If weight cannot successfully be added, Why doesn't the engine fall out every time a car flips.

LOL thats funny na the reason we are saying that is think about how your suppose to hang 250 to 300 lbs of lead on a car a 50 lbs block a lead will take up each side of the front rail now try adding 6 of those total just not many places to hang that much lead i know what they are saying i understand why they are doing it just dont see it working well i mean just not safe really cant see it but i guess i am thinking more on the safety side of it

I agree, 200# is a ludicrus amount of weight to add to a Sprint Car. Just cracks me up when people say its too dangerous to add weight. Its obvious those in NM don't really want you guys coming down there. I fought the weight rule here in Mo. It was 1600# with driver after Feature. I thought it was a fair amount, built my car accordingly weighing 1610# with Me and 5 gal fuel. Then they change the rule to 1550#. Now I've got to figure some way to lose 50#. Seems to me it would be easier for some of those lightweight guys to add a little weight than for me to lose some. I lost that battle. Here at Valley Speedway the rules are made where the Lamonte cars and tha URSS cars are legal to run. Just wish there was a uniform set of rules(like ASCS) where we all could race anywhere anytime. I certainly would go to this race in NM if my car were legal.

we all wish that was the case id love to come there and run i know last year at valley they let us come down after the nationals and run i was out of town that weekend or would have went one of our former champions came down and ran and didnt win it then there was guys that went to lake of the ozarks from up here that won that went down and ran against you guys and they didnt do well either but brady bacon did so that gives us a bad eye for the motor deal but brady is a hell of a shoe and deserved to win it but i think we could come there make same weight as the cars there and still not walk all over them, you gotta remember guys from here in iowa are coming to a track they probably have never seen let alone run your putting them on a tire they never run and we all run bleeders here and you cant there so the iowa guys are going to be trying to figure out what there cars are going to do when the pressures come up that they arent use to but thats my two cents worth

Easy fix, Renegade cars way 1500 and the midwest guys way in at 1600 and let the cards fall where they fall. I dont think they can beat the top 5 Renegade guys here. Let them run Royal!!!!!!!!

Does this new addition of the midwest sprint cars also include Knoxville 305's? The rules are now almost identical.

$5000 to win but whats the payout from there? It's not worth the tow if second gets $100. Everyone goes planning to win but theres only two winners in the end, the guy that crosses the line first and the promotor. Post a total payout, maybe the weight rule wouldn't be the only catch to this race. JMO

So is there a link to the track website that works? I can't get either of those to go anywhere. I was wanting to know if Knoxville legal cars can run and what the FINAL rules will be. That's a long drive from Missouri to be told I'm not legal.....

i was on there web site the other. 200 or 250 start money its not a bad pay out and knoxville legal cars are good we just have to add a ton of weight. just not sure if its worth the 23hr drive.

There are links on my first post that go to the entry form and payout, there is an ad on the Hoseheads main site that links to the entry form and payout, and if you still need the track's website it is http://www.snmspeedway.com. When you get there just click the coming events tab on the left side of the page and scroll down.
The event is $5,000 to win and $500 to start and if someone could please e-mail me the rules for Knoxville's 305 class I would appreciate it....everytime I go the site the rules never will download for me. My e-mail is [email protected].
Thank you,

Sent you a cut and pasted section of the Knoxville 305 rules. They are pretty much identical except for the oiling system from what I can see. I vote that you try and work it out in order to make it possible for as many groups to run as you can. Whata Show! Its never been done before. Not for that purse. Thats for sure.

Ok guys first off lets hand it to Royal Jones for putting up a race that pays 5000.00 to win I do not see many owner/promoters evan trying such a thing maybe if nothing else comes out of this race more 305 tracks will get closer on the rules so that a 305 driver get just pack up and go race somewhere else I think 305 are catching on in a hurry due to cost. So before this weight thing turns into a mess lets unite and get some simular rules out there guys.As for a solutaion I sure as hell don't have one maybe invert the field.Anyhow please come support this race so it turns into a annual event. Bryan or Royal give me a call I would like to add 100.00 to the longest tow I know its not much but its something.

Lets forget about adding weight, and the head rules. Lets take the wings off and race.

Sprint29er. I like the way you think!!!! That would be the equalizer!! $5000 to win run what ya brung 305 wingless show...Talk about butts in the stands now! Just too bad that "wingless" is such a hard pill for some promoters to take.

The link to the entry form and payout has changed to http://www.snmspeedway.com/?p=996. The link in the ad on the Hoseheads main page should be fixed soon.
I have been reading everyone’s posts and I thank you all for the ideas. I do hope to see a great turnout for this event and want to make it grow every year. This being the first year there are still some kinks to work out. As far as going non-wing, we have tried that in this area and the greater majority of the fans did not like it at all. I see where you are all coming from but the fans rule and without them, we are just running circles in the desert.
If anyone is planning on coming and is going to need a Hotel, the La Quinta in Las Cruces offers discounted rooms for our racers and fans. The Hotel is right off of I-10 which gives you a straight shot to the track without having to go through town. To reserve your room call 575-524-0331.
If there are any questions for the track, you can call 575-524-7913 or you can get me directly at 575-541-7985.

There will be Hoosier tires for sale at the track both days. If you have questions or want to order tires in advance call 575-524-3895. Ask for Mike or Kathy. See you there.
