Funny! Knoxville didn't run double purse, double points the week of the Kings Royal! Oh wait they aren't running any points that night! Why?  Because they have Class.

but those tracks are 552 miles apart knoxville shouldnt affect the kings royal right?......

C'mon Knoxville fans, let it go already.  Chuck will be Chuck, and more money is going to be thrown around, and drivers that race for a living will have to go for the money.  Knoxville is tradition, Knoxville is history, Knoxville means something throughout the sport from coast to coast.  Chuck can't buy that, it will have to be earned.  He is not going to pay attention to the sport long enough to do that.  Until then, let him have his fun, let him make it rain for the drivers, just know he will disappear long before he can claim to be on equal footing with Knoxville.

I will say Chuck has gotten the pay to go up and that is certainly a positive and long overdue, Kudo's for that! In the same breath i will say that yes they are concerned about what goes on in Knoxville or they would not be so quick to point out car counts or schedule at the last second like they are. I have noticed all season they are just kinda making up the Pay, the Points, and the Rules as they go along. Again you can kinda see in each instance it is aimed at Knoxville to a certain degree.. My only hope would be that they all could work together NSL included.. There are alot of positives that are coming out of this, but there are also a few negatives. At the end of the season it sure will be intresting to see how the Big 3 all look at things for next year.. Hopefully there is long term viability for all 3..

No way Badlands goes away from racing Sat nights not with all the North Dakota guys making the trip on Sat nights.  It's great those guys have place to race on Sat nights.

I've actually been expecting this. And of course I expect the same idiots will think this is a great deal for Badlands.....and be happy that their leader is pissing all over a prestigious race and facility. But is he really? Think about it.....This isn't being done by Brennan for the drivers....especially the top 5 or so.....he's actually holding them hostage. Saying "Sorry boys, if you choose to race a certain event I'm going to penalize you!"  So the 360 Nationals will be short maybe 5 or 6 drivers. Big deal! The 360 nationals will survive and Brennan will have pissed down his own pant leg simply because of ego. I think it's funny that some don't see through this. If he was straight up as a track owner and self proclaimed promoter, when he does something like this he would make it something extraordinary and spread the money throughout the field rewarding all his loyal drivers and teams. Not just a top few.

gohotfoot.....you seem to think it no big deal that Knoxville is running a non points race the weekend of the Kings Royal. Well you simply don't recognize class. There are drivers that run at Knoxville that do want to run the Kings Royal and Knoxville understands that. Why penalize your drivers that are going to run the Kings Royal? It's evident that Terry McCarl wanted to run the 360 Nationals. Why would Brennan want to stand in his way? I'll let others answer that. And for that matter the fans at the Kings Royal that want to see some of the top drivers from the Midwest will get that opportunity.

So c'mon you few and let me have it. You will never justify this move to the vast majority of sprint car fans.

Yes it gives the NOSA drivers another saturday night place to race at.
Especially when there's no Saturday night NOSA specials going on.  We'll see how many show this Saturday or as a matter of fact 3 of the next 4 Saturdays as there are races scheduled @ Devils Lake, ND / Glyndon & Greenbush MN.

I'm sure that there will probably be 3 -5 cars that will come down to BMS, but definitely not the 10 -12 like they've been averaging this season.

Exactly, the top point guys at Badlands are tied to it for that weekend, no choice now. Consider that Dobmeier usually doesn't run the 360 Nationals (has he ever?) and that he'll likely be racing at Badlands and it's a no brainer for the other point contenders. They have to stay. In my opinion this is hurts both fans and race teams alike. So then one should ask, who does this benefit? The answer will tell you everything you need to know about Chuck's intentions.

Knoxville has had a regular points night the same night as the kings royal in the past.  Just because it isn't a points race this year doesn't make them SOOOOO classy.  I don't have a problem with Knoxvilles decision, but how many Knoxville drivers will go east?  2??   3??

Well nowhere, obviously. Thus the discharge, if you want to call it that. I can't see how this move will please the fans, or the drivers. I'll remind you that it's only double pay for the top two finishers.

Nailed it. People need to look beyond the large sums of money he's throwing around. Is it good that racers out there are getting paid more money? Absolutely! No one would argue that. It's the repercussions of how and why it's being done that are the problem. There's no doubt, Chuck has set his sights on Knoxville. I know people want to believe that he's just paying the racers the kind of money they deserve but he isn't doing it to help them or the sport of sprint car racing. He's gone after Knoxville since the very beginning. It's almost as if in some respects it's a game for him. He is dead set on knocking Knoxville out and his actions prove that 100%. I'm not sure why he'd want to do that but for whatever reason, that seems to be his goal. That isn't good for anybody. Good healthy competition is a good thing, war NEVER is and it looks like he's declared war on Knoxville. The racers that he's throwing money at are in a state of euphoria right now because they're makinv fist fulls of money but eventually, after they get bought time and time again, they're going to feel like a piece of property and lets face it, if Chuck has his way, the drivers who race at Huset's will race EXCLUSIVELY at Huset's. In my opinion, he is throwing all this money around for one reason: control. He doesn't want "his" teams racing anywhere else. He's been in business for a long time and he knows the easiest way to gain control, is to buy it with large sums of money. So what will happen the first time Terry McCarl or one of those guys basically say the hell with it we're running at Knoxville tonight or wherever else? That's when it might get ugly. I hope I'm wrong because I love the sport of sprint car racing and I want it to flourish not only here at home, but from coast to coast and even down under in Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, in the end, I don't see Chuck and his ego doing anything but harm once it's all said and done.

I think that the Kings Royal went to a 3 day event had a lot to do with Knoxville's decision. Being a 3 day show and the fact it now offers up $320,000.00 for the three days may indeed draw more drivers from our area, when they know they aren't losing points to those who don't go. Also, the KR pays much better from second on back than it did before, enticing a larger field of cars and fans.

Yup.  And hey, it's not like there hasn't been a 410 points race at Huset's every year of the 360 Nationals but they never made the show double points and increased the purse, not put it on the schedule, and then went public with it less then a month before the event.

Sorry it was sarcasm, everyone always brings up the 300+ miles between kville and husets I thought I'd save them time!

The fine print he doubled the pay for (2) racers! Not all which in all reality the guys 5 on down probably need a double purse more then 1st and 2nd
