My mag. shows up each month back page torn up bad. Most monthes it shows in a clear sleeving bag from the USPS with a note, stating they a sorry. I went to talk to the local post master, she stated that she thinks it is the type of gloss covers on the magazine. When it goes thru their sorting machines it slips then grabs the glossy cover pages. I receive 10 magazines a month and this is the only one ever torn up. I would suggest that Sprint Car Magazine looks into changing the gloss texture of the covers. I just read it and throw it away. I can't collect them like I did with other racing magazine.

This must be the issue. Someone should contact sprint and midget and let them know its the glossy covers causing the magazines to be wrecked in the sorter. I have also received a couple issues in really bad condition.

You don't think he would actually send them out damaged, do you? Best he could do is put them in a sleeve or wrapper.

One thing good about SC &M is when you call, you talk to an actual person, not a voice mail

Like Jeff, I send our many DVD's. There was a time when I had several recipients of the package contact us about damage to the disc. I always replaced them but did make changes as to how they were packaged after that. since then there has been no problem. It sounds like it would be worth the trouble for the SC & M staff to consider the shipping sleeves.

My Sprint and Midget comes torn up most of the time. I know its the mail system that eats them. Most of my wifes rags come in plastic shrink wrap to prevent that problem. I know I would be willing to pay a little extra to have it arive whole!!!

and you said last time we chatted you aren't making any money, gee, i wonder why. c-ya!!!

any other magazine editors that care about their customers, please reply here

That's a problem with the post office not the magazine. I've had some arrive in not so great shape but still managed to enjoy every page. Today, both Sprint Car And Midget and Speed Sport News arrived in perfect condition...a good day.

agreed, but the fact remains. someone at the magazine needs to step up and actually make a trip to the po.

it is called "good customer service" imo here boyz.

the magazine shows that customer service is headed by none other than the editor and publisher at [email protected]

Do you have any idea how many different PO's you magazine go's through before it gets to your door?...If any of you guy's have worked around machinery similar to what a sorting machine doe's or not, you know that they all come out of adjustment, and it gets worse as they get older no matter how many thorough PM's they get. I'd guess that somewhere along your line there's one sorting machine thats not up to snuff for whatever reason, but finding that one is no simple task.

Canceled your subscription because of the Post Office ? Calling the magazine a pile of chit ? Are you for real ?

Great magazine with great articles. They're better off without you NWFan. Bet you even complain when a little dirt gets into your beer or hot dog at the races.

The better question would be...

why is this magazine not offered in an on-line format?

I read my dialy newspaper on-line. I get numerous trade magazines on-line. I rarely get anything by the US Mail anymore.

This. With Amazon's Kindle and the iPad newsstand there is no reason for either SC&M and Flat Out to still be just for delivery. I applaud NSSN for moving digital and I have a subscription with them that updates once the new issue is released. I would have subscriptions to both if they did.

I've only had one issue show up to my house effed up. Every other issue has come to me flawless.

Again, the issues you are having, have nothing to do with the printers, and editors of the publication. It's your delivery service.

Godspeed

Some of mine show up perfect. Some of them show up with a mangled page or two. Can't quite understand what got Deans britches so tight. It's not like he has or will ever spend money at Smileys or AFCO anyway. Smile
