I have a set of Hilborn 8as 3.5in nozzles and the part where the line connects to the nozzle has flattened out and stripped. I was wondering if anyone had a trick or tip to repair a nozzle like that or could help me out. I am supposed to race tomorrow and don't have another nozzle, so repair is pretty much my only option...if anyone can shed some light I'd appreciate it!

I'd try a tap & dye set. Try to chase the threads out. Worth a shot!

First make sure chips do not get inside the nozzle, try putting the end of a q-tip in the inlet.

Try a die over the thread 3/8-24

If the flare is damaged, if you have access to lathe re-cut the tip.

MAKE sure your nozzle line nut does NOT bottom out before tightening on flare

remove nozzle, cutoff flush, tap 1/16, D drill .2404, once you have the tapped hole it is matter of stacking fittings or if you get lucky 1/16 pipe to what ever a male nozzle is (my engine hoist is still hanging from a tree limb)

I got new nozzles from Kinsler, but Im going to fix the one to have a spare set... Where do you cut off flush at? Just the part of the fitting where the line screws on?
