While doing some searching on my own, the rules for the 2011 season for the NCRA modified north division are out and I noticed that the G-60's are now allowed however, no grooving will be permitted. Also, they will still not allow Schrader Valves.
This comes on the heels of the "yet to be announced officially" change in the NCRA modified south rules that will allow Schrader valves and grooving of tires in 2011.

We sold the Sportmod and bought a ASCS motor. We really liked the 305 series and was hoping that it would move north into Oklahoma but instead it seems to be moving farther south. We got tired of the traveling. So I guess we will run some ASCS Sooner stuff and some NCRA stuff

SWEET!!!
on the ASCS motor I mean. Thats really cool.
You guys should get a micro and run some ASCS2 Non Wing/Outlaw stuff. Fierce competition and great racing surfaces this year - some really really good shows. especially at Port City and Cowtown. Hey if you guys ever get tired of the big one lane tracks.......... yeah shameless plug lol.
good luck to you guys in ASCS 360 racing.

As much as u talk about ascs2 we should team up u buy the car and hire me as ur driver we will use a shoehorn as a seat as that's what it will take to fit me in there . I'm sure we could pick up some corporate sponsorship and come up with some sweet name for the racing team !!!!!
winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

(as for the south) What the hell they want to start grooving tires for....
( as for the north) that G60 tire wont keep up with the other tire. Go with one tire or the other so if someone wants to run both North and South NCRA they wont have to have both
kinds of tires...
There putting rules in that are sending (cost) the wrong dam way....
Sorry,, i think i blew a head gasket....

Why would you want to groove tires... Your joking right?
Everything but ncra allows grooving its a pain to carry around tires ungroved that you can only use 8-10 races a year.
I agree on getting the north and south on the same rules alot of guys would make the trek every now and again but the g-60's just wont compete with those north tires.

Maybe Massey or McClaskey or somebody from up there can elaborate but I don't think those guys were too thrilled to run the g-60's anyways.

I would be running the south series for the most part and a few local tracks close to home and we cant groove tires down here. ( thats why its got me shaking my head).. I know there are tracks that do let you groove tires and if NCRA goes with grooving tires it will benefit those drivers.. If the NCRA south goes with the grooving tire rule it wont work for me anymore. Last years rules were good for me, i didnt have to change a thing...But you cant make everybody happy...and im just not happy with the change..
Question...... Do you think a grooved G60 (south) tire will compete with the A40 ungrooved (north) tire.???????

To the best of my knowledge Lawton may have been the only track you could not run grooved tires at, but it says nothing about it in the rules being illegal on the website. So if anything I would think the tracks that do not allow tire groving are in the minority. They should just make it legal and allow the racers to maybe get a few extra nights out of their tires.
As for the A40 vs G60. I spoke with a Modified North Driver at one of the Modified South races and he said that the A40 has better sidebite but the G60 has better forward bite. Not sure if this is the truth just what he told me. I am also not sure if a groved G60 will compete with a ungrooved A40, but we will never find out as groved tires are illegal in the north.
Maybe the NCRA should move the North to the G60 halfway through the season. This would give the drivers who have A40s some time to burn them up? If I was a racing series I would have both divisions on the same set of rules to try and maximize the car counts. We race in the Modified South Series and would make some trips to Kansas to race with them if we were on the same rules.
On the topic of Shrader Valve Shocks, to me it really isnt a big deal. You could do everything with a non shrader valve shock that you can do with a shrader valved shock. I personally think that in order to get control of the spending make welded end shocks the only legal shock. That should help save some money.

I didnt mind the g60s at all it just a learning curve but you can adjust to that in time the cost is alot cheaper and last longer no G 60 will not keep up with a A 40 but with the G60 tire the racing is better and cheaper with all the cost we will be racing imca in 2011 or the G60 tire And we are not building are own cars as the rumors say we are running Bills Built Chassis in 2011Thanks Jeremy Massey

2011 north rules also eliminated the use of a torque arm. Only allowed traction device is the pullbar.

wow suprised they are following the crymca on that one. So no torque arms even for braking in NCRA north? If they are going to do that to the north better do it for south as well before it catches on down here and racers spend money on it and they decide against it. they need to be working to get them closer to the same i dont understand having two series a couple hundred miles apart on different rules doesnt make sense

Since we have run some NCRA I want to weigh in on this. Make the rules for modifieds the same. Same everything period.

If you ask me the South rules are perfect and come close to matching a lot of other places and series. The tire rule for the North kills their car count in my opinion....

I noticed that the car count was low at 81 speedway compared to most of the south car counts,,
