I agree Mike but I feared he was going to ball it up on either end of the track every one of those 55 laps. It was great to see him get the win Saturday and bring it home 2nd on Friday but watching him drive is not for the faint of heart :-).

I thought is was kind of wierd myself that there wasn't any comments made. I have been watching this stuff for over 40 years and I don't think I have ever seen a car that locked down! It makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck just watching the highlight video!

11 minutes 28 seconds = 688 seconds. 688 divided by 55 = 12.5 second lap averge.

They've had a good streak going lately and Saturday was super impressive, but Sheldon still has a lot of consistency to find.
He's traditionally struggled at Knoxville so we'll see how this week treats him.

Exactly. No doubt he can be superb at times. Schatz has been doing it on a consistent basis for years.
Thats what Sheldon needs to aim for.... hope he makes it interesting at Knoxville!

Me and a buddy were arguing about this the other day. He says he was 10 seconds ahead of 2nd place and I say it was 6 seconds They we returning laps around 10.3 seconds. If there were five cars on the lead lap and it takes 10.3 seconds to get around and he was 10 seconds ahead where do the five cars fit in? And while it was definitely a whoopin I don't think it was quite as astonishing to me as it was to you that's 55 laps nonstop on a short track. 35 laps yes it would have been mindblowing.
|
WHAT !! 55 LAPS NON STOP. I'VE NEVER IN RACING (sprint cars) AT THIS LEVEL THINK ITS BEEN DONE. yes years back 100 lap events we're held but never at this speed or non stop. Not impressed, what a piece of work you must be.
From central coast of Cali.
Peace, Out.

Sheldon rolling again last night. Seems like it took him about half the race to start running the bottom consistantly. But once he got in a groove he was fast. He damn near came to a stop after getting loose with 4 or 5 to go... gathered it back in, ran away from Reutzel, ran down Dobmeier, and edged him at the line to take 3rd. As long as we dont have a lot of high scorers tonight he should line up somewhere around 13th-16th Saturday. Happy to see it. While I know this team has been on a roll lately he usually looks like a fish out of water at Knoxville.
