now you guys. i have a reputation to uphold. lol. well that tire did get the best of me but just think about this. evey time one of you boys need a push its not some big bad 4x4 doing it. its pretty much a mini stock with a 4WD chassis and a lillte 2.5 L four banger pushin you around. lol. Kinda makes it seem funny now. But I did get to help that guy get his sprint car off the trailer. That was funny. I dont know how he got it on there in the first place. But i enjoy doing what i do. So yall can race and have a great time.
Dont get mad at me, im just the pushtruck guy.

It is really sad to see all this nonsense. I have watched "the kid" for a while now. And he is my sons Hero.. Like the guy said above. He is not wrecking anyone out there. He does not say anything if someone hits him. Whether it is on purpose or not. After the race he goes to his pit area and gets out of his car still as a 14year old kid. Not a hateful no it all winner. Whether he wins or whether he loses…Don't be hurt if "the Kid" passes you.. Tell him what a great job he does. It is really sad to see that Not only does this 14 year old have to put up with all the peer pressure of the world. That he has to read about all the negative stuff that you put on here. If you go to the website for BMS. You will see that Cody is very far in Points. That he has showed up as many times as the 2nd place person. So Quit with all the bull. Go watch this amazing kid race. Yes with plenty of other talented kids out there. They even have a 8 yr old and a 10 year old that are starting out. Them little boys can fly.. Yea they don't run with the "Big Boys" just yet. But give them a few years. Are you going to be on here dogging them? I would sure hope not…..Dont take away the spot light. Go make another one…..GREAT JOB "KID"
|
I wouldnt have said that any better myself. Give the kid credit where its do. And for all of you who are being such idiots stop and think about what you are showing theses younger ones who want to be a good racers one day. Isnt up to you big boys to show them how to be good sports? And as for the little guys I know the #7 real well, hes a 7year old who wants to be just like his dad ,and thats why hes out there and not only that he realy loves it,and i also know the other littl guy and he loves the sport of raceing as well. So how about stopping all the nonsence and showing these youngsters we are proud of the for what they are doing and what a great job they are doing, instead of being a bunch of complete morons. They have to look up to someone and i thought all racers were like family i'll help you when your in need ,But if this is the nonsence you are teaching please dont teach it to the little guys. And again in reply to this e-mail I to have to say GREAT JOB ! And to the little ones KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB AND IT WONT BE LONG AND YOU WILL ALSO BE OUT THERE LIKE CODY!

And as far as me doing a little "editing," it was because of word only. I really don't mind people getting on here with their difference of opinions - in fact I encourage it as your not wrong with that.
What I have a problem with is people posting under fake names, not using their real names and being held accountable for what they post. Especially if they talk crap. If you notice when Larry posts, I don't bash him or challenge him to his thoughts because he is man enough to post who he is and he tells what he thinks. Whether we like it or not, you know who it is saying something. Do I agree? Not alot of the time do I BUT he has his opinion and Larry is a good friend of mine. Somebody I would do almost anything for. Just as I would for most of you on here.
Again, if you feel like you have to, give your opinion pro or con but at least have the gonads enough to post your name and be held accountable.

Kudos to Cody Metscher for his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future. There are many talented drivers out there under the age of 18 who deserve praise and respect from the fans and fellow drivers alike. I primarily attend the races at SFS and Lawton but to name a few: Koby Barksdale, Cody Whitworth, Shayla Waddell, Cody Lair, Sheldon Barksdale, Kyle Merriman, Joe Bob Lee, Morgan Moore and I'm sure many more that I don't realize how young they are. It takes courage and confidence for these youngsters to get in a powerful car and race against adults every week. Keep working hard and thank you for being role models that our younger kids can look up to. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do something. With God, hard work and heart - anything is possible.

I'm Telling you, this kid is on fire. And he's a great, really un-assuming kid, well-mannered. My daughter has taken him on as her hero. I'm planning on doing a longer interview with him next Saturday during intermision, if time allows.

David asked us to drop this a long time ago.
BUT MR. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM Quit hiding under your phony alias and make your accusations like a man!!!
Maybe if you could put your questions about the legality of something into the form of a question, written in english, possibly with some punctation then MAYBE someone could respond to your childish drivel.
Let's see. The cars are lined up by pts avg., lowest points first, so just where the hell would a guy with 0 pts go??????
Question my sexual preference again, and I'll make my heterosexuality quite plain to you. You got me????
My number is in the book; my name is a matter of public knowledge. It's your 50 cents.

OK- I can not keep my mouth closed anymore!!!
This is a 14 year old KID that has lots of talent. He has shown it, regardless what track he drives. If you have the balls to strap in, then go for it. If you have no balls, then shut the h@#! up.
I have seen all three drivers drive. This young man is not only a great driver, but a great person as well. Trey Robb is the same way. I have not got to meet Waddle as I have the others. I have known Perry Robb for many years and I know what is expected of Trey.
Come on people, we have a 14 year old kicking butt and people want to bring him down. Well strap in and try it. He is a humble and his family is great and they do not shun anyone.
Bottom line, we have a 14 year old who ain't selling drugs or standing on the street corner. He is doing something with himself. So please get off him. He has done an excellent job this year. And look forward to the years ahead with him behind the wheel.
If anyone has a problem with what I said please let me know. Thank

That's the beauty of this forum David. We have the freedom to voice our opinions! Of course everyone won't agree with every opinion posted, but that's what makes it entertaining. However, I agree that bashing a kid who's doing a good job, or bashing any kid for that matter, isn't necessary and it takes a pretty small person to do it.
Keep up the good work David!

F the haters! If you love racing, enjoy the chance to watch a great driver for cheap while you can. The Kid has a future for sure. I watched Al Unser,Jr , Jeff Gordon and many others when they came through OKC as young drivers and Cody has as much talent if not more. Keep your nose clean, and keep doing what your doing Cody, Good Job! You'll make it as far as you want to. I'm just guessing the reason he's not at SFS is he's too young and his parents don't want him going to prison for being a kid because he's an adult on paper. No offense to all the rest of the talented drivers at BMS, but this kid is for real and puts on a clinic in a low budget car. See it while you can. We don't realize how good we have it here in Oklahoma with all the talented young (and old) drivers here racing at first class tracks. I'm biased, but I got that dirt track mentality.
It's been said already, the family is first class. Quit busting this kid's balls already.
Stand on it Cody, and keep your head where its at.
F the haters!
And that's how I got my eye patch

Lets get this straight the kid is a awsome driver. I am saying that for everyone to see. I didnt want to post to this post first of all. I am not a hater.
To say he puts on a clinic is a bit of a stretch though. When the OCRS guys showed up a few weeks ago because Creek got rained out he did not finish in the top five. If memory is right the only three that finished in the top five from Meeker were Clevenger, Guinn and Lambert. I even have heard stories from other drivers in the champ divsion at Meeker that Cody has some balls to him already in regards to talking to them about the way they drive on the track, using the brakes, that is for the guys that know what I am talking about.
Dont get me wrong the kid can drive. He will be moving to bigger things but to say he is god already is reaching when there is talent enough out there that will knock him down a few rungs on the ladder. If he can go run with the OCRS and be in the mix with them on a regular basis then I will give him props. If he can run with the Passmore's. Goodman's and Smith's then I will think even more of him.

Monkey if you are talking to me I am not bashing the kid at all. But, I can give other examples of 14 year olds that are not on the streets killing or selling drugs. Just becasue he is racing makes him an exception. There are numerous of kids out there that are making a differance in the world but they are not invollved in racing or where the public can see them them week in and week out.

Every Sat. night before racing starts, Mark Brill holds a drviers meeting at which time he tells all the drivers if they have any comments or complaints to speak up. Nobody says anything. Instead you all want to get on this forum under a fake name and bash BMS and Mark.
I expect Sat. night for all you drivers or pit crew members that have something to say, to say it at the drivers meeting.
Mark is trying to run a good. He is not perfect but he is alot more fair and respectful to the drivers than SFS will ever be.

What I meant to say is Mark is trying to run a good show. I would also like to comment that BMS is a very family oriented racetrack which means alot to some people that bring younger kids to the track, myself included.

I wasn't bashing anyone in particular. I know there are other kids out in the world who are making a difference. But this Young Man is going a great job. I just can not see where someone would want to knock a kid down. Who knows, maybe in 7 years he may not want to race anymore. But for now, he is going a really good job. That was my point. Anymore, the kids that age are sitting in front of a television, or out doing mischief. That was my point.

Kevin, If you look at my pic you can figure out who I am. lol In fact I might have to come and see you in a few days at the station . I agree with you that Mark is trying to run a good show. I have no problem about the way the track is oriented toward familes.
I know some that will disagree with the way Mark runs his program and sometimes honestly I have to side on their side sometimes. The story I am aware of is that some of Mark's crew is quick with their tempers.
My thing is that there are those on this thread that think we all should get on our knees and throw rose petals at this kids feet. I have seen drivers come and go . You yourself has seen it also. I am not saying that this kid will not go to bigger things b/c I think he will, When someone says on this thread that this kid puts on a clinic I have to step up and say hold on. You can look at my previous post as see what what evidence I come to the table with. Also, from what I understand as I was not at the track this past Sat the track went dry and Cody finished in the back. One of the very first guys that I helped in sprint cars, that had been in racing for a very long time, had the opinion that anyone can drive a tacky track. My thing is don't start to annoint this kid the king of the world without seeing what he can do in the future. Like I said before just because the kid is racing and not on the streets selling drugs does not make him a saint. I can think of a couple of kids at the fairgrounds that would fit this mold. If anyone wants to discuss this with me in a mature adult manner ask around with some of the champ guys and one or two of the super sprint guys and I bet they can point you in the right direction.
But from walking the pits last Friday at the fairgrounds I am not the only one that has this same opinion.

I can give you about 3 to 4 kids that do not fit this mold and they do not come from a "normal " family.

I'll probably eat these words, but whether you think he's good or not, I don't think you 'll have any trouble picking him out at the BMS awards banquet, he'll be the one with the BIG trophy, that says CHAMPION.

So what you are saying is" it does'nt matter that the kid is running an electronic device, he's still going to be considered the champion'Well if you ask me thats a pretty unfair move.Like my post before i stated that i was for the kid, then i find out about the electronic device it really upset me to know that i was for someone who doesn't follow the rules. I guess from now on when i come out to the races i'll be more careful on who i root for.
