Myerstown PA, August 28th, 2010: The International SpeedSTR series made it début at Lincoln Speedway this past Saturday evening for their final National event (in the US) of the 2010 racing season.

The Rahmer boys, Freddie Jr. and Brandon were amped up for the opportunity to compete at Lincoln Speedway. Freddie Rahmer Jr. wowed the capacity crowd in the first event of the evening by capturing his second heat race victory in a row, in dominating fashion over Gary Hieber Jr. (Langhorne, PA). Brandon then rolled out to a cheering crowd for heat race number two, as he went on to secure his best heat race finish of the season with a strong third.

As the STR's took the green in the feature event, Tyler Potts (Milford, NJ) who has been stout the last few races showed his fellow competitors tonight would be no exception by taking the lead before the end of the first circuit from starting fourth on the grid. When the scoreboard clicked off lap 3, Potts began to feel heated pressure from the national point leader of Mario Page (Hillsborough, NJ). Page had raced his way quickly to the front from starting fifth followed closely by Brandon Rahmer (Salfordville, PA).

Potts and Page put on crowd pleasing show, swapping the lead several times for the next five circuits with Page finally securing the top spot on lap 9. Meanwhile B. Rahmer was dueling it out with G. Hieber Jr. and Ronnie Tobias Jr. (Exeter, PA) for the third position. R. Tobias Jr. would take over third on lap eight while last week's feature winner Kyle Hieber was cruising through the field passing STR's high and low after going to the rear from a lap one tangle.

A restart on lap 15 would feature an exciting battle for second between Potts and R. Tobias Jr. Ronnie Jr. would nose ahead a few time during the thrilling exchange, but Potts would sail the outside to secure the second position as Page went on to attain another $800.00 payday. R. Tobias Jr. would come home third followed by a hard charging K. Hieber. G. Hieber Jr. would round out the top five in the Scrappy's 56.

STR Pit Notes:

Ø Series creator Richie Tobias Jr. stated at the conclusion of the evening "I was pleased to see the fans and the track officials were so gracious to all of us throughout the entire evening. It seems that the sprint car people took a strong liking to our program and this facility is such a great venue for us to showcase our product."

Ø Freddie Rahmer Jr. got caught up in a tangle on the first lap and raced his way back to a solid 9th.

Ø Young gun, Kenney Johnson captured his best finish of the season with a great 7th place finish.

Darrell Delnero a competitor in the NES Sportsman division was back in a SpeedSTR for the second consecutive race aboard the Lowes DR1. Delnero ran in the top five before going pit side with brake issues.

58 year old Scott Munroe showed more of the diversity the SpeedSTR series has to offer. The series has competitors ranging from 14 years old (Rahmer's & Johnson) to 58 years old (Munroe) along with the 15 year old female hot shoe of Brittany Wixon all doing battle with one another race after race.
