When was the last time you saw ANY driver come from deep in the field to win? It seldom happens. Has anyone seen the FACTUAL KWS 2013 schedule?

Maybe someone needs to step back from his puter until the ink drys on the final 2013 schedule.

Stand corrected simpson drove in 2011 and before i guess you didnt make those shows and i guess you have the funds to travel i do not

so the real reason you won't be attending is lack of funds then?

and which race did dan drive in then in 2011 besides medford that is, which i attended.

you joggled my memory, thanks. dan didn't drive this year then?

For the record (I guess I just can't resist chiming in on this one too) from my perspective there isn't a single race track in Nevada (yes that includes Vegas) that I would walk across the street to attend a race at even if it were free. There are just way too many good tracks here in California and I sure as hell will not drive all the way to Fernley Nevada to pay to watch what I know will be an almost certain dry slick dust bowl of a racetrack. I learned that lesson almost 3 decades ago at Lovelock. As for Reno, or any desire to go there, I don't need a race for an excuse to go there and not being a fan of Reno a race at the nearest dust bowl isn't any kind of enticement to get me to do so. I love Vegas but haven't been to the track since February of 1997 and have no intention of going back for a race there. Vegas yes. Racetrack no. As far as KWS locating their office there I say go for it and completely understand the reason why. Just don't expect me to haul all they way to Fernley for a race. It would be more likely that I would visit George and Gary at their office on the way to a casino there which isn't likely either as I have mentioned. There are a number of places I would rather DIE than Reno.

To bad you feel that way. Have you been to Fernley recently??? New CLAY on the surface has changed the track completely, and it's no longer a dry slick dust bowl. Tell me where in Cali do they have #1 no curfew, #2 no muffler rules, #3 tailgate parking above turns one-two, where you can bring in your own food, BBQ, and liquid refreshments, and #4 fire pits located throughout the facility, and they even provide the wood to burn! I'll tell you, NOWHERE! Being a Reno resident who has been traveling "over the hill" for the past two decades to attend and shoot sprint car races, i welcome the change! Dan and crew have done wonders with a flailing, withering and dying 410 series since he took control, and i have complete faith in what his future plans for the series are going to be. The Reno area has been starving for big-time racing, and i know a lot of people are very excited to see 410 racing in this area. Seems in my opinion that all of you Californians have had to much of a good thing, take it for granted, and bitch and moan about every little thing you can, instead of appreciating what you've got. Why don't you all come check out the revised and improved Fernley track, and then make your decision as to whether it's worth the drive or not. I think you will be surprised..............Troy

I will drive the 5 hours each way if they race without mufflers.

Did you guys hear, a guy bought two tickets for the Knoxville Hall of Fame 410 sprintcar, at an Antioch WoO race, and won the car. A new KWS team?

Those drivers have talent and are worth watching but i am not going to travel to another state to watch them race

Quit your whining already. So you don't like what the series has to offer, don't go. Your posts are barely comprehensible. Instead of blowing this forum up with half wit opinions why don't you focus on typing out 1 or 2 well thought posts and say what you've got to say and move on. All this other bullshit is just drawing negative attention to what is a damn good racing series.

Cheers!

Dude, why don't you do some research before spewing such negativity out of your piehole. It really makes you look ignorant and stupid. I'm not saying that you are, it just makes you look that way. In the few times that the 410's came to Fernley, a lot of the teams uncorked them. Have you ever heard an uncorked 410? Pretty awesome. As far as the firewood, it gets donated to the track from various construction site clean-up (scrap). Instead of paying to dump it, just burn it! It's free! What part of my previous post makes it sound like the promoter is not interested in making money? Quite the contrary, by providing a fun, fan friendly, unrestricted (by California standards) facility with a good racing program, the promoter will make money. Happy fans spend money........

Reno Fernley has always been a track with POTENTIAL and as noted requires no cerfew and no sound nazi's. however, until proven otherwise it has a horrible surface that EATS tires, and gets extremley dusty. The main reason for the move of KWS to Nevada is because California tracks will not pay Simpsons demanded $2,000.00 increase annually. the opening of Stockton, Reno fernley and Rattlesnake give Simpson THEORETICALLY an alternative to Cali tracks.None of these tracks have any record of hosting a large show. West coast racing will be better for their addition if it works out but thats a long way away. We raced both nevada tracks and the facilities just arent up to the standards Cali fans are used to. Bathrooms are portable toilets, concessions are taco trucks, seating is almost non existant except for snake infested hillsides where you sit in your car. the pits are bolder strewn sage brush fields that cost us a big rig sidewall. there are very few hotel rooms within 30 miles and in the 10 or so times we raced there I never saw more than 150 people in the grandstands. there is constant blowing sand and once the sun goes down its colder than hell, To get to them you must cross a 7000 ft summit that has had chain control in july and august. If things continue as they are get used to names like winnemucka, Battle Mountain, eeley and lovelock. those can be leased cheaply also and I hear there are thousands of people lining up to see KWS there. Tahoe Carson couldn't make it for a reason and it wasn't too many eager fans....paul

T-Car didn't make it for the same reasons that Ascot, West Cap, Manzy, etc. didn't make it.......and you know that Paul. Just like those tracks, T-Car thrived for years (i know i grew up there) and that place was wall to wall SRO on a weekly basis all through the 60's, 70's, and 80's. (quote)"Seating is almost non existant except for snake infested hillsides where you sit in your car." Really? I've NEVER encountered a snake at either track in all the years i've been going to them, and i've been ALL over their facilities inside and out. (quote) "None of these tracks have any record of hosting a large show." WRONG! Fernley has hosted not only the KWS, but also USAC sprints, BCRA midgets and lites, Western all-star late models, the Western mini sprint Nationals, and the World 100 for late models to name a few. They've hosted a lot more "large shows" than you think.....

As a kid my dad would tell me....do SOMETHING...even if it's wrong!

It appears, on the surface, Simpson is trying to "revive" Nevada racing as well as improve the KWS in Cali. How about we give him at least one year on this "new program" before we chuck it in the garbage?

I say good luck to Dan and I hope the people in Nevada turn out to support what he is attempting to do. I certainly don't see anyone else stepping up and attempting ANYTHING.
