Since the general argument is to keep racers from spending so much money, why not allow a competitor the opportunity to play Robin Hood. Let the poor have an opportunity to steel from the rich. Why dont you bring in the engine claim like IMCA ? Good racing and fights each and every sat night ! Let em spend what they want,
then take it from them. problem solved.

What if you had to start with 10 and 5 psi in the rear tires and no bleeders. Then you couldn't use all of a killer motor and would have to have to drive it smart. That would work for any tire used so no spec tire/ you could use anything you could find used.

I hope to have some new 305 racers show up at the Mid-West 305 banquet on December 10th at the Pizza Ranch in Ames, Iowa at 1PM. The new rules will be read and voted on by the 2011members of the MW305.
Come join us, have some pizza & help us honor our 2011 Champion, Bruce Anderson!

I don't have a dog in this fight but the times I have seen the 305's they can barely pull the small wing so it would be hard for me to believe a bigger wing is a good idea. If it were up to me the 305's would be a wingless class....
|
is a bunch of gunk that 305 can hardley pull a big wing. at Knoxville the 360 are about 1 second slower than 410, and 305 are about 1 second slower than 360. I do think it is tuffer on crank and rods. At first they said a 305 motor would last 3 years with out a overhaul. With big wing you need to do it every year. How do you keep p eople from spending. I have read that a quarter midget goes to track in a 18 wheeler, I guess to im,press people. I have seen all kinds of crazy things like a driver rented an engine from Gaerte for $500.00 a week and the race track pays $350.00 to win.

No remote reservoirs? That is a little steep. Perfect example is the SuperShox. I can understand cockpit adjusters, but no canisters is like wanting to run the 16ft wing.....That is the way shocks are going, so why are you limiting what teams can find used?
|
I have heard of shock adjusters are moved to a place driver can not adjust. Track said that was OK

knoxville and mw305 are just gonna have to work together on the whole deal ! im sure knoxville doesnt want to spend all night tech ing cars for a low purse class! hey i got an idea lets get them to up the purse a little bit !! it is the sprint car capital of the world ya know! and some of the best of the best race here locally in all the classes!
|
Knoixville has alot to do. Do you want toe at track till 1 AM. I can under stand why they really do not want to do it on a lower classI think compression, block numbers and injector stacks wqould be unuff on most nights..They might also check some weeks say a 3 rd place car. MW 305 might have an ispector for 305 cars that does not have an intrest in any race car. You do not want claimer engines. The people that go out in garage and buiuld a nice engine and someone claims it. You will hate this person. IMCA engines are not claimed like they used to be. Some are spending 20 to 24 thousand for motors.

Nick, Where and when is this 3k to win 305 race at???
Second of all sprint cars are made to go fast. The grandstands wants to see FAST cars, sprint cars are made to have bleeders in the wheels. (who wants to watch a car come out of the corner quarter throttle so they dont blow the tire????) Thats like saying you cant run a temperature gauge (that way the driver wont know whats gunna blow first the tire or the motor). Really??
Build a car that goes FAST (legal)or sit in the STANDS. Not trying to step on your toes but these restrictions are pityful, because if a person wins with a better motor then whats next???

I like the "sit in the stands" part. I am trying to get Destini to a point where "sit in the Stands" would be enough for her. Kind of regretting starting her in this. Saving the money would be nice, but it is what it is!

The bleeder idea is so the guys with the race saver motors who are way under powered can be competitive. We want this to be a race that everyone. Who wants to come race can.
