I used to really like Geo but I lost a lot of respect for him both as a driver and a person after what looked to me like he did after Jacob passed him the other night (Fed him a right rear and took his front end out) and then the making fun of him for taking a mental health break last season to spend time with his family. Geo doesn't have a clue what Jacob has gone through following the Outlaw tour full time for like 8 or 9 full seasons from fledgling team to competing for wins. Geo needs to learn some respect, I wish Jacob was the type to rap him in the chops next time he see's him and teach him some...
The older I get the faster I was

Why would anyone love somebody making fun of another person's mental health issues?????
& how do you know they were mental health issues anyway? maybe he just needed a break....

I can't speak for either. I just know I've said a lot worse toward my fellow competitors and vice versa on a very local level through social media.
94 times out of 103 its usually tongue in cheek to rib the other. They are probably going to laugh at everyone making a big deal out of it.
If its the other side of emotions, its just going to make for better television.

I got a different vibe. I didn't think Gio was making fun of another person's mental health issues----and I'm purely speculating here. Jacob did not, nor does he need to explain in depth why he abruptly left the WoO last year. It's not my business. However, to claim the schedule was burning him out lost a little bit of validity when he "committed" to running the entire 60 race HL series. Then, it lost a lot of validity when he not only had all 60 races of the HL races on his schedule, but was the only driver to compete in all HL races and all WoO races through 9 or 10 races. He's pretty much thrown that theory out the window as far as I'm concerned. So, not knowing what goes on in the pits, and what is known or not known, I think there's more to this than Gio making fun of Jacob's mental health issues. But that's coming from a farmer/machinist, and not from a doctor. Maybe we can ask Dr. Phil.

I thought the whole exchange was funny. Just two guys busting each other's chops a bit. Jacob and Gio are my two favorite drivers and I think the thing on-track was really just a racing deal. Gio doesn't strike me as a dirty driver to be honest. I think he made a split-second decision to take that line when Gravel dove under him. In a situation like that the guy on the outside almost always comes out on the losing end. I was bummed that Jacob was knocked out as I think he could have won, but that kind of thing happens all the time.

I thought it was funny as well and generally like both of the drivers. Takes a lot to offend me I guess. I don't think Gio is dirty nor was it his intent. Racing incidents happen. Dirty to me is when you blatantly go out of your way to wreck someone. Slide jobs, blocks, etc are usually racing deals. When your behind a car and don't lift through the tail tank then that's where it gets pretty dirty.

I didn't actually hear what Gio said, I'm just going by the original post
I don't think committing to a bunch of races this year in any way invalidates what Jacob did last year. He needed a break, got it & now feels ready to go. We can't read his mind or know how he feels. I'm just glad he racing again....

I don't have any insight about anything but maybe he just needed a break? I know people will say he gets a break in the offseason but maybe that's not the break he was looking for? Maybe not being around racecars at all for a bit (I've always had the impression they don't really get an offseason since I'm guessing they do a lot of the building of the cars in the offseason but I don't know that either) recharged his batteries? Who's to know but I think all of us at some point have been burned out with something and take a break from it and realize you miss it. Again I don't have any insight but I can see how he is telling the complete truth but like you said, it's nobody's business. It's also possible he was tired of the arrangement they had? Who knows?
