Nasa says the earth is cooling this year...warmed in 1998...keep relying on OLD data, but steer clear of those outdated prescription meds, they have drug you down into a liberal depression state.
look at the bright side, when Al Gore outlaws the internal combustion engine - we can bet on liberal squirrels riding BIG WHEELS at Lincoln!

You must be looking at the right wing nutjob Dr. Spice Girl NASA website again...lol.
Each year, scientists at NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies analyze global temperature data. A rapid warming trend has occurred over the past 30 years, and the eight hottest years on the GISS record have occurred in the past decade. 2005 is the hottest year on record, and 2007 is tied with 1998 for second place. The Earth is experiencing the warmest level of the current interglacial period, or interval between ice ages, which has lasted nearly 12,000 years.

Care to guess what the North Pole is going to look like this September? Or are you still sticking by your story that in your parallel universe ice melts when it gets colder...lol.

Global temperature did hit a peak in 1998...but how long until we surpass even that benchmark? Global warming is a big picture issue, not just in certain areas or years. Kind of like your ski forecast...lol. Where the jet stream runs has a lot to do with that. Mother nature blows off steam in North America by dumping it up the Gulf and across the plains... and if you ask just about anyone... she seems to be doing a pretty good job of it...lol. Thank God we mostly just get the remnants around here. I am conservative in the fact that I think we will run out of fossil fuels before catastrophic damage can be done to the environment. With the price of oil going so high it seems to be happening sooner than later anyway, so the situation seems to be taking care of itself. Over population seems to be the other main problem... and Mother Nature also usually seems to take care of herself there in the end as well?

dude if you are indeed a conservative - you got to my favorite conservative of all time. if the view you hold about runnin out of oil before catastrophic damage to environment is conservative ------ then why do I agree with it? lol. I mean - I'm told by fokks on here I'm liberal to the point of socialist - - - but yet I try to look at everything with an open mind. and I agree with your above assertion. I agree with quite a few things conservative - yes I know I lean liberal when it comes social economics and rights and different things like that. I just dont take a biased platform into everything I read - doing that you get your views spoonfed to you.
so cool stuff there cubic.............an open minded conservative it appears. kick ass.............

So you will believe a NASA report on Mars about global warming but you won't believe any about Earth? You guys must really be grasping for straws...lol. How about sending out a few more fake petitions signed by the Spice Girls...lol.

the question as i understand it, is how much of this assumed global warming can be traced directly to human influance. lets apply the same standards to jupiter and mars!

Don't bet on it........ it's a sport and a total waste of fuel to drive to and from that event but also remember that the Nascrap stuff runs on gas... they go after that first and All racing will be hit.......Remember we are being told that there is only 50 years of fuel left.. Why waste in on a sport that is powerd by oil and oil by products....IF these wack jobs can raise the price of fuel by anywhere from 1.50 to 5.00 to save the polar bear just to make sure that our coke is cold they will do anything...
|
talk about sports that waste fuel, how about all the stick and ball sports that play 10 times the events per week per sport than NASCAR. the cup cars race ONE event per week. how many baseball games are there per week? and how many full sized jets do those teams use to fly all over the country? and how much fuel do those jets use? and just how many fans of those stick and ball sports are "wasting" fuel to go to those sports? nascar could convert to methanol if it wanted to. can the football team jets? i just can't believe it when folks try to use the "waste of fuel" argument when it comes to motorsports. most forms of professional motorsports do not use gasoline. hell a large part of local weekend racers don't use gasoline. just because some kind of fuel is used to power the machines, folks say motorsports is a waste of fuel. they do not realize that the percentage of the fuel that is used by the machines is nothing compared to the overall fuel consumption by the fans,or the trucks used to deliver the items necsesary to put on the event. like food and drink. if a person is going to try to single out motorsports as a waste of fuel they are very "fuelish". lmao! "fuelish", i don't care who you are, that thar is funny!!

Every country lives and dies for its sports...that will be the last thing to ever be affected. Besides, most racing ALREADY runs on alcohol. Series like F-1 are also at the forefront of advanced technologies like brake energy regeneration that can benefit the masses. NASCAR is the one that might have to think about going E85 one day.
Cleaner power generation and better mass transportation are what most people seem to be after. Many other industrialized nations already have much better systems than ours in place. Commuting an hour each way in a SUV is already becoming a thing of the past with current fuel prices.

E85? you mean the low grade crap that takes 1.5 gallons of gasoline to produce 1 gallon of fancy corn oil?
good luck with that product, the starving thrid world will sue the corn industry before that works out for the tree huggers!

Like Your $5 Gas? Townhall ^ | May 25, 2008 | Kevin McCullough

Spending $60, $70, even $90 for a fill up at the gas station is fun right? When it comes to crippling, racist, and economically debilitating energy policy liberals have truly paralyzed America. And they seem proud of their efforts. In the left's refusal to allow us to seek new energy sources they are stunting a nation's economy, they are hurting the average family, and they are starving hungry children.
They also have the gall to do all of this under the guise of feigned outrage at oil companies in addition to self-superior Senate floor speeches where they rage against the administration. They also express abject resentment towards anyone who dares to mention the obvious - that it is their policies that put us in this mess to begin with and disallows our escape from it.
If you want a mere glimpse of their hypocrisy revisit Gore v. Bush. I'm not referring to the court case, but their living arrangements. Bush lives in a solar powered home designed for maximum conservation impact in his Crawford ranch. Al Gore's home has not been converted to solar power, and only a year ago was exposed for having toxic waste on his property that was actually polluting the local water supplies. But this simple comparison barely scratches the surface as to the left's energy scam.
The real pinch that you feel at the pump exists for multiple reasons. Nearly all of them the fault of liberals.
Repeatedly they criticize the administration for having to work with Middle Eastern nations that sell us oil, they mock us for having to beg Saudi princes to increase production, yet they refuse to do the things that would cause the Saudi's and other members of OPEC to lower prices naturally.
This last week the nation of Brazil discovered enough oil sitting only 130 miles off their coast to give them the equivalent of nineteen years worth of oil by their current usage standards. That's nineteen years that they don't have to purchase oil from anywhere else.
Presently in territories under US control we have oil reserves that could eclipse that number by possibly 20 to 30 times. We have the technology to go get it with almost zero impact to the surrounding environment. And in some places where we could go harvest it from - like the Alaskan wilderness, we would need less than 2% of the total territory to give us domestic oil production that would rival the output of what we purchase abroad and thus cause those suppliers to drop their prices. Off the shores of California, Florida, and other oceanside states further exploration could be had with no cost to the taxpayer and any reserves we would find would belong to the U.S. and thus allow us to control our own energy future. But liberals in Washington, the lobbyists who pay them well, and the far left environmentalist groups who are manipulating the public discussion would rather you not be able to pay your bills or even drive your car - than to give in and allow any expanded exploration to occur.
But finding the reserves is only part of the problem. Once the oil is in hand it must be refined, and since "crazy greenies" have prevented the construction of one single additional refinery in nearly a generation, the supply chain is unable to be processed and delivered effectively to help the prices stabilize at the pump. Additionally elected liberals like Chicago's Mayor Richard Daley, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, and U.S. Senator Richard Durbin have worked in concert to see to it that Chicago area drivers now pay a 20% tax on every gallon of gas sold.
The Global Warming scare mongers have played their part as well. Now that more than 31,000 scientists have disputed nearly all of even the most basic claims made in Al Gore's hysterical work of fiction, "An Inconvenient Truth," we are starting to see up close the damage Gore's self-enriching scam has produced. His insistence upon alternative fuels, has created horrific realities which are making the development of fuel far more expensive, and starving orphans on the African continent simultaneously. He's also made tons of personal riches from his "carbon credits" company that has yet to prove how it is regenerating the climate.
When we realize that the amount of corn for example that has to be set aside for the minimum production of ethanol, and how that corn is no longer for food supplies there should exist outrage. When we discover the tons of corn required to make one tank of fuel, yet realize the same amount of corn could feed an African orphan who is presently dying of starvation for a full year that outrage should create a quake for justice that liberals can not escape.
And we haven't even begun to address the entire idea of nuclear energy expansion that could go across the continent heating, lighting, and keeping our homes safe at far lower costs. In places like Africa nuclear power would move villages that are barely surviving into healthy new conditions. Simply replacing the dung that some mothers are forced to cook with would guarantee a drop in the child mortality rate across much of the sub-Saharan portion of the continent. Yet for all of Barack Obama's insistence upon giving a condom to every person in Africa he seems utterly unmoved by the plight of children breathing the smoke of bovine excrement.
Some proponents of energy exploration have argued that we are running out of oil reserves. Yet any one who uses common sense wonders how that is so. Oil reserves are developed by the death and compression of carbon life-forms over the years. Forests, wildlife, marine life, and humans have not stopped dying - nor are they expected to anytime soon. Harvesting living energy supplies - like food - seems to be counter productive than harvesting energy supplies that in fact have already been "processed" naturally for our use. With our more advanced exploration capabilities we are also discovering that we are far - if it's even possible to be - from "running out of oil."
So what does it all mean?
Liberals have put into place legislation that restricts our ability to supply our energy needs for ourselves. They have prevented us from being able to refine the energy supply we obtain. They have prevented us from creating the most cost effective energy supply ever discovered (nuclear). And they appear more than happy to continue to tax the living daylights out of us on the energy we have to have in order to survive.
In short it is using dishonest messages to tax us more, taking the capital we earn for our families, to create a greater dependency on "them" to "solve our problems" for us. Can anyone say "backdoor Marxism?" Do you like your $5 per gallon gas?
Just do nothing... because letting the marxist left run our energy policy seems to be working out well for all of us!

Guess I should have made myself clearer.. I feel it's not the racers them selves but the thousands of cars the fans and staff drive to get to the events... I agree with you that sports will probably be brushed off BUT I do think that racing will take a hit earlier because of the precieved waste of fuel, and the fact that some people don't see it as a sport of the same caliber as the stick and ball crowd...

please don't quote me as i can't remember the exact numbers, but if we were to use 100% of the corn produced here for fuel, leaving none for anything else, i hear it would provide only around 20% of our fuel needed. powering passenger cars on pure ethanol is a big question mark to me. as most racers know, you get HALF the fuel mileage with methanol than gas. i would guess it would be simular with ethanol. so if they are baseing that 20% off of the same gallonage as gas, wouldn't you then have to cut that in half? lol. also i would think that the same traights, such as bad cold wheather performance, corrosion, and gumming would be the same with ethanol as with methanol. i do not think anyone is opposed to helping our environment, as well as finding other sources of fuel. i just think that too much is being made of too little as far as ethanol. i think it is just a feel good alternitive for some and a political and financial platform for others. just as this global warming deal is. gore did nothing to address this when he was in office. if he and clinton would have implemented stratigies on refinery construction and alternative fuels in the 90's we would have had a good chance of seeing and feeling the results of that today. all the tree huggers cry for alternatives, yet they block all the alternatives presented. the liberals love to point to europe and other countries as being better than us in a lot of ways. yet they refuse us the same energy opportunities. that is why the dems are the party of piss and moan, bitch and whine, then oppose at every opportunity those who try to accomplish anything. this past presidential cycle has been a true example of how much the dems will do to tie a republican presidents hands and oppose him at every corner just to say he can get nothing done. to be fair, it is a political battle this country is in at this time in history and republicans may not be much better if the president was a democrat.

about the idea of the fans wasting fuel to get to the venue. that is part of my point. no matter WHAT sport they are going to, they are consuming fuel. and since there are way more stick and ball sports events than motor sports events.... well you get the idea. the folks complaining are mostly just not into motorsports anyway and are looking for any opportunity to degrade it. the local paper in chico has told its readers racing should be banned in chico. i wonder who pissed in their corn flakes!

to those with their heads up their asses - BRR and Nodust and whoever else applies. you guys are taking remarks made by the extreme wing of environmentalists and applying them to everyone who is concerned about climate change. with the sort of bullshit you fascists flounder - even when the world was suffering from the worst of effects of cliamte change - ya'll would find the one peawit who with false data would claim it is something else. I would strongly doubt either of you have children - considering the short sighted views you hold of both the world and the country. it would kind of explain a few things.
Quit harping about environmentalists trying to shut down auto racing. I'm sure there are radical elements that propose such foolish shit - but they aint much different than fellas like you with the way they spit out such foolish close minded divisive crap - they are just on the other side of the fence. that statement - IS FACT.
The far more likely scenario that would be the death nail in auto racing would actually come from the corporate and capitalist minded end. and that is - oil shortages. because as demand will not go too far down worldwide - the supply will only get tighter. those perpetrators who can profit off it will make damn sure that the tanks used in their ideological energy wars will have plenty of oil for a long long time. which means at some point - it wont just be auto racing stuck with no gas - but probably everyone else too.
it will be BS if this post is to be deleted - considering half the posts on here are calling for "tree huggers" and "liberals" to basically be killed in a variety of ways. you bums forget that the people you so loathe and would like to see their destruction - are americans just like you. it goes without saying that their care for the world their kids and grandkids live in. not just the country - but the world as well. Its assumed I'm so far left as to be communist or socialist - and although I dont know what the conparisons are that lead to that accusation are ------ as much a believer I am in the idea/fact that climate change is driven by humans ------ even I dont believe that we can make all the changes recommended in short amounts of time. because of capitalism and the global economy - it isn't just unlikely - but the negative effects in the short term could possibly match the long term effects in addressing climate change is ignored. you gotta crawl before you can walk. I think smaller but well thought out measures should be taken now - and gradually increase the efforts after that. I firmly believe the first step is to get big oil out of the oval office and congress. and climate change is on the bottom end of the reasons for why we need to do that. everything about this country caters to the wealthy while feeding the ever incresing lower middle class the leftover scraps. many things would need to go into achieveing this. first would be changes in the media. as the media is practically 95% owned by large corporations. when americans en masse obviously take what they see on the news as gospel - that is a CONFLICT OF INTEREST. this country plays to the extremists on both sides. on the left they lump the moderates who make up the majority - into the minority that is extreme left wing. same with the right. there are a good deal of conservative minded folks who are moderate as well - but everything gets played to the extreme end of the right - we see that even in this thread. this constant friction has led to a cold war of sorts between the parties and their beliefs. the majority of the left and the majority of the right are not represented properly. and they dont have an all out disgust for each other either. but when you take the extreme left and extreme right and then pit them together as if this is the way it has always been and should be for everyone ------ you get this huge rift of division in this country. of which folks like out King George and the corporate policies he represents benefit. folks are so busy blaming the other side for the problems of the common man that most dont even bat an eye or pay any mind to the fraud and corruption among our elected leaders relationships to corporate everything.
So in short - for americans to unite under a common cause of preserving the ways of life that we all enjoy ------- the huge division between the parties has to be shored up. the extremists on both sides - left or right ----- have to be silenced. well not like that - but at least not allowed to completely control the views and stuff of the moderates. the problem has gotten especially bad on the right. We all see examples of this - but I've seen a few directly in crap said to me. some question my patriotism when I openly question my government and its intentions - when under the principles and beliefs this nation was founded upon tell us to do exactly that. I find these hypocritical degenrates ( sadly mostly right wing neo cons) - to be the most unpatriotic group in the country. nothing about their beliefs are for the good of america and our future generations - and also in participating in future generations of the WOLRD. its strictly for the good of their own party. instead of all americans working together for the good of this country or mankind. their idea of how best to achieve it is to have the opposing group completely silenced or worse - and to capitalize off the misery owe help create in other parts of the world. thats not america or what america should be. that is the oppresion that our ancestors fought to free all of us from. and it is also the reason most of the world despises us. To be even more technical - the same ways that the extreme right tries to lump the entire left into 1 group of extremists - which keep in mind is very far from the truth - is exactly what they have done with our foreign policy from 2000-2006. they managed to start ideoligical wars by lumping the entire religion of Islam into extremists..........and that was wayyy off and wrong as well. many might not have liked America - but only a very very VERY small fraction were extremists. this notion was started because if actions were taken on that belief (ie Iraq) it meant lots and lots of money............and the fraud was furthered in large part - by the right wing here in the US. if it wasn;t WMD's - it was liberating them. if it wasn;t liberating them - it was Al-Qaeda, if it wasn;t Al-Qaeda - it was "o well - they're all muslim and they don't like us". the VAST majority of this country that literally cowered under the corporate funded right wing propaganda should spurn those that slung it in every single way. but yet even I in seeing these things very clearly - still see all of these amatuers as my countrymen. even though this same group thinks those with beliefs similar to mine should suffer a negative fate. I still dont believe they should suffer a negative fate, their ideology should, but not them. for no matter what has already transpired - the only way this country survives is united. and that isn't just a word. it's a belief, and more importantly - it;s a practice. there wasn;t a better time for me to post this rant than on Memorial Day. Listening to the political pundits from both sides (moreso the right) - but not thinking for yourselves - and TAKING THE TIME to learn things for yourselves - to serve your civil duties - only serves to make the voices of the extremists in THIS COUNTRY louder and louder. we don;t need to acceot our voices being GIVEN to us any longer - but to educate ourselves to create our own. so that we can sow up the massive division in this country that is so favorable to folks like BRR, Nodust, and the rest of the extremist lot. For the sake of all who have made the ultimate sacrifice - for their country. for those all men and women who served so honorably since Breed's Hill in Boston.........and for every man, woman, and child that ever BELIEVED. in this country and the beliefs principles it was founded - we can not continue to let the extremists on both the left and the right (more so the right lately) continue to tear this country apart. screw your parties. screw the democrats. screw the republicans. and screw the ideology of both. no veteran who has made the ultimate sacrifice did so for either. they did it for AMERICA. never for their party. their sacrifice was so that all americans could have freedom - no matter whether their sacrifice was honored or not by elected leaders of PARTIES. they did it for all americans. and they are the ones who matter. not right wing neo cons - not liberal tree huggers - but AMERICANS. those who cannot see past their own party lines - are the ones who need to have their patriotism questioned. and this is a problem prevalent much more on the conservative end. with neo-cons and such. we see it on this forum - and I highly question their motives and patriotism - as everyone should.
and again - I reject this post being deleted. or this thread to for that matter. this is no more extreme than what is normally spewed out from the long distance lovers of rural Iowa or rural PA. but it is better in one high regard. it's not as divisive. its a reminder that no matter how much we dislike the past - and who perpetrated or planted the seeds of that past - we are still americans. and need to believe, think, and move forward as such. Today is the greatest day for that thought. along with the Independence Day. so with that in mind - everyone be safe when traveling to pay your respects on Memorial Day.

OKC - funny that you would ADMIT who is driving the bus and still take a back seat and ride along like your buddy Osam- I mean Obama in the back row at Revie Wright's Church. WHERE in the enviro-agenda does it SAY that car racing will be exempted from the attacks that are launched at car manufacturers and SUV drivers today? i would close by saying that EVERY BIT of the optimizm you post on this message board goes against FACT and the track record of the liberal moron agenda you suck up too.
and for the record- ANWAR has enough oil to provide 2 million barrels pre day - which could fuel racing and all of the haulers for decades to come - why don't you suggest we drill there and reserve the oil for RACING ONLY to your tree hugging choir and let us know how that works out for you?
good thing you can dream - because your brain is not firing on all 8 during the waking hours.

OKC, we already know what nodust is. He has made it very clear that he's a closed minded, mean spirited racist. One of his threads was recently pulled for the ugly crap he was posting along with his hate monger duologue that went with it. I'm not surprised at all with anything a lunatic say's, but I am disappointed in those who choose to support him, for whatever reason. Those threads may have been pulled, but the disease is still here. http://www.joieray.com/
OKC, you are a better man than me or maybe you just have a harder head...LOL
Right you are, we are desperately in need of some middle ground.
