You see this every year with the IRA. When MOWA is advertised on the IRA schedule none of them ever show up at Wisconsin tracks because it's a non points race.

MOWA raced with the IRA at Wilmot a couple years ago I believe, on a Saturday night and they were scheduled to run at Angell Park the next night. If I remember correctly, only 2 MOWA guys showed up for that. Yes, it was a non points race but why the hell schedule it if no one is going to show? I really do not get it. Why advertise it, have people show up (because some of us really take the ads seriously) and have 2 guys show? That puts a sour taste in peoples mouths for future travels to shows in my opinion.

When the whole Badlands fiasco was going on and the Knoxville car counts were way down, I had sent Kendra a message that Knoxville could increase counts by scheduling an IRA and a MOWA race. I had made the assumption that it would probably add up to 10 cars to the counts for those nights.
I was shocked that only Balog showed. I thought Thiel, Schultz, Reinke and Neitzel and a few more might wander down as a pre-Nationals warm up. I know the IRA are smaller teams and they would not fare too well at Knoxville but still...

I think with Jackson rescheduling a lot of IRA teams decided to just stay home instead of traveling 5-6 hours for one night of racing. If Jackson would have ran Friday I bet there would have been a few more teams that would have made the trip. Race Jackson Friday then head down to Knoxville Saturda, seems more worth it for smaller teams than driving to race just Knoxville
just my thoughts

I get that, I really do, then why on earth would you even bother to have it on the schedule (non points) when you know the guys lack the HP to run the track and no one is going to show? If I was a Knoxville attendee, and saw that on the schedule, I would have expected MORE than what I got and would have been pissed. Just MY humble opinion

One reason the IRA was on Knoxville's schedule is because of Steves's ego.
Thefact that Knoxville's is hurting and needs anything and everything it can get to still look important on a weekly basis also weighs in.
You can not afford to run a motor eating 1/2 miles on a weekly basis.
I bet all the IRA teams that saw Balog's wadded up junk at the end of the night feel pretty good about their decision.

Knoxville apparently felt the same way given the priced Saturday the same as they do a weekly show.
