Be held responsible for what we say on a message board and spouting off legal jargin?? Are you even serious??? I'm a legal assistant and I'm about to fall out of my chair laughing.
As for teamzsteve - I don't even need to waste my time with you - I think the two that responded to your diarrea did a very good job (my husband and I are laughing our butts off with what they said). Other than...if you and only one other car drove 300 miles to a race - it's probably because that track screwed over the other ones and you and Stupid #2 just take longer to get it soaked in your head.
Yeah, this deal is dead - but it's been fun guys. We won't see our money again (unless my filing with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau take off or I decide to involve one of my attorney buddies). But again, it's not all about the money. It's how the whole thing was handled. I hope the Doug and Jerry Show have learned a very valuable lesson on how to handle a big event (though I doubt they'll get a second chance at this).
Happy Holidays!!!

You want to compare that race to the Chilli Bowl lmao are you serious. There are more seats in the restrooms at the Chilli Bowl than at that whole track. Springfield Speedways event compared to Chilli Bowl LMAO pardon me everyone im going to the restroom before i piss myself.
|
Nonwing,i am not comparing Springfield to the Chilli Bowl,,what i am trying to say is that everytime someone puts on a race in the winter the cars turn out in high numbers because there is no place elae to race .. The race in Springfield would have been a good one if the rain had not been there to cancael it. They had over 160 cars turn out pretty good for the weeekend after Thanksgiving. There would have been over 200 cars but some people made the right call and looked at the weather and didnt want thereMoters turning 8000 plus in 35 degree weather and they seen the rain coming. They have reset the race for march 14th 2009. Go back and win you money that should be your insentive. The track i am sure is out alot of money advertising etc. Just like the Car Owners and drivers are out gas and the cost of getting there.. If you been in Racing long get use to it I have been to 1000s of races and my Family has over 300 wins and 40 plus Race and Season Championships in Supermods Sprints cars Modified and ya i banged some finders to in Full Bodys .ALL TRACK DONT REFUND IF THEY RESET THE DATE There just is not enough Buildings big enough. in any citys in the middle of the country to hold a race like the Chilli Bowl. The middle of the country would make travel half way for everyone. Somebody will get smart and find another place to do a winter race, like the one coming up aat Kemper Arena in Kc..EMMETT HAHN BUILT A GREAT THING. THE CHILLI BOWL IS THE SUPERBOWL OF NON WING HEAVEN. THE RACE IN MARCH WILL BE A GOOD ONE, ONE OF THE FIRST RACES OF THE YEAR. DID YOU EVER WONDER WHY RACE TRACKS GO OUT OF BUSSNESS BECAUSE IT COST SO MUCH TO RUN A TRACK,,,IN THE GOOD OL DAYS THEY PAYED USE FOR HEAT RACE FINISHES WITHOUT A FEATURE START EVERYWEEK. BE THANKFULL THAT THERE ARE GUYS OUT THERE LIKE JERRY HOFFMAN AND DOUG BLAND WITHOUT GUYS LIKE THAT WE MIGHT BE RACING IN OUR BACK YARDS AGAIN LIKE WE DID IN 1949
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
harder to stay there.

It's been awhile since someone brought up defamation in here. The people that throw the term around usually end up eatin' shit. Good luck on that one.
I have an honest question. Why is it that every time we hear about a situation like this happening it's always in that general area of the country? There was a deal with the allstars a few years back in Missouri and now this. It seems like there was something else like this also but I can't seem to remember what it might have been.
If something like this went down in Ohio, the fans and the drivers would put a track out of business. Atleast, if it does happen, it never gets publisized around here, with the exception of Wayne county. You folks out there need to band together and let it be known that you won't let this kind of thing happen under any circumstances. If a track or a promotor has to take a major kick in the balls over it, so be it. They'll know better than to pull it on you guys again.

HERE IS ALOT OF LIEING GOING ON ON THIS.THE ONLY THING THAT HAPPENED IS THAT THE RACE RAINED OUT AFTER TWO B MOD HEATS ,SO THEY RESET THE RACE FOR MARCH 14TH. ALL THE CRAP ABOUT DIFFERENT PRICES AT THE GATE IS A LIE ,, SOME OF THE SPRINT AND MIDGET GUYS CANT GET BACK THER OR DONT KNOW IF THEY CAN. I AM SURE THE TRACK HAS CHECKED WITH SOME OF THE PEOPLE IN THE MIDGET RANKS IF THT DATE WILL WORK. SO THEY JUSY HAVE TO GO BACK IN MARCH ON THE 14TH...IT WILL BE ONE OF THE FIRST RACES OF THE YEAR.IT WILL BE A GOOD ONE .THEY HAD OVER 160cars show up and everyone knew the temperature was going to be in the upper 30s.THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER 200 PLUS CARS IF THE WEATHER WOULD AHVE BEEN ALITTLE WARMER.THERE AHVE BEEN OTHER RACES THIS TIME OF YEAR BEFORE THEY GOT LUCKY AND THE WEATHER HELD..THEY DID HAVE THIS RACE LAST YEAR IT WAS GOOD AND THAT IS PART OF THE REASON THEY GOT A GOOD TURN OUT. THEY DIDNT EXPECT OVER 100 CARS THE WAY I UNDERSTAND IT.BUT THE WORD FROM LAST YEAR ON THIS RACE WAS GOOD ....BUT MOTHER NATURE WON THIS WON,,,I PLAN ON BEING AT THE MARCH RACE IT WILL BE A GOOD ONE WITH 4 CASES OF CARS,,INCLUDING THE BEST A MODS AND B MODS IN THE MIDWEST ALONFG WITH THE SPRINTS AND MIDGETS WHO RETURN......BUT DID ANYBODY WONDER AND KNOW THAT DANNY LASOSKI WAS THER YOU DONT HERE HIM WINING ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS AT THIS RACE,THERE WERE MANY TOP RACERS THERE ANF THERE WILL BE IN MARCH
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
harder to stay there.

I've got a question. How many of you own a race track or are associated with a track owner in some way? Before you bash, here is why I ask. I ran into a similar instance 2 years ago at our local track and was upset that I couldn't get the money back for the pit passes of family members that drove 400 miles to see the race and wouldn't be back the following week. I was told that once a green flag drops, as far as the insurance companies are concerned, its a race. Therefore the track owners have to pay insurance on all the pit passes sold, however that works. If any racing occurred before the rain out, the following week would have double features, but we also had to pay for pit passes and entry fees that week as well. If the cars never hit the track, it was rain checks for the following week. This was at a kart track, but I'm guessing that things work in a similar manner as far as insurance goes.
If this is in fact how it works, then that would help explain why there would not be refunds. Another thing, there has been mention of the purse being cut for the make up date by many of you? Where did you get that from? Also curious where the $35,000 figure come from. That would mean there had to be about 600 people in the pits, not counting the drivers.
If the speed doesn't kill ya, the cost of the parts will!!

Look at Terry McCarl who is promoting on a small scale as of now. The 2007 rains cancelled the Ultimate Challenge at Oskaloosa! He offered money back with a mailed in ticket stub or he would make it good for the 2008
race. Could he afford to do it? Probably not. Did he lose money? One would think he did. But it was the right thing to do. I am assuming he had to dish out a lot more refunds than this particular Springfield race but he was still willing to Pony up.
Another reason why TMac is just a Cool MoFo.......
Also I have never had a problem getting my money back from Knoxville that I can recall for any rain out (accept for the Nationals and the tickets state that there are no refunds and all races will be ran)

I'm not a big McCarl fan but I remember when that deal happened and I have to say that that was an extremely cool move on his behalf. That should be a lesson to any other person that plans to promote a race. He treated everyone involved with the utmost courtesy and theres no doubt that drivers and fans alike will remember that for years to come.

Paintboss .... got my Osky money back about 6 weeks after I sent in my tixs. Called the number at about 4 weeks and she told me she had to just do them one at a time. I was not aware they had to do it by hand with no computerized help. I went back for both nights this year and drug some friends along to 'pay' Osky some extra appreciation. I wasn't going to get on here and post about this Springfield deal (I wasn't there and 'wronged').... but HELL it's real simple ....just give the racers and fans their choice .. money back or use the tixs some other time. Not an arbitrary decision to keep your $$$$ figuring 50% of the racers and fans won't keep track of em (their tixs and pit passes) and will lose them by next March.

YOU JUST RAISED A GOOD POINT, Most of the drivers at the Springfield race only signed there name ,,they dont have addresses for anyone in the Midgets and Sprints, and the single pit pass people only sign there name,It was a bad deal when the pit people from the Open Wheelers were cussing the woman and the track promoter at the gate,,they were totaly out of control. I know Jerry Hoffman real well and he has almost gave the shirt off his back for several people to help keep them racing. Some of the people on here are being so bad with there mouthing that i am sure that nothing will be done untill they all acked like adults.Your right it would take a long time to do any refunding because of lack of info.He might change his thinking about this a little when he sees how many of the Open Wheelers cant make the March Race.Anybody that has been in Racing long has had this happen before.. This has been a bad year for rain outs,,almost all of the tracks in that area rained out half the time this year and didint have any truoble with doing it they way they are now. It is alot of work when you have no info on people,,
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot

Red Banana - did your mom drop you on your head a lot when you were little?
Or did you think wearing a helmet in your 3 million feature win races was just an option?
