alright well give this blog thing a try, our first post we'll start out with the canadian sprint car nationals weekend from last year because even though it didnt end the way we wanted it to, it was still a fun weekend
For the trip to Ohsweken Speedway for the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, our owner decided to follow the hauler in his motorhome. So that left our driver Joe, Zach, and I in the tractor headed to Canada. If you know us then you know right there that combo is a great time by ourselves in the hauler on the way up. As we approach the boarder every one picks up there bags in the hauler, and gets our passports and paper work ready, we were able to get through without any problems, which is amazing, because we seem to always have problems getting across for what ever reason. Once we got to the track we had quite a few hours until we needed to unload, so we got everything parked, and got out the fishing poles. We love to fish on the road, as much as we can, thats why its such a plus to go to Ohsweken because it has some great fishing there. we caught a bunch of fish, but like normal our one crew member Zach didn’t catch jack. Once we got done fishing it was time to get serious and get the car unloaded and ready for battle for the Friday nights portion of the nationals. We started in the back of the heat race, made it up to 3 which was a transferring position, so we were happy. Then Joe was in the young guns race in Memory of Kevin Ward Jr. we started 12 from a bad pill draw. we were making some head way until we had a part failure and got plowed by another car, which resulted in our car getting pretty messed up. Im thinking “ great there goes our fun for tonight” driver was okay, car was not. it came back off the hook, with everything bent, so we started to tear it apart and resemble it. Heres he kicker while we were doing this we where surrounded by about 60 people having a huge party, with great food, and ice cold beer. which is a normal occasion at the Nationals, so as everyone stands around the car staring at us and telling us how to put the car back together, and telling us we are doing it wrong. A nice gentleman walked over and gave us some warm beer to have since we were 95% done with the car, “ Yeah just what we wanted Warm Beer, after busting butt all night to get the car back together” Saturday morning we found some issues with the car that we werent able to find thrashing on it the night before. We didnt bring a back up car with us and it wasnt worth the risk of running an unsafe car. So we hung around with our racing buddies all day and night and headed home the next morning. With everyone cold and tired it was a pretty quiet ride home, until we stop to fuel up and get some coffee, as we are walking out of the truck stop we see a lady sitting on the back of a flat bed, someone mentions “theres a lot lizard” we start laughing but our one crew guy Zach didn’t seem to get it, as he is looking on the ground for a real lizard, Joe spoke up and said “ Zach!!! its not a real lizard” and went on to explain to him what a true lot lizard was. Our weekend at the 2015 Canadian nationals had its ups and downs but we always make it funny no matter what
