I've seen a lot of good ones at this year at all the Central PA tracks but the one that stands out most up to this point is definitely the 410's at Trail-Way.

We're approximately halfway through the racing season now. Curious about people's opinions on the best races they've seen so far in 2016. I'll post mine later.

The champ car race at the Grove. 100 laps on a tall cushion, a Ford passing everyone, Toyota blowing up trying to stay ahead, no regulated chinese 1989 Maxim clones being called "outlaw" and "the greatest", perfect weather........... a miracle perhaps.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

(shaking my head while chuckling) You're like a puppy with a frisbee, you just don't let go. Someone alert the media, minthess found something that he liked at an open wheel race! Holy shit!
In all seriousness though, if it was a good race for you, then I'm happy for you. My parents went to that race and thought it was really good too.
I haven't been able to get to too many races so far this year, because of my schedule, but I enjoyed the Silver Cup at Lernerville. Gravel and Schatz navigating traffic, some hard slicing and dicing midpack, and I actually witnessed Donny Schatz make a mistake in a big money 410 show. How often does that happen?

Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial race at Silver Dollar was one of the best races I've seen in many years. 40 laps nonstop, 7 or 8 lead changes, wild action all over the track.

Jackson last Friday 07-29, great features and some of the best heat races I have ever seen, there was action and slide jobs all over the track.

You should check out his Twitter feed sometime. It's actually pretty scary. I've never in my life seen someone so obsessed with something. If "Ford" was a woman, he'd no doubt have some restraining orders against him because he's like a stalker. If you played a drinking game where you took a shot for each Ford reference, you'd be passed out and pissing yourself within minutes. The dude needs serious help. Anyway, I was at the Silver Cup too and it's definitely in my top 3 so far. That was one hell of a race on a nice wide surface. Not only was there action up front but all the way through the field. It was impossible to keep track of it all.

I saw that. A little too steep if you ask me. Port sometimes goes a little too high with admission prices. Been that way for years. I do think it will be a very good show though. Port has been putting on some damn good racing over the past few years. Hopefully the track surface will be like it has been the last couple of races. They were pounding it down just a bit too hard there for awhile.

Port's show Sat. is time trials, two 16 lap semi features payig $2,000 to win, a B main, I am not sure if they have the non qualifers race this year or not, and super latemodels paying $2,000 to win for a total one night purse of $65,000. What would be a fair admission price for that? Student admission (12 to 18) is $7 with under 12 free.

They need to stop adding the late models to all these big sprint car shows. That's what drives admission up and I don't think they add enough people to the crowd to really make it worth it. I understand the need for a support division and that's what econo lates are for. They race for next to nothing so you can still have a support division and you don't need to charge such a high admission price.

I know people from soom areas don't get it but there are a lot of late model fans in Port's fan base (Port, Selingrove, many from Maryland) besides if you are not afraid to stay for them you just might see some really good racing. With Lincoln running a full show of support classes only a few fans from there will come so most of Port's fan Sat. will come from areas where late models are liked.

Where were all those people when they tried to run a LM speedweek show without sprints on the card? They lost their asses big time. I know it was midweek but they've had midweek sprint car speedweek shows and they did just fine. Port Royal is a sprint car track. End of story. All they accomplish by adding late models to the big shows is being forced to add money to the admission price. I'll guarantee they'd have just as good of a crowd, maybe even better (assuming the admission would be cheaper), if they ran sprints only on Saturday.
