Port historically hasn't been nearly as tough as the Grove for outsiders. I think you'll see Both Madsens and Brown be really competitive.
|
Absolutely. Kerry was leading the '14 Outlaw race for a short bit and I think Brown finished 5th or 6th at the Outlaw show last year.

Agreed, Port is pretty much a cookie cutter, asymetrical, stomp and steer half-mile. Lots of drivers have won their first time there. It's been slick more often than not this year so that could throw the outsiders off a little. Should be a great show. The 50 has one of the best atmospheres of any race, my favorite yearly event.

And he's basically been the fastest non-outlaw this year other than Larson.
Id say he and Lance are my favorites.

Sadly, TK doesn't have a motor to compete in my opinion....
|
They're running the same Rider's that led him to double-digit wins in 2016. Including a Nationals Prelim win. Send me some of that maple syrup causing you to think this is their problem.

Take a look and see where he's qualified at Knoxville the times he's been there this year and what he's done there. He's had wins there in the past when they had a real motor in the car, half miles he's way behind the grade with real competition....

I spent a few minutes to look up TK's qualifying at Knoxville, hope you're sitting down....
38th on his qualifying night during the Nationals (all numbers below are qualifying positions)
25th at the Capitani
17th on July 22 Knoxville weekly, 13th July 15 Knoxville weekly
18th out of 20 June Outlaws show, 16 out of 21 June Outlaws show at Knoxville
The engine program sucks as TK is a driving machine, he can wheel like few others and he's proved it in the past. Heck, he had the most wins driving Steve Kinser leftover stuff in the year the Outlaws were split....

That can't all be bad luck of the draw of course, but appears to me to be more about set up than engine woes. Two flat out laps can be drastically changed mostly by gear choice, shocks....and driver line. With the emphasis on car set up.

I'll make sure to tell the car owner that his engines suck the next time I see him about town. Of course, I'll say that it's you saying that and not myself. I'll let you know how long he laughs at that.

The proof is in the pudding dummy, he can't out qualify most of the weekly guys at Knoxville and he in all reality could drive circles around most of them. You show him those numbers and ask him what's up. I have seen Tim win all over the country in a 410 and be fast doing it, not the case with this deal and facts speak for themselves. This is spread over 6 nights, not just a one night miss. If he already doesn't know this, then maybe you can help him out, of course you can't figure it out, so I think it must be something with numbers up there in the far north....

the loud pedal is buried at Port Royal or you might as well buy a sandwich and sit with us...TK is welcome if he wants to join us, Port has 700 feet of grandstands down the front stretch these days...and the owner of Rider Engines is always in the house for the big events...watching his product compete.

Yep back in Aus. He'll be back next week and drive the Highlands 3 thru Natty Open. I assume that means they'll be at Dirt Classic.

Am I crazy or does SpeedShift TV only let you buy Friday night for 24.95 or both mights for 49.95 but there is no option for Saturday only?
