I'm struggling right now with giving up on ever winning another sprint car race again. Why am I doing this? I've won my last race. Quit trying so hard and just enjoy being a part of the show.
But then you see Sammy winning a race at 69. I'm only 43. If I bust my ass for the next two decades and still able to get just one more win, FUCK its worth it!
My car is already loaded in the trailer. Racing Carolina Speedway on Friday night. Tires are perfect, bolts torqued, engine tuned, fuel settings as best I can do. Notes taken.
If Sammy can win a 410 race at 69, I have a chance to win a 305 race at 43.
How the F*** can someone almost 70 years old even get in a sprint car, much less handle the abuse of everything that car is going to throw at you. Just riding around under caution can make you sick in your stomach. How are his eyes able to keep up? My neck is always killing me. Legs banging against the roll cage hurt so much the next morning. The amount of nose picking the next morning!
Literally every racer in the world will tell you winged 410ci cars are the absolute most dangerous and unpredicable cars in the world.
No matter where he was or who he beat, the fact that he sat down in a 410ci winged sprint car at age 69 and won is one of the most amazing accomplishments in racing history.
If you don't think this... Lets continue the conversation in 20 years with Stewart and 40 years with Larson!

Been many years ago but in warm up for the Masters Classic the Danny Young crew bought the 3Y car to Webster City Iowa and theIr driver was Loyd Beckman. Loyd with some help got in the car and won the feature. There was a claim rule so they forfeited the win but the smile on his face was better than any trophy. I also was in Knoxville when Bob Kinser drove Gils car and his first remark on exiting car was He was used to non winged short tracks and how much faster Knoxville was. Some of the drivers were well over 70 one being LeRoy Von Conett. When guys like Sammy and Danny were 50 they were still actively racing so the era of the true pioneers made the race different. I admire Sammys determination and hope he doesnt get hurt as He got more cheers at Knoxville than when He was STILL WINNING.

no, he is a complete dick. Almost everyone here respects other people. He's to much of a dumb ass to be able to do that. Just shows he is to stupid to have a conversation

Public Service Announcement-
You let yourself get suckered into another game of pin the tail on the Strawser, again. Remind yourself that he's nothing more than an attention seeking, non-racefan who is only doing this for attention. In fact, he's reading this right now and getting a little bit excited over the possibility of more attention coming his way soon. Remember the kid in 3rd grade who used to flick boogers at people to get attention? Your best bet is to simply ignor him when he flicks boogers.

I guess your monopoly on "truth" doesn't apply to spelling
Are you trying to say "skating rink"?

Sometimes a good conversation about sprint cars get close to being as good as the race but that rarely happens here anymore

Maybe he's trying to use the word scat (animal poop), and doesn't know how adjectives work.

There you go again ramming your opinion into a thread that has nothing to do with your agenda but you do it anyway but that's expected from a low IQ moron like yourself.

Why dont you guys do what I do? As soon as a thread is hijacked by Strawser26, I stop reading the thread. The only reason I at this point of the thread was so I can make a comment. I am not woried that Strawser26 will but me down as I am done reading his posts. I will start with a thread and if he makes an intelligent remark I will keep reading, but as soon as he goes off with his insults and "factual statements" I am out of the post. When I was teaching science, I stressed that everyone is entiled to their opinions, but not their own facts. Have a good day.
