Mitchell was in his #37 not the 44. 13 cars under the track record! Spencer also crashed twice, flipping in hot laps as well as the feature. I believe Miller takes the points lead, but dont quote me on that.

13 under the record, wow! What do you think the reason was for so many to be under the record? I know favor boy said the track was fast, but isn't it a little unusual for so many to be under a track record like that? That's over half the field!

Any video highlights from Tulare?
Tulare provides some of the best winged racing in the state.
How was the non wing action?
How was the crowd?

The track was flooded earlier in the week, they had to pump out the water, so the track had plenty of moisture and was very fast. Causing a lot of NTR.

The action was furious as evidenced by the number of broken cars. Some of them just flat wore out it seemed. Just wanted to mention that T.J. Smith also went into the turn #1 wall and was hung up for quite awhile. Same as Kyle Larson 2 weeks ago. Driver OK.
In MHO the non wing cars usually put on a better show at Tulare than the wings, but I think it's due to the low count of the wingers. Trophy Cup with 60 or 70 cars is the best show around, but when GSC only comes in with 17 or 18 cars it's kind of ho-hum. Now somebody please tell me that's going to change.
There were a lot of no-shows last night from CRA but that's usually the case. the CRA faithful always complain about the 360's, but their boys won't make the tow so who's to blame? Same at Santa Maria.
I'm ready, sock it to me!

Why did over half the field break the record last night on a "fast" track? Duuuu.. I didn't realise this was just their second time there.. the last time > " Miller finished fifth in May of '07 at the Thunderbowl and his lap of 15.679 in qualifying set the wingless 410 track record during the event."

Only 20 cars at last nights GSC race at Placerville. Except for Chico races, 20-24 cars is going to be the avg. 410 car count. You may get a few 360 cars in there, like on Friday at Watsonville, but for the most part, expenses and the economy will keep teams from traveling to Tulare and other tracks not central to them except for the regular GSC travelers.

I see how I misread it now... It's the second time CRA has been there with USAC attached, ( maybe ever?) and because of the rainout last year, it's been two years since the CRA/USAC have been there... OK then, back to my original question. Why did over half the field break the track record, beyond the fact that it was said the track was fast? Have they changed the banking or what? It's not unusual for track records to stand for some time, but it is unusual for 1/2 the field or better to break one. I would guess that the Thunderbowl racing surface has been greatly improved somehow.

It hasn't been reconfigured since I was there last in 07, and if I remember right, the track was wicked fast that time. Cant explain why half the field beat it. I guess thats what made it worth mentioning.

Thanks, the track did look good.. In your fine video I could see Cory pulling a wheelie coming off of 4, and it staying up till about the flagstand, and that was towards the end of the race.

Congratulations to Tyler Edwards in Cory's 71k for the 19th to 9th place feature finish. First year in a sprint car. First ride in a 410.
