I think about 47 Sprint Cars qualified. 5 heats, they took 3 from each. Two semi's they took 4 each.

Main Event - 23 cars

Ford Started 2nd Finished 1st

Porte I think started 8th and finished 2nd

Crawford started 9th and finished 3rd.

Taylor and Henry were up there too.

Porte and Sheridan got together in turn 3 coming to the checkers and Sheridan flipped hard.

Thats all I got....

"got this from VRAFAN.com"

As of this moment I do not have any official results from VRA.
I checked scrafan and they do not have them posted at this time either.
As soon as I receive the results I will post them.

I was told that the top 5 were:
1. Josh Ford
2. Greg Porte
3. Jimmy Crawford
4. Davey Pombo
5. Greg Taylor

This list is unofficial.

From SMS 7-29-07 Edited to contain only VRA-Bandit Grand Slam info.

Press Release

Santa Maria, CA - July 28, 2007...Century 21 Hometown Realty Bandit/VRA Grand Slam Sprint Cars showed up 50 strong for the running of the CCIS Information Solutions sponsored event Saturday night at Santa Maria Speedway. The sprinters were joined by IMCA Modifieds and Mini Stocks.

*Eric Severson, of Torrance, came out on top in qualifying with a lap of 14.708 seconds but it was Josh Ford, of Camarillo, who came out on top in the 30-lap "A" main event. Ford started outside of row one and led every lap to move into a tie for the lead in the Grand Slam point standings. The race went well until the 21st circuit when things came to a grinding halt with a red flag for a three car pileup exiting turn two, and another for a two-car tangle on the restart. All five drivers walked away and the race went on without serious incident until the final lap. Danny Sheridan was running second going into the last two turns of the final lap, when Atascadero's Greg Porte made an inside move on the Santa Maria driver going into turn three, their wheel touched, and Sheridan went flipping up to the wall as the checkers waived for Ford. Sheridan too was uninjured. Porte finished second, followed by Ventura's Jimmy Crawford, Kerman's Davey Pombo, and Grand Slam co-point leader Greg Taylor of Ojai. Porte and Chris Wakim, of Simi Valley, captured 12-lap "B" main events and 10-lap heat race wins went to Pombo, Taylor, Jimmy Thompson, of Grover Beach; Hobie Conway, of Ventura; and Brent Camarillo of Camarillo.

Not sure i have ever seen porte take anyone out. He is one of the cleanest drivers out there. Showtime thats a different story. He could not pull off a slide job if he was the only car out there. How soon we forget just a few weeks ago when SHOWTIME used crawford i believe as a drive thru at santa maria, but we all no it was not danny s fault!! Maybe danny will race people A little cleaner, since he does not like being on the recieving of a bad crash.
