LVC website shows Saturday night's sprintcar winner gets $7,500 with $10,000 for Sunday night. Some great work going on behind the scenes.

Just looked at Website and it didn't confirm your post. The note, dated 8-22-13, says $5000 on Saturday and $7500 on Sunday

The increase to the Sprint Car purse is true- $7,500-to-win on Saturday and $10,000-to-win on Sunday. Troy Hennig, who writes for Calistoga Speedway, is working on a press release. I have posted the news on Facebook and Twitter.

I like that. Maybe someone will come up with the $2500 for Saturday and make it an even 10 grand for all four races.

10-4 on that. It sounds like it will be the best field of cars/drivers in the history of the LVC...and the biggest purse. Hope you're going.

Gonna ride up Friday to fair oaks . Then I get to ride into Calistoga . Gonna take the 128 through the canyon, then take silverado trail right to the track. Two nights there then the gold cup . Gonna be a great 9 day trip , with 6 days of racing.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

No my sister has a house there. So I stay there . It's kind of in the middle of stoga and Chico. about 85 miles each way and about 25 minutes from placerville. Are you coming over Bob ? Stop and pick up kenny on the way. I pick Bell to win the midgets and the Demon in the Sprints.

So is it ok to assume that pretty much all of the KWS teams will pull the wings off. Also the WoO have no race on Sunday night. They are in Wa that weekend. So if TK or any others with a Cali connection may come down and jump in a ride. KWS has nothing scheduled until a couple weeks into sept. We have the USAC/CRA, Usac western classics, KWS drivers , chico 410 drivers , hell for that matter the Usac 360s and civil war series guys dont have anything scheduled these two nights. My guess for car counts is 45+ for midgets and sprints.

I agree, they should have a good car count. In the past however a lot of the regular Norcal winged guys don't show. Don't get me wrong Hurst won last year race and Forsberg shows on Sunday and usually fairs well, and a few others. But most like the wings and the short tracks. Calistoga is way too fast a place to come to if you need a crutch (wing) to get around in your regular racing. My guess would be 30-35 midgets and 30-35 real sprintcars.

Exactly Top 5...I would consider the drivers that show at Calistoga in REAL racecars to be the professionals of the sport as opposed to weekenders...Oh and because I'm a homer I'll pick Rico in the midgets and Larson in the sprints Sunday.
