I’m pretty sure “colored people“ isn‘t ok to say either.

Well it beats the alternative now doesn't it? I am african american and I dont hold it against him for the way he feels its his right to say what he wants freedom of speech. He obviously does not like my race so I wont jump in line for his signature anytime in the future cause I know how he feels so its all good .i wish all the drivers could be honest the way they feel like he did. He is what a asian I think and i dont make remarks about his ethnicity so be it

So if you're a fan of Larson's but clearly don't condone what he said. What do you do moving forward? If races were next week or in a month I sure wouldn't feel right wearing his t-shirt as I feel like you're going to get looked at like you support a racist person. I'm dissapointed as a fan because I didn't think we would ever have to worry about something like this with him.

Google it and you can find it pretty easily. I'd hope no one posts it here. The way the world is now, some fool somewhere would find a reason to drag Hoseheads into it and that wouldn't be right.

First of all, I'm a HUGE Kyle Larson fan, but....

He should get every bit of the punishment he is going to receive.  No matter the context, platform, if he was out with his family, on vacation, or in the race car, it doesn't matter------he's going to lose a lot, if not everything, over this.  I truly think he was using the word playfully and not maliciously.  However, it's not acceptable to be used at all and especially not a celebrity in the public eye.

That said, into my early-adult life, I was a very racist person.  I grew up in a small all-white town, with racist parents and grandparents.  All of my relatives were racists.  All of my peers were racists.  Many still are.   It wasn't until I started working with people of all races and backgrounds before I came to realize how wrong that mindset was.  I am now as "non-racist" as anybody you will ever meet.  I work with, and am friends with people from all backgrounds and races.  My kids best friends are African American.  I cringe when I think of how my parents would have handled that with me as a kid----they wouldn't have---which is ridiculous to me.

Why am I making this point?  Because Kyle should be punished and judged for this right now-----and only right now.  He should not be judged by this 5 or 10 years from now.  People can see the error in their ways and he is still a young man.  It really doesn't matter if you think his apology is sincere or not.  It only matters what he thinks about what he said, and what he does going forward.

From Chevrolet....

“Chevrolet has suspended its relationship with Kyle Larson indefinitely, as we do not tolerate this behavior. We will continue to monitor the events surrounding Mr. Larson and are prepared to take additional action.”

McDonald's wouldn't even hire him now, lol, plus isn't he sponsored by McDonald's?   No sponsor would even want to touch him with a 10' pole right now in NASCAR or even on his sprinter.  He can say bye bye to Chevrolet, McDonald's,  Credit One's,  etc. money and even Chip Ganassi's .

Every person or each ethnic category has different feelings about words used to describe them. Problem is, our words are controlled by politicians who have decided word a is bad and word b is ok.

Seems to me he was of the opinion his conversation was private, even to the point where he chose that word becauae he thot it was private.

Canada isnt in the same spectrum  due to our less diversified population and i don't support racism in any way but i bet every driver has said something in private that if you heard it said you would change your opinion of that driver a little bit.

Words are like swords and i know i have cut people with mine, maybe not racially,  but emotionally or othet ways. He slipped and it went piblic. Shame on him, sad it has consequences and more sad we live in a world where words have those negative connotations fixed to them.

If sponsors want to withdraw they have their right and best interest to consider. I personally dont like when people use the word but I won't change my opinion of him very much as it wasnt said to or about that group and it was a private, in his knowledge, comment.

People use names in negative ways every day very few are broadcast live.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I'm pretty sure he will not have to take a shift at McDonalds.  However, you may be right----his Nascar career, and anything associated with the public light, may be over.

His career on dirt is not over by any means.  It is not a big enough national public spotlight.  I'm not so sure if anyone will sign him once he is let go at the end of the season-----if it takes that long.

Who was Kyle Larson's spotter that he called the "N" word to ? Just a thought ! By the way, I would have thought when Brian France was forced out of NASCAR Management for his drug shenanagans that the new leadershgip would have learned not to white wash over controversies by any of it's management but apparently not. Givent he times and circumstances, I think NASCAR has got to get off the thin ice policy and be bold as to circumstances within their "family".

Carson Macedo is a really sad innocent victim in this deal.  He seems to be a good kid & a hell of a driver.  Probably gonna lose that team due to something not in any way of his doing.  Hopefully he can find a good ride somewhere else.

Larson will come back in due time, but he may never again have big corporate backing at his disposal.  Hope for his sake he invested some of that $ he has earned.

I’m pretty sure “colored people“ isn‘t ok to say either.

But it is ok to say "people of color"?  Why is it ok for a certain culture of people to use the N word but if any other culture uses that word it is a punishable offense?

His Mom is of Japanese descent

True. "colored" isn't PC anymore, but its what people used to say in the old days who didn't want to be seen as bigots. Hell, its in the name of NAACP. "Negro" is out of style too, but it used to be the proper term.

I didn't know there were any African Americans on HH.... good to hear from you! Smile

I remember a driver getting suspended from 2 sanctioning bodies and 3 or 4 tracks for being critical of track conditions.
