I will proudly sport my Jesse Hocket t-shirt this weekend

Great driver, even better off the track. Members of my family shared many a laugh with him during the Nationals.

GOD SPEED JESSE

What a tragic, tragic loss to Jesse's family, friends, and the entire racing community. One of the best drivers on the planet no matter what he stepped into. The Racing Heavens just picked up one hell of a shoe. Thoughts to everyone close to Jesse.

WFOB_0, I wanted to compliment you on your quote; "The Racing Heavens just picked up one hell of a shoe". Nicely said.

God bless Jesse and the Hockett family. Racing will never be the same.

Never complained, just raced and raced hard. Just like you never knew where he would show up to race, you never know when your time is up. Damn shame, I miss him already. God Speed Jesse Hockett!

That's all I can say.

Even though he didn't leave us behind the wheel, he died doing what he loved. No one is at fault here. All drivers that die the way they live - recklessly, and pure abandonment of fear, cherish not a bad way to go.

We've parked next to him at the pits several times, but I unfortunately never got to know him. One thing I do know, however, is that he can drive a sprintcar and is still one of the best.

RIP Jesse Hockett
