Dear Sprint Car Teams,
This Sat. Night, July 23rd, we will once again be Presenting our "Summer" Sprint Car Spectacular 410-360 Open Show. This event will be the most important Sprint Car event of the year at "VRP", as it could have a deciding factor on how many Sprint Car Shows we can run. Our last Show had a great turn out of cars and we are building the crowds and fan base for Sprint Cars. We have to continue to build the momentum, or we will lose the Fan Support.
A Full Field will Pay $150 to start and $1,500 to Win, plus a Bonus of $200 to top placing 360, and all Pay-Outs are Cash Night of Show. Less than 20 cars pay-out is posted on our web site at www.victorvilleracewaypark.com (Under Rules/Purses) While other Tracks are cutting back on events, we want to add more Sprint Car Shows, so for this event we really need your support.
Track Prep. will be done by Veteran Late Model Racer Ron Barnett who has over 30 years of dirt work, and helped build the original Victorville Track. Pre-Entry is not required, but a quick e-mail to [email protected] would be appreciated so we know what to expect.
We are not looking to set car count records, but we really need a Full Field so our Fans will keep coming back, and we can add more Sprint Car Shows. We are also looking at running a "Winter" Series, so you can see how important this event is to us.
This is a very important event for us, and we are asking for your support.
Thanks
Steve

I would like to know who is going up the hill, too. OMG I have the same question and T4Rob. I wonder if that means I'm going to start hitting the pipe next. LOL.

I'm just curious because of the hot weather that is predicted.

RIP Chet and Mark. You might be gone but never will
be forgotten.

I have been told that a crew is working on the track. I just might go by and see the progress some time.

Not Supporting Sprint Car Racing at a local Track, is just one step closer to losing another Track. For you to post you will not be there for no reason is just a slap in a Tracks face, when only a few Tracks are trying to give Sprint Cars a place to Race! We do appreciate the Sprint Car Teams that do support us! We are paying more to start, and Win than ever before at this Track....The question was who is COMING!!! Not who is NOT COMING!!!!!! We will continue to support 410 Sprint Cars, and provide a place to race for those that want to support us.

Seems like you got a short fuse to me. You need to learn to keep mouth shut from time to time! Yourrants on here are starting to become very counter-intuitive! Keep this deal up and you might just lose a true die-hard fan! I get sick of reading all of your bit**img on here! Its so un-profressional if iwere thosethreeguys id never race there again irregardless of their again! Joe

Their reason! PS. I Know at least 10 that have told they don't go to YOUR track because of your posts on here so you may want to pay attention to your rants! You pay the drivers and the FANS PAY YOU! MY THINKING IS THE FANS MEAN MORE TO YOUR PROFITABILITY THEN THE CAR OWNERS RELY ON YOUR PURSE! JOE

So after Removing(Editing out) the Threat (If THEY ever race here again we will REMEMBER YOU! Paraphrasing) you made to these three that Will NOT be attending the race you still have not posted WHO will be attending! Not that it matters to me but you did say that WAS the question!

I KNOW you owe these three gentleman a very PUBLIC APOLOGY!

Kenny Perkins is back east on a well deserved vacation. I think that the other two are committed to race in the senior event at Ventura. Please understand that Ventura is a very viable alternate to racing at Victorville and that the Ventura schedule was posted before this event at Victorville was announced.

Nice thing about living in America is that sometimes you are allowed to make choices.

It would have helped if hubcap did specify why they would not be at the track in the original post, as harryfan did for him.

What I do know from reading the posts on the late model race board, is a driver who attended the last late model race as a spectator, has not seen the stands that full in all his years of racing at Victorville. Steve may use his passion and energy to succeed to post some inflammatory things here, but from the non sprint car groups, many are impressed with his promotion of the track. I've seen comments from people saying they have seen more local promotion in the Victorville area in the last 6 months than have been seen in the last 6 years.

This year, Steve is trying to learn the dynamics of weekly dirt track promotion, while applying the succesful techniques he has learned over many succesful years of monster truck and other types of promotion. One of the things he is trying to see is what type of cars support his track, and how many fans they bring. We all love sprint car racing here, but if the cars do not show up for the purse paid, and the stands are less full than a stock car show.......well you all know the answer.

One telling example is to look at Bakersfield speedway. They would pay the purses to run the sprint cars, less than 15 cars would show up, and the stands would be less full than a normal night featuring IMCA modifieds. So much larger purse, smaller front gate, whats the incentive to run sprint cars? Needless to say, the only sprint car race on their schedule this year was cancelled due to the expected light car count, and the promoter worried about taking a financial bath on the show.

With Ventura big time struggling at the front gate, Perris in financial woes with a heavily decreased sprint car schedule, if sprint cars shun Victorville and lose the track, what is their future in So Cal?

Victorville will most probably be a success under Steve's watch. If he makes more money running modifieds or late models as his featured class, and the stands are more full for those shows- the 410 sprint cars lose a good training ground for future USAC/CRA stars, and that would be a shame.

Mr Querico is doing a lot of things right at the race track. Unfortunately, it doesnt seem like he has been around sprint car fans and the internet long enough to know just what a crazy mix of passion, venom and hardcore whining goes on with the internet around the sport...

I think he would benefit a great deal by taking just one page out of Mr Naylors book. Have someone else post things on the internet for your promotions, post the facts and go prep the track and let the chips fall where they may.

Somebody isnt going to be happy, its too dusty, windy, hot, show started too late, too early, the toilet paper is too scratchy, the tracks the wrong colour, those cars are too noisy, they are going too fast I cant read the numbers so on and so on and so on...

I was heading to Victorville this weekend, but I am just sick of the whole drama associated with Sprint Cars at the moment. I am in it for the fun, im done with high school...

Brett, solid chance I will be there this weekend. Just kinda venting on all the negative energy that seems to surround some of the threads about going racing. We are all supposed to be doing this for the love, pretty sure none of us are getting rich off this deal... lets try to have fun right?

I hear through the grapevine, Brandon Thomson will be there in the #36. I would imagine we will see the 2 Gaunt cars and at least 2 Williams cars.

Good to hear Buzzard. I am with you on the drama BS. This is way too expensive and too much work not to be fun.
