Moon Byers, the steady hand behind Fred Rahmer, Stevie Smith, Freddie Rahmer, & Brandon Rahmer. Look at his whole career of work.

They are a key part of any good sprint car team.Who are they?

Sonny Kratzer has helped a lot of teams and drivers out over the years. One of the best in my opinion.

Guy Forbrook.. Lotta wins for the cars he's wrenched on..
|
^+1 ^
I dont see him often but when I do he always has a minute to shake your hand and give you a smile. His no bullshit attitude and desire to win is something that very few have, all while doing it in a wheelchair! Kudos to you Guy, I will always cheer for your car!

Crew chief Fred Grenoble for Doug Wolfgang on the 29 Weikert sprint car. He and Wolf were a winning combination for several years running a true outlaw schedule where they traveled to all of the $10,000 to win or better races instead of running for points. Unfortunately Fred passed away in 2014. A very hard working guy who kidded about getting married or finding steady girlfriends during the winter, only to divorce or break up come spring when race season got going.

Fred was not the crew chief when Wolfie was driving. Davey Brown Sr. & Jr.

Just to add to Moons storied career in which he started helping Steve Smith when he was just 12 years old, advanced himself along to driving a midget until injury, Cris Eash, Steve Smith on the WOO tour earning 2 2nd place point finishes behind the King along with all drivers in the Hamilton 77 until 2004 where he went to form the J & S Fabrication car which sat on the pole of Knoxville Nationals with Kenny Jacobs, Middlesworth Chip car with Layton which included Port Royal Championships, Rob Sell & Fred again & as of now the 3 cars that make up the Rahmer stable. I know of no other crew chief that over sees 3 different cars & has had varied success with the kids, but Stevies reborn career is inpeccable with Moons experiance twisting the wrenches again...A much overlooked local fixture with a very humble personality & never 1 to brag or flaunt his incredible overall abilities to maintain & repair the cars.
Alot of feature wins earned with help of Ray "Moon" Byers!!!! I would have to estimate it reaching into the 600 win range
