Enough talk about McCarl he's mid pack at best. I'd be surprised at the end of the years he's in the top 6 in points. And what about TK's fine for going ballistic on Faria's car after he crashed.

I was at the race & while I thought Terry's move was questionable, it was a matter of time before someone in the top 4 got together. Lapped traffic was tough as they were lapping Dollansky & the Dude & those guys wouldn't lay down. Terry just did it before they got to traffic or I think it would have been even bigger. Tough deal foe Joey but we've all seen him feed someone a wheel. The funny thing to me was that TMAC said he loved to be booed but then he went into his little tirade about that's racing & Saldana has brakes too. He had the perfect opportunity to play up the crowd but instead he pulled a Kramer & got nasty. I wonder if he'll have to call into shows and apologize! lol.

It made a great race a little more entertaining but it would have been a whale of a race had they not got together as they were only 3/4 of a lap from lapped traffic & the top 4 were almost nose to tail.

Thank You for the respectful reply. Yes, I do agree that any top (for that matter: all) sprint car drivers and teams wish to race for the almighty dollar- by those means any one of us wishing for the sport of sprint car racing to get to that sucky "next level" only wishes to bring an end to sprint car racing as many of us have grown up around.

As much as I cherish what this sport has given me, and also as much as I respect every person who is involved with this sport from the grandstands to the back gate, there has to be a point that we finally accept that sprint car racing will not, nor should never be a main-stream motor sport. It would totally disfunction the sport as we know it. Yes, every driver and team deserves to make the biggest amount of money and truely also deserves the accolades of a (pardon me here) Nascar driver- but I truely would puke to see even 1/4 amount of the b.s. broadcast coverage that "stock car racing" gets in main stream media geared towards sprint car racing. In my opinion- it would totally bunk the atmosphere of sprint car racing- continue to drive the cost of racing up for competitors but also sky-rocket the costs of everything related to attending an event to the wallets of every fan. We don't need that. What the sport needs is to thrive on keeping and to continue (generations) on the fan base it already has, and to continue to work on ways to bring teams into the sport of 410 racing without worrying about "the next level" and the almighty dollar.

What is going on now with all this T-Mac and Joey talk, in it's own little online way- fuels our passion. And as this thread proves.... fires us up for what is surely to be an interesting
season across the board for all of sprint car racing.

This wouldn't have been good had it happened on ESPN2.

Tape delayed broadcasts for 2K7 on the "Deuce" right?

So DIRT would show the misbehavior only if they wanted to garner the "watch what might happen." Certainly the incidents would have been edited for content if DIRT wanted to show a clean image.

I have to weigh in on this not because of the incident but regarding the comments speaking of WOO going to the next level, appearance to sponsors being important and image is key. I was at the race last week and it's been eating at me all week.

WOO had an off season to regroup. Their souvenir trailer looked like hell. The same paint is peeling away as last year, and it was filthy dirty at the show. The shirts are mediocre at best with very little to show for sponsors. The media trailer was still promoting the Wednesday night show on The Outdoor Channel and nothing on the new agenda. The promoting of it's new sponsorships is minimal at best in signage, patches on officials etc. I don't know it they did it or if Kinser woke up but when you went to his website via WOO link it was still all NST until last weekend. They should be watching the driver and track links to maximize their exposure.

If I had been a sponsor who came buy to see the show I would have some concerns. Somebody needs to wake up and pay attention to detail. Little things but key in the big picture. You want to be first class you better pay attention to the details WOO management.

its funny to see some of you take sides. if this was sammy, you'd be bitching about how big of an a-hole he is, but since it's mccarl, it's ok and its good for the sport. it doesnt work like that boys.

personally, i think its rather funny and got a good laugh when i heard it on dirtvision, but lets face it - you cant go out in public (let alone on a PA and live on the internet) and just spout off and say whatever you want without paying the consequences.

Clyde has probably spoken the most true words on this thread.... If this was Sammy EVERYONE would on his case!!! What will put butts in the seats is side by side racing, passing, and battles upfront for the lead/win! No matter how much anyone whines about it, at least a 6 car invert FOR EVERY race on the track each night would put more butts in the seats that anything, since that would reqiure them to pass more than 1 car.

Life's short, race hard!!!

Personally I like Nascar. I think I like it as much as I did when Donnie and Cale got into it.

I think I like sprint car racing as much as I did when I was a kid and watched Howard and BK

race at San Jose. I still have memories of my first races at Watsonville Speedway with

Crazy Chargin Vic Irwin. I loved then and I love now the Indy 500.

I don't think it would be bad for racing if Open Wheel got on the map and was as

popular as Nascar. In fact, I think it would be good for racing and good for the American

People.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani....hey I just love racing..any kind and either you can love it and try to have fun

or you can try to analyse it. Just go out and have fun and trust me if you

are involved you are racing and you are growin' the sport. If you don't

get involved it means you don't like racing.

nice comments. even though i noticed some of the same things, it did not register until reading your post. it just goes to show that when your focus is somewhere else (mine was on our 2 cars and i never got out of the pits) things like that seem to not matter as much. but to others who are taking in the whole experience it sticks out like a sore thumb. i hope dirt takes note and makes time to make the necessary changes.

Much ado about nothing.

Y A W N .......

Hit an Outlaw show and watch the Greatest Show on Dirt actually live up to its name as it has so far. 5 different quick timers, 5 different feature winners and heck even 5 different B-Main winners, you can't ask for anymore than that.

Where's Allan Iverson when you need him, "Probation?, PROBATION?? C'mon man, Probation? We're talking about Probation??? Take It Easy.....

Too bad the person doing the interview didn't give Mr. McCarl some time to cool off before he interviewed him.

I have seen this many times in all kinds of sports. Given 5 or 10 minutes after the incident the person who was originally ranting and raving on their interview has calmed down.

The World of Outlaws know what they are doing. This is going to bring more and more people to the races who are there for only the pay backs or what ever you want to call it. Some people (not me) only go for the accidents and to see fights.

terry had plenty of time to cool off .they had to sit through a red flag. then they had to restart and finish the race. then they had to go to the scales. then they had to be pushed back on the track. this interview did not take place on a red flag right after the incident. this interview took place well after the crash.

The interview took place after Terry was physically attacked. Piss a bull off sometime and see how long it takes for him to cool down.

joey's guys ran to terry's car and started an altercation on the red flag after joey crashed. the post i was responding to said that they should have given terry time to cool down. i pointed out that there had been ample time that had passed. yes it is true the interview took place after terry had been attacked. but not right after. and not with out time to cool down.

Piss a bull off sometime and see how long it takes for him to cool down.

it is not any one else's fault that the bull head shot his mouth off but the bull head himself. just because terry stepped all over his johnson in the interview by todays standards is not any one else's fault. so no one should blame the person with the mic. terry could have gotten his point across with better language. i have nothing against terry. i always got along with him when he raced in san jose. i go way back to the day of hard driving rough and tumble racing too. but foul language over the PA system has never been acceptible. your boy mouthed off at the wrong time and got smacked for it . deal with it.

i grew up racing with the sargents. a fine and probation is no big deal. believe me.

they used to get pissed off at us at san jose fairgrounds because whenever mike would flip the first thing we would do was take off a tire so we made sure the car would not roll. then we would work on the care while it was upside down and still on the race track.by the time they got a tow truck over to us and got it tipped over we had the car fixed and ready for a new top wing.

they would threaten to kick the whole crew out all the time but we didn't give a crap.

no one stirred up more crap than mike and mark and marshall sargent. but they watched thier language wile they were doing it.

Todd, the release came as part of an advance publicity release for one of the Arizona races. If you check the news on the WoO website, it's probably there . I think it went out Wednesday morning.
