Well, I've read again this complete thread. What doI see? Alot of people read the thread. Few people typed thier opinion, most choose to just not say anything. And worse of all nothing solved. Not even I typed a solution that would start to help the factory stock class. But one thing that I did see. This web site is a great example of these United States. Freedom to choose, Freedom to express or not to express your opinion. Freedom that your military is keeping safe for you. With that said. Have a jolly good day, and thank your parents.

So, If the car counts at let's say at lawton,SFS, Meeker, Enid (they are about the same distance away from OKC)are down. Then how do promoters get the cost of racing down to a level at which the guy who wants
to go racing, go racing. On another thread someone complained because the promotor enforced the track rules. Yet another complained a promotor does not enforce his own rule. And another complained a promotor favors one driver over another. Then another person wished the promotors would get together and set the rules.
If the claimer is in the past, Then how do we help the racing survive? My suggestion is maybe the ORA organize instruction classes on set-ups, scaling , tuning, driving technic, and such instead of read the minute every month. and discussing nothing.
That's my Opinion and I'm stick'en to it.

Eddie Martin offers a seminar in Jan or Feb at OKC each year, wich is a very good seminar as I have heard, so for those of you wanting to gain knowledge I would look on this forum next year and attend his seminar as David does post the info, he offers it on Modified & Factory Stock, hope this helps...

It seems to me that promoters face a pretty daunting (if not impossible) challenge when it comes to the subject of rules, inspections and cheating.
We all want FAIR if not equal competition, I agree that its really not much fun to watch the same guy win EVERY week, especially if his only competition is breakdown. We all know that some people just CAN'T stay within the rules. But who wants to see or participate in a complete tear-down every week? Nobody wants to be at the track unti 2 or 3 in the morning. Rules need to be comprehensive enough to cover every possibility, yet easy and quick to check to check for rule-breakers, violations need to be treated in a unilateral fashion ( in other words the same punishment for the same violation), and favoritism must not exist. Even if factory stocks had to be EXACTLY factory and stock, they would not be evenly matched, and how would you possibly enforce those rules???
I think a tear-down after 3 wins is an acceptable proposal, but IN MY OPINION it should be every three wins, not just once. I understand there would be an increased cost to the racer for gaskets, etc. (But really a Fel-Pro KS2600 350 chevy gasket set is what $39 or 40 bucks).
My experience with claimer rules is that they just create animosity between drivers. In MOST of the cases I know of, the claimed engine turned out to be legal, and the claimee didn't get the satisfaction he wanted. (Unless you just like changing engines constantly).
