(September 18, 2016) - Promoters Mark Brill and George Welch have talked about the need for a modified touring series in Oklahoma and they have decided to test response to the idea this Saturday at Oklahoma Sports Park.
The Sooner Modified Series will hold its first race as part of the Oklahoma Dirt Championships at Oklahoma Sports Park.
Drivers will draw for heat race starting positions where they will earn feature starting positions. The A feature pays $750 to win and $125 to start.
If drivers show an interest in this series then a regular schedule of races will be booked for the 2017 season.
Besides the Sooner Modified Series the Oklahoma Dirt Championships will also see competition in sport mod, stock car, pure stock, economy sport mods and Racesaver 305 sprints.
