Absolutely not cancelled!!!!!...Usac is looking into a possible date change so as to not hurt the PAS 4th of July show. I am currently waiting patiently for them to give me an alternate date ....I have been promised this by tomorrow Wed.June 13th This was a very unfortunate oversite. This is NOT a promoter or track issue. The Route 66 Motorplex will be running USAC/CRA 410 sprint cars and USAC midgets on our opening night!!! Any questions, concerns, ideas etc. can be sent to me at [email protected]
Thank You

The bad thing is that the word has been spread, everybody was told it will be the 30th.
Did anybody voice concerns about the 30th or was that USAC's idea? I have not heard anything negative about the 30th from anybody.
The midgets have a race in Whatsonville on the 6th, we still want to run on the 30th!

i would sure think that by attracting fans to victorville on the 30th would draw them out once again for the 4th since the tracks are fairly close to each other. Race fans want to see racing and they will support both.
What was perfect about the 30th was that there was no conflict with any other track or division. It may be difficult to reschedule since there is either a 410, 360, or midget race pretty much every weekend until the end of the year. The only holes in my schedule for 2012 was 6/30 and 10/20...i guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I had it all planned out to do all 4 races that week...victoville (6/30), perris (7/4), watsonville (7/6), and santa maria (7/7). Who else was going be up for this...just curious?

Thank You!!!!! This decision killed me!!!!.Both financially and mentally....but my commitment is to 410 Sprints and midgets. If our show was successful and hurt the PAS show then we have not helped the future of the racing we love. I hope everybody understands this is about a long term commitment and not what is best for my venue for 1 night. Please stay tuned for more info and if anyone wants/needs more info e-mail me at [email protected]. Thanks for all the support!...Scotty Burns

It's the USAC WC360 VS ASCS War at the Shore.

Here is my Concerns? I know a few of the top USAC/CRA Teams and or Drivers are planning on heading east for speedweek and they won't be here for most of July. So July is out. Then there really isn't an open weekend the rest of the year. There are quite a few local VV fans that are planning on going the 30th because they can't go the 4th due to the show being in the middle of a work week, I think it would work out great to leave it as is.

I think the concern is more with the teams than the fans Perris will be full of non fans just to see the fireworks.Personally I hope V.Ville is a go but it ciuld be tough on some of the low buck teams JMO

Ron, I agree with you 100%. I don't feel that VV on the 30th will have much if any Impact on the fan count at the Pas. As stated the race being in the middle of the work week will dictate the attendance not the fact that another race was held five days before.

The people that have been around the sport a little longer can remember when they would race at Ascot on Saturday night and then head south to Chula Vista (Speedway 117) to race on Sunday. Sometimes they would race at Manzi the next night as part of the midwest tour. Too many of the teams are racing out of their back pockets. Any kind of bump can park them for a while.

K......first of all Don K. Did not cause this and I am only extending the same courtesy that I would ask if the tables were turned.....it is irrelevant who's at fault the key is we are working together to make the future better. FYI Don K. Has been nothing but helpful.....right down to helping me hook-up the John Jory/Rip Williams show car that he has ownership in so I could promote our races. Sorry there is no controversy here just a mix up and a poor recommendation on our opening date.

i think too much information being given out and trying to defend each post is only going to hurt the situation . its very simple , race or no race .good luck and we hope to race in victorville soon .

I stand corrected and removed my post. Don't wish to unfairly stir the pot. Good luck Scott. Hope it all works out.

On my limited budget, I sure can't afford to take Friday off from work to tow up to Watsonville, and then race the next night at Santa Maria. My wife and volunteer help can't afford it either. It would be much easier for me to race on a Saturday, and then four days later, on a holiday, both in So. Cal. I'm dissapointed. I was going to support both races.
