I do this every year and 2019 is no exception . Our Speedweek is weak. Ohio has us covered. This is what the schedule should be. To you clowns that organize Speedweek...pay attention or you're fired.

SAT- Lincoln

SUN- Path Valley

MON- Off day or Trailway/Bedford

TUES- Grandview

WED-  Hagerstown

THUR- BAPS

FRI- Williams Grove

SAT- Port Royal

SUN- Selinsgrove.

This schedule is 100% doable and will put PA Speedweek back on the map. We the fans do not care about giving our "big 3" two races a piece.  The crowds will make up for it. LET ME SAY IT ONCE AGAIN TO YOU CLOWNS THAT RUN PA SPEEDWEEK. WE DO NOT LIKE WHAT YOU'RE DOING. MAKE A TRUE SPEEDWEEK SCHEDULE. WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS CRAP. STOP BEING STUBBORN OR YOU ARE ALL FIRED.

Why the wasted Friday before Lincoln?

FRI - Lernerville

SAT - Port Royal

Sun - Path Valley

Mon - Hagerstown

Tues - Off

Wed - Grandview

Thurs - BAPS

FRI - Williams Grove

SAT - Lincoln

SUN - Selinsgrove

With that said I don't think there is any chance you will see the PA Speedweek change away from two races for the big 3. The Big 3 are after all primarily in control of the scheduling. They support 410s all year and I have no problem with them getting multiple races. Changing our Speedweek schedule to the above won't put us equal with Ohio Speedweek. They have the All Stars roster to help populate all of their races which is very helpful as that is some top shelf talent. I'll continue to go to all the races and be happy as can be when I'm at Port, Lincoln, and WG for the second time in Speedweek. No problem, enjoy the races nobody is getting fired.

You can rest assured that Selinsgrove will not go back to the Sunday that ends SpeedWeek, especially with Mike Heffner and Alan Kreitzer part of the team at Selinsgrove.  I'd bet the first Sunday date is now set in stone for as long as SpeedWeek lasts. Two dates are fine with me for the big-3, but I think Port and Lincoln should alternate that first Saturday.

Planning a trip out to PA for PA Speedweek. So question any highly recommended places to eat or even just places to check out while we are there?

Thanks

Depends on what you're looking for.  You owe it to yourself for a good "sit down" meal or two.  If you're going to be in the vicinity of Gettysburg, a stop at the Dobbin House Tavern (eat in the basement) will surely not disappoint. Unique setting, rich in history, and great food.  If you're hitting Hagerstown, there's an out of this world steak and seafood restaurant that's only @15 minutes from the track.  Have never had a bad meal at this place and the seafood is as good, if not better, than anything you'd drive to the eastern shore to eat!!

We all know this is the variation of Speedweek that most of the fans have been calling for for years It makes perfect sense from a fans perspective in terms of layout and travel. Although I agree Selinsgrove will be cemented into that first Sunday spot from now on and I am OK with that. I would also start off with Williams Grove at the front end. However it will never happen with the big three getting two races each.....As fans........ we can only hope and dream.

If you have time, I suggest you look at an old fashion map & take some back roads to these tracks. Highway from the Grove to Port Royal is a pretty drive, back roads even better. Carlisle to WG? Forget Pa, Turnpike, take Middlesex Road. No tolls, quicker & prettier. I already went off on this subject last week or so, then it turned out original poster was talking about KINGS Royal, not PORT Royal.... duh

Yeah I chuckled at myself for firing the Speedweek promoters.  And all of you 100% correct that we will never get the schedule we wish for. Sad but true. But hey at least we still have a Speedweek I guess. Could be worse. Just makes me frustrated because it could be great.

I think the schedule could be more interesting but would the car count be there? You already have a small number of teams who hit every race. Most of the Port guys don't run Lincoln and most of the Lincoln guys don't run Port. I'm all for switching it up to different tracks but it is something to consider when a lot of these guys only run their regular track.

Half Pint Creamery...locations near Lincoln Speedway, or the Gettysburg battlefield if you visit as suggested. You will thank me later.

If you make it to Selinsgrove, BJ's steak and ribs is the go to local restaurant in downtown. Or should you like to try craft beer or spirits, Selin's Grove Brewing in the old Gov Snyder mansion is awesome. Very tasty food and great selection of beverages in a colonial like atmoshere. I bring all my out of town friends there at least one.

One of the best races was always path valley. Gone. Why Hagerstown is on there is beyond me. How about grandview taking that spot ? Forget bedford. Lernerville would be interesting as I think some of the ohio racers may come in IF the purse would be right. ADD mercer it's a really good sprint car track and then you give western pa 2 stops, it is pa speedweek isn't it  ?

This schedule as it stands is going to be terrible. To many big tracks, and guys on small budgets can't do it. I'll be curious to see how many the 69k hits. I say 3 to 4 shows max. Any others wanna take a guess ?

Pretty much agree with that.

Path Valley is one of my faves & Hagerstown the worst. Never gonna go there again....

Don't know anything about Bedford... west Pa. right?

Everyone should try the Famous Hot Wiener in downtown Hanover, Pa at least once in their lifetime..........

There is one on Dart drive in Hanover better location easier to get to Lincoln and if you want pizza, subs,APA ,,etc etc you have to try Tommie Pizza in Gettysburg

Want more variety at P. Doing Ohio again more fun. Will pick a few in PA but certainly not all. BAPS deserves a date with all the $$ put into it and Bedford was a nice change but seems drivers did not eang to drive that far so i would bet Lernerville would certainly be out. Like Path Valleu as well.

Ashcombe’s Farm is only a mile from the Grove. Has a small deli and bake shop. Also has an ample plant inventory for thr green thumbs or if you just want to walk around and kill some time window shopping. T J RockwellIs situated directly beside Ascombe’s. Psuedo sports bar area with ample sit down area for a casual meal featuring American cuisine.

I plan on being at Williams Grove on June 28th and Lincoln on the 29th with my new Stanton 75 shirts and hoodies.

I highly recommend the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing! It's just down the road from the Grove and on the way to Lincoln.

Gettysburg is a must, even if your not into history, it's an eye opener for sure!

Stop by if you see me at the track.

I can vouch for this. Dobbin house is fantastic. There is also a little diner called the Lincoln diner which is pretty close to the center of downtown by the traffic circle. That place isn’t too bad either.

Depending on how long you do the speedweek deal and how you plan to drive to Hagerstown there is a small Irish Pub right off 15 North of Thurmont that is pretty good.

im sure others will have more suggestions.
