Would it be any more intimidating than the wall on the front stretch? Or the wall on the backstretch of any other race tracK? It might just be camera distortion that makes it look like the walls of Jericho. I bet it reflects back the sound of the cars pretty good.

When you only race ten to twelve races a year like I do, every wall is extremely intimidating.  But in this case, maybe intimidating wasn't the right word.  Its a very unique wall!

Actually, this is the 11th time the WoO has sanctioned the race in it's 39 year history.

Murphy question,  is it really sanctioned by the WOO if they don't follow WOO's normal program?

What I mean is it's Jackson's race format, not the WOO.   Are the Knoxville nationals considered woo sanctioned?  Indont know how that works

Well.....I'm not a WoO-ologist, but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn last night....bada-BOOM!

I'd guess that if they are paying a WoO sanction fee and the WoO calls it a WoO race, then the answer is probably yes. I think that the Knoxville Nations only earns show-up points for the WoO teams. The Jackson Motorplex website article talks about the WoO sanctioning and how 10 Jackson Nationals in the past were WoO sanctioned (while the other 29 weren't.)

Sometime in the 80's I saw Bobby Allen win and Doug Wolfgang win. I'm sure those were both WoO sanctioned.

I don't care who you are that was kind of funny.

I was wondering because they had said no WOO points so far but that maybe it was just for Thursday and Friday.  Tonight they may get their points.  I think the last time the WOO was there for Nationals was like 88 or 89.  Regardless nice to see them back for the Nats,   Thx, oh I think it's The holiday inn express!  Regardless well played.

All 3 nights pay full WoO season points, and this IS the WoO 3 day format.  We'll be using it for the National Open at Williams Grove as well.  (We used it in the past at Chico, Calistoga, Williams Grove, and Eagle when all ran 3 day shows.)

It's actually the Jackson Nationals.......and the three classes support the track during the season so including all three is a good thing. Now, the event incorporates the WoO, which takes it to an all new level. Being the first year as it is, I'm sure they will fine tune the event to fit a better nightly time frame. But to have 100 sprint cars, and three divisions that can produce some very exciting racing is the best thing of all!

Well if the fans there enjoy a 6 hour 3 division show, then that's great. Where I'm from about 95% of the fans are there strictly to see the WOO/410's and would be highly agitated with the extra divisions and length of the show. A WOO show with 30-40 cars is usually a 3-4 hour show even without any support divisions. Personally I love 360's but I think 305's should stick to bullrings because they are pretty boring on a 1/2 mile.

The WoO do no not sanction the Knoxville Nationals.....they are a participating "partner".  At one time the WoO did sanction the Nationals, yes.

It is the 11th time with the WoO, but the first time under this format. Not splitting hairs here, but the primary header for the event is the 39th Jackson Nationals not the 11th WoO Jackson Nationals!

We THANK YOU for the appreciative words on this years 39th Annual AGCO Jackson Nationals sanctioned by the World of Outlaws.

We certainly didn't plan on hosting any (4) to (5) hour race events but with this big of an event we decided it would be in the best interest of the race fans in attendance to make the on track racing as good as possible. Even if it meant reworking the track surface to give you fans, the paying customers, the best possible race.

There have been many Jackson Nationals before this but Tod Quiring, Doug Johnson and the entire staff of the Jackson Motorplex wanted to raise the "bar" and make this a bigger and better event and I feel that this has been accomplished.

As with all major racing events we knew there were going to be some growing pains and these will be discussed and improved upon for next years event to continue to grow this even more. This was a great start.

You all made the decision to make the trek over to Jackson, MN. and for that we thank you. We appreciate everyone's support and we will never take that for granted.

As we begin planning next years 40th Annual Jackson Nationals we hope you all have a safe and exciting 2017 race season...z

I made the drive home from Jackson after the races and pulled into the driveway at 6am many times.  Now that drive back to Forest Lake north of St. Paul doesn't appeal to me anymore.  I got the PPV on Saturday and the races went past midnight but the walk across the hall to the bedroom wasn't too bad.

Seriously, I'm not sure why but more often than note at least the times I have gone there it has always been a late night dating back to the early 80's.  Maybe some of their weekly shows wrap up earlier but I have only gone there for specials.  Plans are to start getting back down there after I retire a year from now and have all week to get home after a race.  wink
