legend ...

I started this tired worn out debate about 8 years ago in a Chat Room on TJ Slideways site.
I was teasing some newcomer with a computer nicknamed Hosehead, he was actually Allan Holland
from PA, sound familiar?
I baited or tried to rile everybody about something, in his case it was about the PA drivers
and their reluctance to travel much.
I acknowledged their history and significance in the development of our sport but the
needlin' was done in fun.
I carried it on in here starting in '97 and when a few got a little too testy things got
ugly, myself included.
What had become a fun thing got a little out of hand and here's where were at.
Ironically, I spent much of four nights last week with a former PA Posse driver with whom
I have great admiration and is likely one of the originals under the name 'Posse'.
He gets the debate, he laughs at it and he knows the intended fun and harbors no ill will
to yours truly.
The many Hosers in this forum who I spend time with also know that I likely enjoy PA more
than any other stop on my much too long tour and it's the truth.
I would like to see the argument end but I think I've created a monster that's unstoppable
(like the green 11).
At any time if you actually get angry you should disqualify yourself from the debate and
in all likelihood it would be over soon, dreamin' a wee bit aren't I?
Enjoy, it's all good, Take It Easy....

Hey single, are you bright enough to distinguish two different topics/subjects? I could care less about most of this and the clowns that want to nitpick, Hardrive I am a legend when compared to you in any regard, lol. I give, you can't fix stupid. Take It Easy...

the irony of reality...the unstoppable green monster's marketing arm disqualified those unauthorized photos with no signed release....and the credentials (free ride) went right down the drain!

Yeah, I'm an Ohio cheerleader. You won't get any argument from me there, Mike. I also like to head to Posse land and see some of the great racing those guys put on from time to time. I even managed to get some Indiana non wing action in at the end of the season and enjoyed the hell out of it. How dare I actually go to a race and enjoy it? The audacity!!!

You mention Attica's track prep. It's been great the last few years. Infact, since Gene left, they've managed to improve the racing about 1000% by reshaping the track and removing some of the banking in the turns. You wouldn't know this however. I heard that there's a three stooges marathon on your local TV station. You'd probably prefer that sort of programming better at this point in your "life".

I brought up the WoO win list because I was simply playing by an established set of rules that you've been playing by for years in this forum. There's a search option in this forum incase you've forgotten your posting pattern which is understandable in your advanced age. Let me clue you in on what you'll find. You'll find that you cherry pick the information to make it say what ever suits your "arguments" at the time. I'm not the only person that has seen this or pointed it out.

BRR, you are one of the only people on the planet that actually knew the truth so why do you make up stuff like that, seriously? Why start the lies again, you are seriously ill dude? I sold thousands upon thousands of NASCAR photos, heck the two biggies of that fateful day in FEB '0l account for over 7,000 alone. What's even better was the cash business I had and you knew about that also. The only checks I ever took were from dealers who helped sell some of those thousands and the occasional one from a fan.

There was never any issues with credentials and I covered over 1,000 sprint car races during that stretch and never paid a cent to get in and made money at almost every single show and at times a whole bunch! You also knew that and it still bugs you and others but if I'm smart enough to do that then c'est la vie. Not sure what the green monster marketing arm was but the deal I made with Dana Kinser a very long time ago seemed to work because I was never asked for a single penny and never ever paid one. Giving the drivers some quality freebies over the years seemed to work pretty well, about 185 or so of them ran my sticker at some point, that also was the cause for lots of envy as well. Dang, I love thinking back on those days, Take It Easy.....

MSPN must be just a kid if he refers to the early 90's as the "good old day's". To me that was the funniest thing I've ever heard him say. Early ninety's.LOL You have no idea how NASCAR you guy's sound.

powerslave I do have hope for you. (BIG GRIN!) "I even managed to get some Indiana non wing action in at the end of the season and enjoyed the hell out of it".

MSPN, you make the sprint car community sound like a cheap broad that you just used for $$, and now you just howl about how sprint car racing's not worth a crap, and going the way of the dinosaur..No respect! You show no respect for any of us who still enjoy, and haven't given up like you have on a sport that a lot of us have had a lifetime love affair with, not just a one night stand.

C'mon now, Kenny. You know I like both kinds. I do prefer the midgets over the full sized sprints when I see non-wing but, it's all good and I can enjoy both kinds.

The only fault I find with non-wing is that it's seemingly so much easier for those guys to get hurt and tear up their equipment. You have to admit that the wings do tend to be safer in that aspect. Atleast, that's the perception.

Well said Kenny!! I also find it a injustice that he likes to throw California's racing endeavours against everyone else. There is great racing in every region that runs wing and non-wing racing in this country. I being from California have seen great racing in both forms of sprints and couldn't be prouder of the guy's that race out here, but I don't slam other regions drivers. Those folks are just as proud and think their drivers are the best or could compete with the top-dogs. This thread is sooooo dumb and pointless once again!

Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

If our 410 boys ran Limaland more often, They could hang with the Cali boys @ Chico, Why, Because even TK, Statler & a couple others I've talked 2 said Chico & Limaland are very similar & they liked Limaland. Someone look up the stats for when the Cali boys were there for speedweek shows. I'm pretty sure TK won 1. I'd pick Reed for a Chico win f he ever went. BTW this is for Leon.

I know you do, but I do have a reputation to uphold you know. I'll be seeing both again at the Western next weekend, and the winged cars did have their moments last year, though most of the heats were nap time... Actually up at Skagit in the early to mid eighty's they put on one hell of a show every Saturday night. They ran the track heavy heavy, and with the smaller wings, and not being locked down, it was a good show. Truth is though, I was so excited to get back to Manzy for a CRA show I hit my head on the arches rushing in. Some say that might have something to do..never mind LOL

A winger car safer? That's not the way I look at it. What's doe's safer really have to with it? The problem with some of the non winged boy's on the smaller tracks is they feel to safe with the cages, big nerf bars, and great safety equipment, and drive with more bravado than skill, and that's why so much equipment gets torn up. I saw Kaeding literally knock down the fence at both ends of the track Manzy, by himself, and on the same night! I wasn't impressed.

I guess what I mean is like the deal with Shane at Terre. I can't help thinking that if there was a wing over his head that it would have absorbed a greater amount of that impact and he possibly wouldn't be going through what he's going through now.

And maybe I've got it wrong. I couldn't stand looking at the video clip of his accident more than once or twice. I'm probably opening myself up to being called a pussy but, I absolutely hate seeing flips or wrecks like that. I cringe every time I see a car get air. Even if it involves a driver that I feel a lot of negativity towards, I want to see them get beat on the track instead of being put on their lid.

Remember that was a Champ car, and with a 1,700lbs minimum, it's heavier than a sprinter. Though they don't race as often, the big cars have had very safe track record overall for many years now. Maybe the champ cars don't belong on a 1/2 mile? You put a wing on a Champ car, and it's a Super mod... I know, I saw them do it at the Copper Classic. They put on a big wing, and dropped in a big block, and ran with the supers. Now you put a wing on a sprinter and ...never mind LOL

Don't blow it out of proportion, man. It was a pretty tight championship race the whole season and I know most of us "Ohio Cheerleaders" were glad to have him along for the ride.
