First and for most Brian you done a well of a job tonight racing.
There is really something really wrong with this picture at Brill's.
When the announcer said Brian was disqualified it sounded like it
was a real major thing. Well after I heard the real story there is some
bad nit picking. A 1/2 inch off the ball joint is just miner. Not naming any names but
a few one in particular has been real illegal for years. But I don't see him
disqualified. Hum-mm just wonder what he sweetens the pot with to get away
with that?! Hey Brian you should get a few pointers from him then just
maybe they won't mess with you! Great Job Brian!!!

I hate to cloud the issue with facts, because even facts won't change opinions, BUT, Wolfe was disqualified for having the engine relocated too far . The rules say that the 1st spark plug may be even with the ball joint. The engine was relocated way more than than that.

Larry, The Rules Say #1 spark plug may be even with the center of the ball joint. It was not more than 1/2 inch.

Mark is just being an idot in this case. You never hear of him dq'in anyone else for some petty stuff like that. He knows that an half inch of set back is not gonna really make a difference. Good job Brian the car was fast you was coming around to lap the whole field lol.

What is the issue? 1/2 - 1/4 inch or 1 inch it doesn't matter, if the plug is behind the ball joint it sounds to me like it's illegal. Even mens even

The ball joint can be moved with caster camber settings. Brian can adjust the measurments and not have to move his motor. I know of a lot of people that have had there cars tech before the season only to move it before they race it.
This isnt something new and to think that Brian is the only one out there with this issue think again. Brian is successful because he can drive, and knows what it takes to be that way. This isnt the first F/S that has been caught exploring the rules and in my opinion should not cloud Brians talent. What was the penalty?
A better measurement should be "Back of motor to Rear End Housing", That how they check the Mods for motor set back.

JD thanks, We done a change of upper control arms 2 weeks ago. We had the screw in ball joint type and went to the afco bolt in ball joints. Who would have thought they would be different. My fault for not checking! The penalty was minor infraction loss of points for the night and tagged on the back for next 2 weeks! JD by the way if you haven't heard we have oppened New Graphics Company M&M in Shawnee so come by and see us, We have Racers Discounts! 405-273-5588 110% price match gauranteed! Looking to sponsor 1 more car from different race track. Thanks Brian

Brian, thanks for setting me straight. I shouldn't have used the term "way more", especially since I wasn't there to see it and was going on word of mouth.
And thanks J. D., for clarifying the situation even more. I forgot, myself, that if the a-arms had been changed it might actually be the ball joint that was out of position and not the motor. I still think that it was the right call as the rules read. Something to discuss at next years rules meeting.
