what Knoxville pays.$3000 is maybe an ego trip for somebody. And I certainly don't think they need to pay $3000 to win for a weekly show. Maybe. $1,500 Would be enough? For Jackson to pay for a weekly show. If they're losing money, so they could lower their ticket prices down. To try and attract more people. After all $18.00 for a weekly show is a little steep. Especially when Knoxville charges.$15.00 for 410. 360's and their other class. I'm just looking at it at a business point of view. I think running 360's, and IMCA classes and trying to get people back in the stands. And charging them a reasonable price for Tickets. I think 1500 to win for the 360's would be reasonable. I know you're from Sioux Falls. What do they pay out at Hartford when they run the 360s? Or at Rock Rapids? I think it's around $1500. Yes, 3000 is nice . But if you're losing money. You can't do that. As Tod would say, a smart businessman would know that.  Glen Murra

Would you advocate paying the help half as much as well? I'm sorry, but this isn't the 70's. Stuff costs more. Remember when McDonald's used to run TV adds about taking a family of 4 out to dinner and getting change back? Those days are gone. You seem to be angry that Jackson isn't like the good old days.

Each track is unique. Each track is trying to do what works for the track, the racers and the fans.

No Murphy I'm not angry I'm just unhappy that there. Not trying something a little different. And that things seem to be declining down to, at best, a specials only track. If even that. The things that used to work. At Jackson. Running 360s. And IMCA's. On Saturday nights. Aren't even being considered evidently? And like I said before see. Step come about after they acquired the track out in South Dakota. And I have also said. I'm not the one putting the money in this deal. So I can't really say much. I'm just saying what I have seen happen in the past. With other promoters, and they seem to have made money. And didn't seem to have trouble getting people in the stands. And maybe you don't think there's a difference between angry and unhappy.  But I think there is. And  talking to people, there are a lot of people that feel the same way I do. But we all also realize that it probably will not be able to happen. Because getting IMCA sanctioning. Now. Is probably out the door. Cause other tracks have. Picked it up. And I don't think Jackson could get it for Friday or Saturday night, I know there are some people are saying, well, they have IMCA specials during the week. In the summer, and they don't get a crowd. Well, those are Weekday specials. And you're not gonna get people in the stands when they have to work the next morning. But I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. No hard feelings on my part. I hope there's no hard feelings on your part. One thing we do agree on is we both love racing and sprint car racing in particular. Enjoy the races. Stay healthy.  Glen Murra

I think it's just the effects of a changing world. The interenet and other entertainment choices are hurting local live events, auto racing and others. In recent times we've lost Lake County Speedway in Madison, Sioux Empire track at the Sioux Falls Fairgrounds, and the race track in Sioux Center. Hartford, Husets, Rock Rapids, and Worthington (?) (is it still open?) have all spent at least a year being dark and then reopened.

Competition for entertainment dollars is pretty stiff. I have to believe that Tod is doing all he can to keep Jackson open and flourishing. Mother Nature is not helping.

It's cool and cloudy in Minnesota this Saturday morning.  High temps around 70 and cloudy.  If there is a bright side the track should be closer to night conditions in this kind of weather.  It's going to be a fast track and those motors will sing with this cool air.  Should be good daytime racing.

The last WoO day race was June 9 2018 and was an awesome race.  Jason Johnson won both preliminarys.  I look for todays afternoon race to be equally exciting..

Yeah, if they're gonna have to have a day race, you couldn't ask for better weather conditions. I just hope the track widens out, and it's not a one groove track. I bet I'm a little afraid. Everybody's gonna be fast. And not going to be a lot of passing. If you start on the front, you're going to stay in the front unless you slip up. And give somebody the opportunity to pass you. It's 12:30 right now, and it's only 68 degrees. Really unusual for the end of August. I'll have to see how things go today. Maybe I'll slip over there tonight for the races. Does anybody have a car Count? Do they still have 40 cars? Or did some of the cars leave?  Glen Murra

Here's a question for the WoO historians out there:

First time ever a NTR has taken place at an afternoon race at an existing WoO track?

(and mile tracks or tracks that only race in the daytime don't count)

June 9 2018 at Jackson again.  Lynton took it to 12.690.  If my memory is correct, several broke it that day.
