I agree.  Kenny Butler's car is a piece of crap.  Its amazing he did as good as he did in it.  He should get out of that deal as fast as possible.

LMAO!!!!! What he said. But the driver was good!

Is sellers gonna run that beast next year?

Would like to interject this into this best 2 Bar. driver thread, Chris Burns did go out of town back in 99,00,01 when Charlie Peters was booking us shows at Ardmore , Ada ,Clinton along with Len Larkin booking shows at Muskogee and Salina and Caney and other venues, he ran most all of them when the 100" cars were in there last years and the wingless sprints with starters ran on the 1/4 mile at SFS. As then as well as now the guy won races witnessed wins at Muskogee when Larkin was just starting the OCRS deal, hell it did not even have the name yet ,He also won races at Ardmore and other places as my car participated with then driver Tommy Holder in the Ardmore , Ada venues when they ran the winged 2 Bar. , So to say he does not go out of town is not a true statement.

This part in red is WRONG!!!! 01? That's years ago!! We're talking NOW. When was the last time he left the city limits and won consistantly? He needs to get more wins under his belt before I consider him a great driver. Like I said he's good a SFS but that's all.

Topic Name: who is the best 2-barrell sprint racer in the state?

Like it says. Stick to the topic!!! When drivers can win at other tracks other than the home track then they should be considered great in the state.

Guess I did not "stick to the topic" NOW not THEN, or is it NOW not LATER, Unfreakinbelievable!

Well smithnonracer, I don't see where there is a timetable as to where and when you have to have traveled. I am sure if you paid for the fuel for them to travel then they would do that. They just don't have the funding to do that every Saturday night.

You have just eliminated Frank Dittman with your "reasoning." Might as well eliminate Robert Sellers too as he just races Lawton on Saturday nights and SFS on Friday nights.

Fact about Chris Burns ole wise one. Chris has competed in the two Ada OCRS shows and finished fourth in the first race and WON in the second race competed there. JD nailed it from those previous years on what Chris achieved and I believe a couple of years ago competed in more than a couple of OCRS races. Most of those races are held in the Eastern part of the state so yes, it will be hard for our local guys to haul up in that area. Also, why spend money on a two barrel when you can spend just a bit more and run with the ASCS Sooner region for more money all the way around?

You also say "NOW?" I see nowhere in the title where it says "who is the best 2-barrell sprint racer in the state right now." If you bring up who is the best sprint car driver out there and 9 times out of ten your going to hear Steve Kinser, and he isn't close to winning the WoO championship and didn't win NST last year.

JD, you do realize that school is back in session for all Jr. High kids and they are still seeing what different colors can do on paper and message boards and I believe that is part of his homework assignment.

I have this strange feeling that, even though this is probably the most different people to have frequented tidbits that there will be more of this kind of stuff. I just hope it doens't run off the tidbits faithful that has been here since it first began almost eight years ago.

UH OH I might NOT be "sticking to the topic" MY BAD.

Hey Boutwell, I think Kenny and Silver Fox give each other a piece of each others mind quite often and it makes for a quite interesting conversation.

Sorry folks, I was just adding my 2 cents. But I guess that's what posting on a forum is about. You notice I didn't berate anyone. I wont stoop to that. It's a waste of my time and those that read the forum.

But I do apologize if I offended anyone on here.

I could have said that Burns cheats, but didn't.

lol. riiiiiiiight.

car ain't a piece of crap man! and he did good in it this year. I'm sayin after the some of the moves he pulled in that 4 car in Lawton he's obviously more comfortable in it. and in all likelihood........as good a driver as he is..........he'll be even more comfortable in the 14 car next year. no need for sarcasm. I'm not downin your ride...........

geez david you are old.LOL. Dolly Parton? bunch of old guys. lol. j/k

JD you could draw humor out of anything. lol.

But I hear what you're sayin about Burns racin other tracks.......when I looked up results back in 2000 I'd see his name in there. SO here is me walkin a fine line in the middle.....................yes I'd like to see more of our okc regs get out and race at other tracks and series more. But at the same time........the fact that Burns or Dittman or anyone else does not do that much is not a reflection on their driving abilities. If they only run SFS on friday nights.........foremost I'm happy as hell to see em there racin. It's our pleasure as fans to be able to see the show these sprinters put on at okc. And if they dont go race somewhere or something else......o well. People (especially racers) do have other responsibilities and commitments.

thats my take on it.

LMFAO! now thats really funny!

I'll laugh at that one for a few hours.

Cheese you're a doped up mess man..............

instead of the bonehead sayin it might be better to have a disclaimer stating your innocence of drug use. If only all of us could be so fortunate................historically speaking of course.

The way you worded it and came across is what got myself wound up but I can't speak for the others. You are intitled too your opinion but don't get hasty when somebody (such as JD) posts their opinion. Everybody has their own opinion and they can't be wrong for that, just as you can't be wrong for what you believe. I honestly think it is Jamie Passmore or Kenneth Walker with Sellers thrown in the mix. All three are tough at any given race - at any given time.

What it boils down to is the fact that Ada could be one hell of a show next Saturday night (the 22nd) so I would suggest if you have nothing on the agenda, show up as it could be a hoot.
