sorry didnt sammy just win the kings royal 3 years ago?..bottom line is he can get the job done but has to have the equipment to get it done..cjb has had problems in the past trying to field 2 cars so obviously there is a situation brewing here

That just reinforces my point about the tires. Yes, Sammy won the King's in 2012. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's the last year they ran Goodyear Tires? If not the last year, I do believe that year was on Goodyears. Either way, Sammy has been a mid packer or even lap traffic since the switch back to Hoosiers. He qualifies OK sometimes, but as soon as the track slicks he goes backwards. I personally don't think the problem is the driver here. There's nothing wrong with the equipment either. He needs a crew chief.

barry jackson was supposed to be the crew chief but all of a sudden sammy is doing the set ups again and i agree he does struggle with set up on the hoosiers..would like to see him get a good young crew chief but not sure that will happen

he does say on his twitter that he will be at the royal but he may not have a ride..the whole premise of the deal with cjb was to run the big money races so to pull out of the royal to me indicates there is a problem or they totally want to focus on gravel..if thats the case sammy needs to take big game and all the $$ he bought in sponsorship to cjb and move on

Ironic & sad thing is back when he was still winning on Goodyears, he lost 2 major races when the tires blew.... that must be frustrating

It's a fact that there is nothing at all on Sammy's twitter page regarding this issue.
It's a fact that your opinion only says the Royal is a lottery race
It's a fact that your definition of WoO races being won up front generally happen but the real fact is the 15 wins from anywhere and this is usually not an exception
It's a fact that you are wrong about anybody in the pits having a chance to win the Royal. I'd say somewhere between 25-40 percent at best.

The royal is won most of the time by one of the heat race winners and qualifications are rewarded to who can qualify 13 through 24 which is always up sammys alley and sits him pretty on the front row of his heat which means he walks the dog in the heat and he will start 1 through 6 which gives him a shot okay....the 15 car is a two time winner at eldora of the royal but the 15 does not run well there so he is of much of a threat as sammy or byron reed okay..... Now go back and read twitter and focus to see the facts
I am saying anyone has a shot cause kreitz won it', herrera won it,and jason sides,so make the race and any swinging dick can win it okay...... Im not bawling im upset cause i want to see sammy compete and im disapointed he wont race and cant understand why?
clearly you hate sammy so stay out of a thread about him and troll elsewhere looking to get a rise out of someone else please

I understand where your coming from.I really wanted to see Sammy at Eldora I only get to see him at Eldora and Lernerville.its depressing.just hope something changes the next couple weeks.Go Sammy!!

I wish he would move on or just retire for good but holding him out of the royal makes no sense at all. Cjb commented and said that they want him to run more nsl races citing the reason for the schedule change. Problem is there are no nsl races kings royal weekend and sammy will race july 2nd and not race again till july22nd according to his schedule. So he essentially will stay home for 20 days and miss the month of money alltogether except for schatzville nationals. This blows cause sammy dont have 10 more years to do this but cjb would rather use him for a marketing tool and his sponsors then have him race is all i can gather. I cant understand That tod quiring would want him not racing month of money either i guess he would rather sammy sit at home also..... Sorry for my ranting but this has me baffled and down cause Eldora is the only place i can watch him race

Heard from a credible sports writer and pocaster,hmmmm, that Sammy had plans of running some of Pa Speedweek although it was never on his schedule. Apparently no one knows now if that is still happening. I sure hope so, would be great.

The CJB team has proven time and again that they are not the best team in the world to race for. The handling of Rahmer, Stevie Smith, and now Sammy just seems to make no sense. Particularly when it comes to a second car. It seems apparent the only reason Sammy is on board with this team is because they knew he'd bring the Big Game dollars with him. Although Sammy isn't what he used to be (who is), he's no doubt a showmaker at the Royal and the Don Martin Memorial. And once you're in, who knows what can happen.
Disappointed with this, but not surprised.

if there was a smart car owner out there with decent equipment they would be wise to give sammy a ride at the kings royal and i agree that they should not field a second team with there history that speaks for volumes imo..sammy may be getting older but his abilities to win big races is still there given the right situation unlike what is happening right now with cjb and them using him as a marketing tool

If I am not mistaken that was probably Clyde Knipp's first career A-Main finish ahead of Schatz as well.

Would love to see Sammy in one of the Rahmer or Krietz cars,they never run the Kings Royal but it would be a great combo for either of them and Swindell. lots of other good rides there every year that just need a better Shoe ! agree the CJB deal was just a money grab

Maybe it has something to do with him getting lapped and not being competitive at Knoxville and other tracks where he has always run well. Have you noticed the King has hung it up as well. I would say they have to much pride to be back markers getting lapped.

please cjb wake the hell up and put sammy in the month of money!..half the reason your having success with gravel is because that legend that runs the #1 car brought you the $$ from big game to fund your operation so again from all sammt fans wake the hell up and put that car in the month of money where it belongs and its driver belongs!!
