in my 40+ years, a rainout with NO REFUND has only occurred if all heats were completed in the program (I don't know if they were in this case, but if so, no refund would be given, it was considered a complete show).
I have never been turned down for a refund for a rain-out of a stand-alone date by anyone if it was a "special" or a race a long ways from where I lived. (especially those postponed to a date the following week, month or months later). I might have had to mail the tickets in and wait on my money, but I always got it.
Only exception I can even think of that don't even offer refunds are the Knoxville Nationals. Your tickets state that "all shows will be run" and to my recollection, they always have been, including afternoon shows, a Sunday show or the granddaddy of them all, the 1987 Nationals with Prelim night #1 @ 10:00 AM Saturday, Prelim Night #2 at 5:00 PM Saturday, Championship Night with Hotlaps @ midnight Saturday/Sunday and a one-night show for everyone not in the A main on Saturday on Sunday night @ 6:30.
King's Royal also always ran, even it that meant the sun was coming up when the checkers flew.

There was no refund offered. This was the IRA/All Star show that was cancelled after qualifying. Schedule problems led them to reschedule this race but with an IRA only sanction. The purse will remain the same ($5000) Angell Park has said that the ticket stubs/wrist bands can be used for this event, June 8th, or used during any other AP show. There would be no difference in gate price refunded. I, among thousands of others, wish they could have gotten this show in, as there were 53 sprints in the pits. It wasn't to be....

How's the show June 8 looking to be? Same payout. Aren't the WoOs and the All Stars sort of in the area?

Was there that night also. Think it was a biertzer that crashed. That has to be the most fence I have ever seen torn down. That was ridiculous running the small tracks non banked sharp turn coming onto the front stretch. it was just a matter of time. I remember they gave us a choice though as many only came for the sprints. You could take a full refund and leave or stay with the 1/2ish refund and watch the support classes which raced on without the fence even using the 1/2 mile.

I don't remember having the choice, but back then, I did drink a little excessively.

Most of the all stars can't make the trip out there, especially before two more days in Illinois and then Iowa before headed back to Ohio for speedweek the next weekend. That's the reason that was given as to why the All Stars weren't gonna resanction it, since not all drivers could come. Would be very surprised personally if any All stars will be there. But Tony Stewart will be there so all is right with the world... I initially had the race on PPV for the cushion but after seeing all star sanction was dropped I asked for a refund. Shame looked like it woulda been a great race if they had got it in on the original date.

Yeah. That's true. It was nice and pretty competitive field a month ago though. Will guys like PPM and Henderson come back?
I guess we'll be able to tell as the week goes on. There have been some great races there. Boy, the Gumout shows were great.

It may be easier to get some guys showing up at AP, considering the All Stars are not running anywhere and neither are the Outlaws. Plus, the purse is $5000 to win. Friday is a different story, with the All Stars at Lincoln, IL and Outlaws are in Knoxville. Those shows may keep shoes away from Oshkosh. It will be my first visit to Oshkosh

I actually heard that Henderson will on full time with the Thone car for the rest of this season.

Anyway, hope you see a good one. That track can be great. I live here but hardly go anymore unless I hear some travelers are showing. Probably went to 15-20 straight at one point.

Be interesting to see if they can actually organize a decent show and get it in before curfew. Their last show had 20 cars and ended badly at 11:30 with everyone arguing about the finish with a yellow/checker.

Ashland was a great sprint car show. Close heats, entertaining feature. Cant help it when these support classes, namely modifieds, have near 40 cars and crash every 3 laps. I have been saying it from the start, IRA and 2 support classes TOPS, preferably open wheel. Nobody who pays $20 to watch a sprint car program will complain about seeing great racing and being on the road by 9:30. People complain when they pay $20 to watch sprint cars, and sit there until midnight watching 3 support classes constantly spinning every other lap prior to the 410 feature. Angell Park is a diff story. Midgets and Legends keep it rolling and are fun to watch.

I agree here for the most part. However, ya know what doesn't keep it moving? The dash draw for the IRA which, if I had to guess, has an average time this year of about 20 minutes (pretty sure the one at Burlington earlier this year took about 45 minutes). Draw, and keep the show moving along.

Wait until the fans roll in expecting to see an All-star show and are treated to an IRA race. Kind of like going to the dealer to pick up your Corvette that you've already paid for and they hand you keys to a Cobalt. Guaranteed to be a lot of disgruntled people.
Money should have been refunded. It's the old bait and switch feeling now.

can't say it's going to be a normal IRA show considering that you will at least add Stewart, McCarl, Dollansky, and a few other travelers
