Completely my personal opinion, but no sprint car race on a half mile track should ever be more than 30 laps.

I Like the 50 laps, limitaions to only tires & fuel during the mandatory stop might be a good thing, the 25th position! All I can say about that is the World Challenge seemed more exciting than in years past, maybe because of the added bonus.

This ain't NASCAR...end the 50 lapper......
Racing Sprint Cars requires TWO BALLS to drive!
Racing anything else requires NONE!

Not a fan of the 50 lap format. Other than shatz, that race pretty much sucked. Looked like slot car racing.
305's are the herpes of sprint cars

It would be interesting to see statistics what the average number of yellow and red flag situations during WOO features are.
During shorter races I have seen there are many times a couple reds and many times lots of yellows.
So really the fuel stop at the nationals in not too uncommon of an occurance for a regular feature.
Keep the 50 laps, it gives time to race and times for things to happen.

Agreed... 30 Laps and no pre determined stops. If theres a red push em around for FUEL ONLY, NO TIRES. If theres no red you better have enough fuel. I feel that Friday Night shouldnt lock anyone into the A, If ya dont Qualify for the A on your prelim night, heres your chance to requalify. BUT the once the points get worked out the top points guy who didnt get in the A, starts on the pole of the B and transfer 8. Also dont like the World Challenge Transfer... If ya do that, why not the National Open, Kings Royal..... winners be included, just dont make sense.

50 laps is far too many, the last half of the race last night was BORING and inevitable. Sprint cars folks, sprinting to victory not running a marathon. It is easy to monitor how many laps have been run, including cautions etc. and if you have to stop the dang thing for fuel only, it won't happen all that often and hasn't in the past, more comments to follow.....Thanks to Knoxville for a great week, again more to follow.....

It is only unprecedented because previous guys that have come through the B (S Kinser, Wolfgang, Lasoski, S Swindell, J Swindell just to name a few) didn't have 50 laps and a scheduled pit stop.
Lasoski finished 4th in 2006 after coming out of the B and starting 24th, he was the fastest car on the track at the end of 30 laps...
1995 saw Jeff Swindell come out of the B, start 22nd and finish 2nd after 30 laps...
Schatz win is impressive but its not the most impressive drive that has ever been done at Knoxville on Sat night given the current format.

I must have went to a different race then you. I could of swore some guy in a 63 car came from 19th to 5th. Then there was some kid in a 1kl car that started 17th and got to 6th. Seems like the only people upset on here just didn't want to see Donny win. I just don't know how to complain about a race that the guy that won it came from the B and put on one of the best performances ever at the Knoxville nationals. I can see next year already. If Donny is starting on the second or third row of the A it should only be a on lap feature.

The nationals format is fine, as evidenced by the packed grandstand, & big ass grins on everyone's faces. I wish they could do 100 laps.

You might as well put batteries and doors on the cars and pave the track. They have turned THE NATIONALS into a show instead of a sprint car race. If I want to watch tire changes and gassing up a car I'll watch FRANCECAR!
When they went to their 50 lapper they lost me.
