Since the best 3 races I have been at this year were the Outlaw shows at Tulare and Hanford, I guess I will go up for The Gold Cup at Chico. 75$ for a reserved seat for 4 days of racing. Sept 4 Civil War 360's, Sept 5 USAC sprints and midgets, Sept 6 & 7 Outlaws with TK, Rico and Golobic. What's not to like?

Just ordered my ticket, Reserved?, not! General admission to lower rows in bleachers.

Davemahar: I would also recomend getting tickets for the Sunday night World of Outlaws show at Antioch on Sep 8th ! I have been to all the Outlaw shows at Antioch over the past few years and they have been wonderful with our locals guys really doing well against the WoO! I just bought my dad a ticket and there are still good seats left! Antioch is one of my favorite tracks and is really racy track and even the last KWS race was awesome before they had to call it at lap 16 due to Peter Murphy's crash. That was the scariest crash I have seeen in a while and I really hope he is doing better! Anyone have any updates on how is doing?

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

I was so pissed at WOO race there two years ago $40.00 ticket ( standard Outlaw Track Dry Slick)  40 laps no passing , single file, worst sprint car race I have seen in 40 years. Drove right by it on way too dirt cup last year. My butt will not be spotted at Chico ever again !

This must have been the Mini Gold Cup a few years ago right?! Yep that was one of the worst races I ever went to and I remember looking at Marcel and we just shook our heads and didn't even watch the ending because it was just a freight train. I almost wished there was a  refund policy for that night and like you it is hard to get that bad taste out my mouth because I really used to like watching races at Chico. I enjoy going to other tracks more now and hopefully Chico does much better track prep for Gold Cup coming up!

Modfan and Larryelectric :Try going to Antioch for the WoO race- I think you will be impressed!

I was a SoCal nonwing snob, lke many other SoCal fans. That was until I started going up north for wing shows. Seeing shoes like TK, Allard, Bud and Kyle et al, and then going to the Trophy Cup made me appreciate and actually prefer wing shows. I also had no love for The Outlaws after seeing 2 or 3 shows. As I said above the, WoW shows earlier this year were terrific. TK won a show as did Kyle and Globic. As for the Gold Cup, I am looking forward to a great show with the Outlaws and as I said, Wednesday, a Civil War show and on Thursday USAC sprints and midgets. Always wanted to see Forsberg and the Civil War gang and now's my chance. BTW I have gone to lousy shows at various tracks at times, but that did not stop me from going to those tracks. Dirt fans have to put up with a lot of stuff that other sports fan would not tolerate. BBTW Did you have to tempt me with that Sunday Antioch show? Don't know if the War department, aka wife, will take that news, but what the heck in for a penny in for a pound, probably see you guys at Antioch.

Andy Forsberg is worth the price of a ticket.  He always lives up to his name, Mr. Excitement!!!

Never forget when Andy showed up at Petaluma for a "run watcha brung show" with barn doors on both sides. No wing because wings were not allowed. Pissed off the promoter, put Andy in the back but he won anyway. Been a Forsberg fan ever since.

Was there that year also . Where they worked the track for an hour . But last year was awesome.

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Since SDS added new clay right before the Gold Cup last year, the surface has taken a dramatic change for the better. If the track dries out, there are at least 2 grooves of racing. Last years Gold Cup was excellent racing all 4 nights. I doubt this years show will be any less entertaining, looking forward to being there in a few weeks.

I live in Antioch, been involved in racing there for many years, most of the 410 races there are pretty good. WOO races have been very good for the most part. I was just agreeing that the mini Gold Cup race was probably the worst WOO race ever! I've been to the Gold Cup many times, even when it was in Sacramento, nothing compares to West Capital, still pissed about the Mini Gold Cup though, they even called the race off for the next day due to rain, which never happened, at the track.

With so many "other" venues to choose from in Central California, I just don't ever have to worry about going back to Chico, EVER!

I believe that was the mini Gold Cup, Track was horrible due to heavy rains, even TK said it sucked, Track seems better now with the addition of some new clay.
