Tragically, pal, we don't tell our dads that we love them before they pass. Hope you had the opportunity and had him hug your scrawny little neck to tell you he loved you back. Too often we take things for granted. I was fortunate, I got the best of both worlds. Smile

I did tell him that, He would tell me thanks for coming to see him in the Hospital right before he went home & I would tell him, Dad you don't have to thank me.

I never had any young one's. I kinda regret that for my Mom & Dad.

Here's a little story when I was around 5 or 6 & we lived in a little town called Cridersville, Mom & Dad went to take a nap 1 Sat. or Sun. afternoon & I was laying on a cot in the livingroom, I actually cried myself to sleep because for some reason I started thinking about them dieing 1 day. I told my wife last night as we were leaving the Funeral home about that & showed her where the house was & the ironic thing is both my Mom & Dad were shown about a block and a half away from that very house. They divorced when I was about 13 & I just turned 50 in March.

He died on the day she was buried 5 yrs ago.

From what my stepmom told me the Dr. said he had 2 choices, Be put on a vent or go home & let hospice take care of him. When he was told he could not talk on the vent he said no. He was home for a day and a half. He looked & sounded good but it was inside that was the problem.

sprintcarfanatic Sorry for your loss. My Condolences to you and your Family. My father raced dirt cars and drag bikes when I was about four years old he started to take me with and at the age of seven he started my racing career. Racing memories with fathers are something we all will remember till are last day on earth. Thank you for sharing your post
